  1. Most definitely not (neither for or against brexit/politics have better things to do with my time), its the SCB that set the rules and for 2024 the "Tarresenko rule" that has clearly been hastily put together over a Wetherspoons lunch. Page 98 gives the breakdown of how the chicken bones landed on the table that day. Using Jaizers example Marcin who now rides in ekstraliga league two has a championship British average of 5.79. if he was a new assessed Pole he would now come in on an 8.5 because he rides in league one with an average over 6. As a showing of how frickin stupid this is he would come in on the exact same average as Kai Huckenbeck (Glasgow get the calculators out :) )
  2. There is lots of very good riders over there, problem is the SCB have made it virtually impossible to bring any over.
  3. You have one aggregate point in the bag, won away from home at Plymouth so that aggregate point is pretty much secured, Celina will never drop below a 4 average so I think stick with what you've got wait until just before the 75% league completion and then bring in a four pointer if needed.
  4. We had Basso, we had Claus we had Uly. All fighters. Just a change in team construction this year.
  5. That's the only part of Steve I'm not a fan of, if he ain't out the gate fast, he isn't going to be hanging off the bike for 4 laps riding the kickboards to get the win and that is most definitely lacking in heats 13 and 15. But what I'd say Glasgow's major issue is we're going in to far too many heat 13's and 15's needing a 5-1/4-2 because we've been put in that position with the middle order lacking heat advantages in their programmed rides up to that point.
  6. My concern or frustration would be with riders not making theirs, all league meetings to be fair are now two legged affairs fighting over 5 potential points. Going away from home if you can match or score just over your average it leaves the challenge at home far more manageable. Sitting on a 8/9 average your not going to put much on it if any. Your number 3, Second strings and reserves is where I'd be looking for increases
  7. Rider on a 8 average scores 9, fans not impressed!!
  8. You then have to rebuild the team to currently 38.5 points, so would need a heat leader and a second string in on 9 ISH points.
  9. You are completely right he is very very predictable. He has scored so far this season and wait for it it's "predictable" 9 away at Workington, 9 away at Oxford ,9 at home against Edinburgh, 9 at home against Oxford oh and 9 at home against Berwick I believe engine issues was the problem for the Workington at home match. He was signed on an 8.04 average, did we suddenly think that when he signed for Glasgow he'd be banging in 12 points a meeting???? So I wouldn't say he's "all Fart and no sh*tes" I'd say he's more 9 farts and probably 9 sh*tes If bookies took bets on how many Steve Worral is going to score in a night, I'd be putting your money on probably 9
  10. Yes the tigers are underperforming, the team was built to be strong at reserve with the strong reserve yet to turn a wheel. All those calling for a Starke replacement, who could you possibly get in to replace him on 3.5 points? If bomber and James push their averages up which looks likely then the 0.5 increase to team building in June won't help either. So one for one for Starke won't work so to replace him you have to drop someone else.........
  11. The only rider that's gone up any sort of level is James. The rest should stay well in their boxes until they can bang in a double digit score.
  12. I would go with the smoke pouring out the back of his bike in heat 1 last week, or engine giving up heat 3 this week as equipment issues not team set up.
  13. Some great racing tonight, picko was outstanding to watch even from the opposite side of the fence, Starke getting 2 was painful to watch, his two points came over max James who returned an Audi and Ace. Heat 10 he was half a lap behind. Good to see Worrall back on points and a great heat 15 and super heat. I'm positive there's going to be a shuffle coming up and hopefully before the next averages are out or we'll have even less to use.
  14. From those I was speaking with last night there seems to be a lot heading down, from watching the BSN, it looks like a cracking track.
  15. I've been led to believe that Workington there has been a fresh donut making van in the past, what is the likelihood of this returning for our meeting next Saturday?
  16. Cracking amount of Workington fans, Id heard they'd brought a coach load up with them. And they had their banners and air horns out. Was great to see.Hope we can take the same down next weekend to witness a spanking I think we'll be getting.
  17. Not a single mention on Jack Smith ?? 10 points last week 8 this week, Had the beating of batchlor heat 4, pushed hard in 14 against Claus and was unlucky to get swallowed up in heat 8. As a speedway fan heat 1 exclusion of cook was a joke, yes we can say it was by the letter of the law, however refereeing consistency in our sport is a joke.
  18. Is Jack allowed to guest for us again within 8 days or does it not count for a rider with no club?
  19. Steve Worral looking good out the gates tonight and also think he had more passes tonight than he did in 3 seasons at Wimborne road.
  20. Can Celina ever drop below a 4 as an assessed average? If Workington are in the hunt later in the season at the playoffs then surely then would be the time to make a change if she can't drop below 4. She isn't a million miles off the pace, her gating improved in her 3rd and 4th heat. As a neutral I love seeing her race and pushing, so I don't think I'd pull the trigger. I look forward to seeing her when she comes to ashfield in two weeks and is pushing our reserves.
  21. And who are we flying in this year? Nobody, they must be saving a fortune.
  22. If my granny had wheels she'd be a bike (gini d'acampo quote)
  23. It was either Basso or Bomber, but Claus would've fitted with the current line up, which is why all the head scratching. Again only guessing but on 30p/mile (or whatever they're getting) it's far cheaper from Berwick than it is from Denmark, that's the only reason I can think of.
  24. At Berwick and Ashfield yes, wait till he gets the joys of armadale and Plymouth.
  25. 100% he should've waited coming off bend 2 or 3 he had the speed, just up the inside and pushed him off.
