Jubilee championship league
Cast1rn replied to westlakejawa's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It’s in the star in a very brief part when Leicester were discussing all the problems they are facing. middlo was stating that both Cook boys were flying home Tuesday so for sure it’s off. Im guessing they’re in a pickle because they are still trying to figure out who’s fault it is -
This has to be looking for a bite? “better chance of winning the title” you have to be kidding, there are only 3 riders in the whole league who have scored more points away from home than at home and none of them ride for Leicester. The Thomson Twins would’ve been the deciding factor on wether Leicester would’ve turned over the 8 point deficit. be under no illusion, if certain riders didn’t get set in the right position before August and the playoffs there would’ve been changes most definitely in the Poole line up.

Well I’m glad now in the light of day the flack Glasgow got for pulling out maybe seems a bit unjust. I agree the statement used to explain why they were pulling the team out might not have sat well in all camps, but a statement of “we’re pulling out because this is a farce and will never be run” probably would’ve not looked so professional. -
Start, I would definitely consider him in any lineup, number 1 fill in for Newcastle was always going to be a tough order.

Great idea so Leicester get a trophy no matter what since they won the league, fair play on Zach being so generous, but I guess from that statement the riders have zero enthusiasm for racing another two legs of speedway in 2022. -
Free coaches?? So Leicester will have lost the gate for the final and your asking them to fork out Thousands for coaches to take people to Kings Lynn where they won’t see the ticket money anyway. it’s not Leicesters fault so why should they have to put themselves even further into the hole to get this farce of a season done.

So Principality stadium December 1st it is then? I bet all the Aussie’s are thrilled to be stuck here to get the Jubilee Cup done. -
Paul Starke is an absolute steal on his average, sedgeman I’m 50/50 on wether he can maintain a 7 average but definitely had fire under his butt this year,Craig came off of many injuries to return a 12 point haul from 4 rides on his return away at Redcar and with my reckoning is the 3rd highest rated #1 in the league but is now on an 8.45 average (steal) , if you take Charles and Craig at 1-5 they’ll be deadly. James Wright I just think was at the wrong club last year.

Just a wee bit again though I would love to see him back in the premier.

11.7 going by 1.5x his last average at Kings Lynn
-
It’s just the Plymouth meeting left which will affect the averages.

It’s been agreed already but for some reason they won’t say it’s 40 till after the AGM. -

Also super lucky that Zach’s last 14 meetings won’t count to his average next year as he’s been averaging 8.3 per meeting. Definitely a steal on 4.92 for next year. I wonder if they’ll keep Drew next year and hope his form improves? -

No way could it be planned that Zach could score less than drew in every meeting in June/July in the championship to get to the #6 spot. -

Not a chance drew will be kept on a 5.33 when Zach cook is sitting on a 4.92. Poole are incredibly lucky Zach had a really bad June/July and ended up at reserve or the playoffs and cups might have looked a little different. -
Glasgow have only lost two meetings at home in the last two seasons, firstly to Edinburgh the night after Uli’s major accident and secondly to Poole in this years playoffs with a decimated squad and a 30 point deficit. I don’t feel it’s going to change in the near future.
-
Scored 6 at Poole on his first visit there, don’t really think he was brought in to win the league, he was brought in to replace Justin who had dropped from the main body of the team and was struggling at reserve. In reality should’ve replaced Broc or Ricky. he stated then that he couldn’t come back this season due to Polish commitments but would be back in the future. He’s just announced that he’s left his polish club Łódz but hasn’t said where he’s going.
-
I wonder what Poole will do with the drop in averages, do you think they’re keeping Danny,Steve and Richie?
-
Over 10 point average will be hard to fit in anywhere.

Who’s available for number one ?

While I’m sure the talk on catering (very poor since it’s been outsourced and more expensive) and attendances makes for invigorating reading what line up do we see for 2023. im very much assuming that cookies time has come to an end, but looking at the league and available number 1’s I struggle to see who could come in to replace him. I’m sure all fans would have Basso back as number 1 but the chances of that are slim, so who else could it be? Bomber, Scott Nichols, nick Morris, Kyle Howarth??? At reserve I’m seeing every team is going to have to take a 2 pointer to maintain the strength in the main body of the team with a reduced team building average. this then leaves #6 probably the most important spot since he will potentially be picking up the 4th ride of number 7 every meeting. the rider who fits the number 6 role for me would be Paul starke, who on his current average must have had a phone call from every team manager in the league. Claus Vlissing making a return to Glasgow on a 5 average has surely got to be a possibility leaving 2020 on a 7.8 average at number 2 would be a steal. Tom Brennan surely will make another trip up the m74 for another season of improvement with the added burden of captain hopefully being handed to someone older and bolder in the team. number 5 is where I’m completely lost, do they hope Justin will maintain or improve on his 7.07 average in a season of vast improvement, probably fired on by the disappointment of his previous year. Lewi Kerr, MPT or another rider averaging on the 7-8 mark to offer some leadership when times are hard seemed to be what we lacked with Uli’s injuries in the last two seasons? finally is there an over seas star waiting to test their grit on the British tracks on a favourable 5 average or is Marcin Nowack going to make a surprise return for a full season as a tiger.
