  1. No more announcements until next week! Confirmed on twitter
  2. Does anyone know when the AGM is pencilled in and what might be on the agenda?
  3. I think we’d be more likely to get a requirement for both reserve births to go British “rising stars” than to lose it all together.
  4. Doyle, Rew, Thompson and one of Emil/Tobi (depending on Emil’s availability) should be the first names on the team sheet. I’d love to see Brennan at foxhall and I’d have Ellis back if Emil comes back. However he will likely be the one to miss out if we get Tobi and have a few more points to play with. For the sake of his Ipswich legacy not being tarnished and for his own benefit King needs a change of scenery.
  5. It’s a tough one. Foxhall is very limited by its size and the external stock car track I’m not really sure how or If you can ever make it a better race track. However, as you say I can recall a lot better meetings with the old track shape. Although you can potentially put that down to the quality and racing attitude of the riders of the past that used to be in league Crump, Gollob, Adam’s, Rickardsson, Loram, Ward etc along with very different machinery. Having Doyle and Emil is key for Ipswich because even in defeat they make the meeting worth watching alone. Without them there is little to attract fans. As someone mentioned above we need someone like a Pickering outside those top 2 who is an old school racer and will always give 110%. Rew is probably our closest rider to that.
  6. I literally said Leicester were more up for up for it and deserved winners? Just highlighted that in my opinion there were some moves that crossed the line. Wouldn’t have had any impact on the result or the fact Leicester deserves to win if they didn’t happen. If you disagree then you’re quite entitled to that opinion as I am mine. No need to be rude.
  7. Good win for Leicester that they were proper up for it and deserved winners. King and Ellis let Ipswich down tonight. A few dangerous moves from Lawson, cook and Fricke this evening that probably crossed the line of hard/fair racing. A few times Lucky there wasn’t a nasty incident. Desperately need our heat leader replacement sorted asap and Thompson back.
  8. Fair point. Worded poorly in the heat of the moment. Didn’t mean to suggest Wright or the names listed deliberately take people out but rather someone that regularly teeters on the line hard/dangerous racing.
  9. That’s very unfair on Rew. He’s not a Charles Wright, Pedersen, young Gollob (or someone of that nature) that regularly dangerously torpedos riders. It was typical hard racing between two young Aussies who have probably raced each other a lot. Unfortunately it sometimes goes wrong in speedway and any form of racing which for Tate and Keynan it did tonight. I wish Tate all the best and also Keynan as that’s likely going to have affected him significantly mentally. It’s helps no one throwing blame and baseless accusations of ill intent
  10. Bad result for the Witches at an unhappy hunting ground. However insignificant in regards to the horrific incident l. Everything crossed for young Tate. Best wishes.
  11. Adam Ellis had a nasty fall at Birmingham. Hope he’s okay. Real shame with his form this season looks like a rejuvenating rider loving his speedway again.
  12. Exactly my feelings. As much as I love seeing Ipswich win and competitive again after years. The thing that has me buzzed the most the last few seasons is having 1/2 of the best riders in the world at the club. I’d pay to watch Doyle and Emil race alone. Also bringing exciting young talents over like Rew always gets people interested. Speedway is has and always will predominantly be about entertainment and putting bums on seats as much as winning. Ipswich are a well run club and wouldn’t continue to persist to employ top riders (likely at significant outlay) if it isn’t of benefit to the club and the sport in the UK. The work the ipswich team/sponsors put into bringing Emil over here arguably made it possible for other clubs to start bringing back some of the bigger names.
  13. No disrespect to Harris or Scotty both absolute icons of the sport in this country. However, I’d rather gamble on the best rider in the world coming in even if he doesn’t perform as well round foxhall as perhaps scotty would. We need to keep attracting new riders over to Britain and I would argue the same two riders guesting in almost every meeting for various teams throughout the season is an example of wrong with the sport over here currently. Need a bigger talent pool and bringing the top boys back here is only a good thing.
