  1. Kennedy at 6 will be extremely competitive and exciting to watch, as long as he’s recovered from his pelvic injury.
  2. Or would it maybe be that running an NDL team (think it’s 7 in the league this year I may be wrong)would mean they would have to run 10 league matches instead of 2 where they couldn’t charge for double header tickets.
  3. Kyle Bickleys best opportunity at 7 aswell. it all depends on how the team managers use the number 7, will they get 4 rides or will they be subject to heat 8 switch and only 3 rides. Ablitts average last year and his scoring on first glance look extremely underwhelming but the reality is out of the four rides where he should’ve been up against the oppositions 7 he only got two opportunities.
  4. I’m not sure how having less meetings protect the NDL? totally agree that the reality is that clubs running at a loss need to try and maintain there losses to a minimum. again on the lower attendances, not sure if who your home team is racing apart from the number of away fans that’ll show up affects the attendance figures. What does affect attendances is 8 week bloody gaps in the season. Again I think for riders the more meetings that can be offered result in the more potential pay days, which would do the opposite and make the championship more attractive.
  5. We’re already down by two teams if the result of being forced to go 16 home/ away meetings was financially not feasible then maybe we would be down by more than the two teams that were already gone.
  6. From what I’ve heard the majority of teams were.
  7. Guess we’ll be going to Armadale and Berwick for their home matches to fill up on the speedway.
  8. Hundred percent agree with the chap below, we (the wife and I) both get season tickets even if we’ll miss any because A. We want to support our club B. I’m not looking for £36 after work before heading to the speedway each week. I think it works out a £ cheaper a meeting to get the season ticket.
  9. Probably the best number 1 last season, (masters average is beyond I know and Nick Morris’ was massively weighted on home track scoring) MPT a real bargain on his average, think he’s kept in the 7’s both premier and championship for at least last 3 seasons. mountain will have been well sort after, after his end of year performances for both Sheffield and Leicester. Zaine Kennedy coming back of a massive injury but on a very low 4 point ish average will be one of the best #6’s in the country. and Joe Thompson finished the season better than his brother on a higher average so will be interesting to see how he does on his own without Dan.
  10. “Huge home track Advantage “??? a track that has more passes in one heat than Wimborne road and Armadale see in an entire season ??
  11. Just picked up the season tickets and thought to myself, Why the hell did they knock back 2 home 2 away meetings for this year?? 8 home meetings is somewhat disheartening when as some have previously mentioned the season runs from April till October that’s 24 weeks and only 8 home league meetings to fill the gap. this years ticket covers 8 home league meetings, two diddy cup meetings and 1 KO cup round. the premier if I’m also not mistaken are running 2h/2a , the pairs competition and the KO cup? So why was the assumed 2h/2a meetings reversed at the very last minute??
  12. How dare you express your opinion on a forum about speedway with regards to speedway riders, you’ve been told who the team is and your not allowed to speak again until Steve says so!!!!
  13. Definitely didn’t happen but a bloody good idea. I believe with the season ticket you’re saving around £1.5 a match and 5p off a program, but what has been stated you miss one match you’re not saving anything. For me it’s about paying upfront and not having to find £40 on a Friday night for tickets.
  14. Birmingham will do far better than predicted (playoffs) Berwick will prop up the table Glasgow, Scunthorpe and Redcar will be the top 3 Pooles number 6 will find miraculous form on or around the 1st August the season will not finish before October 31st
  15. Macdonald I believe is on 4 and has 2 new ankles to go with his 2 new eyes. But judging by his Twitter posts he doesn’t have a ride. hopefully 2024 with Comets back and even more hopefully WSM rebels there’ll be spots for everyone.
  16. I would just say having a look across the league this season were there any two pointers that improved ?
  17. Hummus starter to share , two chicken fillet wraps/ burgers with two sides and a bottomless drink £32 Last week Glasgow. Maybe in Englandshire slightly more expensive with the exchange rate.
  18. £50 for a meal, get yourself to Nandos before it’s too late
  19. Completely agree, the common theme seems to be 4 pointer at 6, 2 pointer at 7. Oxford going two x 2 pointers means if they make their average , the rest of the team need to average 2.1 per heat, loosely translated as Kerr and Masters have to maintain there average and then some to carry the team. Will be interesting come September to see which was the right way to go.
  20. That have never ridden in the UK before? When we already have an inexperienced number 7 who needs to have a zero pressure position to allow him to flourish. two inexperienced (at championship level) at reserve would’ve been a big risk.
  21. He would’ve been dropped if they needed the number 7 to perform, had Drew been at 6 for the playoffs you may have seen a different 2 pointer.
  22. I completely agree, with a drop in two points on the building, the teams had to reduced somewhere and it looks like all of the teams are going with a weaker looking reserve pairing.
  23. I too would say Dan but In the playoff finals he did not perform well at all.
  24. I feel it’s going to be trial by fire for these new 2 pointers.
