Glasgow V Poole Championship Final 8/10/23 6pm
Cast1rn replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Think 14 is a wee bit short for us, needed closer to twenty. Can anybody on this friggin forum tell us WHY IN THE HELL WAS LEE NOT OUT IN HEAT 12?? -
Potato/Potato, BSN would hopefully cover a number of the additional league meetings. As of now it's the Cab direct championship and the BSN league. So one for winning the league and one for winning the playoffs, job done.

Weather will always be a factor and how can it be foreseen that we would have one of the wettest August's on record when August 2022 was a scorcher.
-
From a Glasgow perspective, we didn't start our league campaign until the 2nd June. That's two months into the "season". So scrapping the BSN league and starting from the beginning of April wouldn't be an issue. Award the champions of the league the BSN trophy for being the most consistent and successful team throughout the whole season and then top 4 for playoff finals.

With the announcement of Dickson at Berwick and Birmingham saying that if they're running (80%) then they'll be in the premier. Now just to see what teams will be at the tapes in 2024 and pray to God it's 2h/2a.

I wrote every bike off that I owned (bandit, triumph tt, Gixxer 6). Then my Mum said "maybe you've ridden your luck on those things" and at the tender age of 25 I hung my boots up. -

I have no idea how he missed that, every fan on the back straight was dumbfounded when he put Ace out, after two falls in his previous 3 heats. -

I don't think he will be, on a 5.95 he might of priced himself out the market, how many times did Lawson let him pass on a 5-1/ 3-3, might of come back and bit him. Totally agree RR for him is probably a disadvantage, -

Never fallen off a bike at 60 mph before, came off twice on the road on a motorbike and it hurt like F00k. -

Like yourself Dr Shovlar, every team has that special fan. As long as if he's struggling Cammy pulls him from his 4th ride and use Lee in the right heats then what more can we ask. How's Roynons injury coming along? -

Track staff just posted a video on the supporters Facebook page and track is holding up well, fair play to them. So Dr Shovelar don't be cancelling your helicopter transfer just yet. -

I cannot for the life of me see this meeting on tomorrow, cue the conspiracy theorists as to why Glasgow are trying to manipulate to get the 2nd leg. -

No need to, Dr Shovelar's signed his fitness form he's good to go. Think the good Dr is also heading out to Denmark to carry out a fitness test on Claus later this afternoon. -

Semi final was us. Was also a two legged affair. But rainoffs pushed the first leg to Poole. -
He's going to be the envy of every other team in their building of next year since he's going to have had some experience but will still be on a 2 for 2024.

On the Shovelar fishing front; there's a difference between fishing and getting a bite with some cleverly placed bait and reeling in a prized trophy fish (metaphorically) Or theres the Shovelar method of throwing the biggest sticks of BS Dynamite into the pond and then basking in his own reflection when all the fish coming bobbing to the surface covered in Shovelar nonsense wondering what the hecks going on. -

As a Glasgow fan, I and probably most want the first leg, why? Because if we do like last year and the year before and completely collapse at Poole it makes the home meeting a waste of time. The attendance at last year's second leg was awful, so at least if we even manage a 10/12 points lead to take down there, there would at least be some optimism as opposed to a 22 point deficit to make up. -
Getting back home and watching it all over again, by far the superior product over Eurosport. Look forward to next year and do you know what, even Roynons growing on me now.

What in the world of utter crap are you talking about, if I was still a smoker I'd want some of whatever you're puffing on. Glasgow haven't even come close to beating Poole over two legs in any competition they have faced them in. So there are Zero Odds stacked against you and you are most definitely not the underdogs. -
Glasgow Vs Oxford play offs 26/9/23

While I don't knock him for trying his hardest, he is definitely missing a strong co commentator. Now surely they must be aware of the sterling effort Ian Brennan is doing at BSN and as long as it didn't conflict with his BSN work surely he's got to be on their radar. -
There's about 12 riders on or around the 7-8 mark, which will miss out in my opinion.
-
And that's what your £20 will get you compared to what you got for the exact same money this year.
-
Can you put an exciting 1-7 together on 36 points?
-
Well at least they have a few days in Tenerife to figure it all out.
