  1. That's the problem with being successful, everyone wants a piece of that success. I don't even think it's the riders that people dislike, 1-7, I think their outstanding riders and people.
  2. Obviously if it's about Poole everyone's going to jump on it, the difference being for other teams is their number one doesn't get Quoted on TV saying "our little trick up the sleeve starts" and immediately in the next Speedway star the week later the TM mentions about the difficulty they were having getting out their own starts and now they have "sorted the starts to their benefit." Every body hates Poole, so any news bite that can be grabbed and displayed, will be.
  3. Great stream again, and surprisingly lots of good passes. Cookie looks far better minus the tache and from Picko's words at the end he seems like an extremely determined captain.
  4. It was brought up at one of the Q&A's with the Facennas and don't quote me exactly but I believe it cost £5000 a meeting to have the stream done, because they had an outside company do it (same one as Celtic had during Covid), they didn't want a "big Dave and his go pro" having a go at it if they were asking people to pay for it so opted out of it.
  5. The Star edition your refering too is last week's I believe, page 22 if anyone's Interested. I also think it's a wee bit on the way the report has been written, suggesting that due to the fact that the scores have been close they then had to "have a word with the track curator" to make the starts more desirable. Again as has been mentioned, you can prod the ground with a screwdriver and kick it as much as you like, 5 mins later put a 5 tonne tractor round it a couple of times, spray some water on it and the composition will completely change. It somewhat amazes me that unlike tarmacked based sports where the resistance of the track is measured, speedway relies on one man and a £1.50 Lidl's screwdriver. On the tactical front i dont think Middlo was stating they had deliberately adjust the track to have an unfair advantage, more that the advantage that the may of had in the past (which their more than entitled to) wasn't their and the home riders set ups weren't matching how the track should be performing so they had a word with the curator to try something different.
  6. Didn't do too bad tonight either.
  7. Dont think there's anyone else to fit in. Was Lee on a Marcin Bike in heat 14?
  8. Every faller, he's there before the first aiders, the guy is pure class personified. If he keeps this demolition backing for another few seasons I'd ask the Facennas to relocate the Harris's north
  9. I hope he doesn't even think of hanging his kevlars up in 2024.
  10. Anyone object to having Bomber race at Glasgow for the next 3 years??
  11. Sometimes you talk sense and then other times not so much. If you knew how a team was going to perform pre season then you'd be the richest TM in the league. Oxford Gambled big time with two, two pointers, had Atkins and Kinsley struggled and not increased they're averages they would be in the big poo, with fans screaming "why did you gamble" there would be absolutely nothing they could do. Henry Atkins putting 3+ points on his average in 2 1/2 months is more than Basso could do on his all last season, what that means is that a struggling Heeps is know the experience at 6. If they had Lewi fit at 3 I genuinely think they'd have a chance to push Poole for the trophy. Glasgows Gamble was on Lee complin, Nobody else and if you look at the GSA he is the ONLY rider not performing. Had he managed to do a fraction of what Henry has done (put two points on his average, bearing in mind he was racing against a lot of 2 pointers.) then if Nowak or Claus struggled, regardless we would've had a strong #6. The reality is he didn't and there's noone to replace him with. 2 seasons ago the club dropped Justin when he was struggling, do you think for one minute they are holding onto Lee because they think he can improve?
  12. from all the two pointers, definitely not who I'd pick at the start of the season, but what an improvement. With Marcin only needing 4 meetings for his CMA this year and based on his 2021 scoring it was always going to put a big gap between our reserves and #2. Oxford gambled with 2x2 pointers and it's definitely paying off.
  13. It's who he's beating that's of major concern. He scores in his first heat and maybe 14 (at home) with the exception of Birmingham and Edinburgh he can't beat anything over two points. Last night was the exact same as Redcar away, if Claus and Tom have a difficult evening we lose and lose badly. I also completely understand that if you don't finish top it doesn't matter where you finish in the top 6 with regards to playoffs but it's the way we will lose that's of disappointment. 4 pointer wise, it really doesn't matter who they find, but I'd give someone a go and I'd do it soon to allow who evers coming in a chance to get dialled in to ashfield Before the playoffs period is upon us.
  14. I'd only ready his piece in the star, surely there is someone out there who could score more than 2
  15. What about the homeless Aussie in the star or take a gamble on a 2 pointer, we seem to have missed the boat, when hook was available or James Pearson.
  16. Finishing out the top 3 is surely a very realistic probability, if you were in the driving seat where would you make the 1 change that could make a worthwhile difference?
  17. Not bad for his first visit to Oxford, will wait for the "bringing back Marcin was a mistake" brigade to voice their opinions again. Same as Redcar away, tight meetings with a strong heat leaders and one strong reserve (Heeps tonight, Edwards at Redcar) and we just can't get heat advantages in heats 12 and 14. So it leaves it 50/50 on how the meeting plays out, From the results in heats 13 and 15. Barring in mind going into heat 12 we were only 4 points down. We are majorly struggling at 6 and looking at tonight's result I think finishing out of the top 3 is looking very realistic.
  18. He raced all season for Lodz in the first division. That's what stopped him racing for us last year. Then We had Connor and and Danyon at reserve which would've been cool to see how that would've worked out.
  19. Battle of the reserves and I think Heeps is going to get the better of Lee, I will also assume Kinsley will only get 3 rides. So if we can keep it to a loss of 12-16 we'll have a chance for the aggregate point when they do get round to rearranging the meeting for mid November.
  20. Depends what the team building averages are? If they go as low as 36, if that's the case expect to see 70% of the team change.
  21. Everyone seems to miss who Nowak was brought in to replace. It was Broc Nicol, not Connor or Danyon. Everyone's expectations were based on a guy riding at number 6 with only 9 meetings in the UK. Again as the other informed forum members have stated it's about TEAM building, you have to make it fit with 7 riders. Basso Brennan and Harris left enough for 5,5,4,2 to fill the team that's it, no more no less. So when the statements of "it was a mistake".What else would you have done?? People have said, "oh we could've got another Dane like Bastian in", but again the reality is you can bring in any rider on a 5 average and they could be an instant flop or you can get a gem. Glasgow seemed to have gone with a guy who had 9 British meetings under his belt with the hope of improving. I agree he's maybe a point/point and a half short of where I'd hope he'd be at,but by Christ he's not as shockingly bad as Broc was last year, the difference being we had two strong Reserves to support Broc we don't have that at present.
  22. It seemed to catch Basso and Brennan out last year, they were done by the time the playoffs came around.
