  1. Haha, good point. There's probably more of them turn up, but they're certainly not as noisy or passionate as Plymouth fans.
  2. It's always great to see the Plymouth supporters at Sandy Lane, waving the huge flags. Got to say I don't think there's such passionate supporters from any other visiting team, always creates a great atmosphere.
  3. Yep, imagine if Oxford had got someone like Erik Riss in for Atkins (I think it would have just about fitted when Boughen and Killeen were on 2.00 averages, although I haven't checked). With the form Heeps has shown, they'd have been real title contenders. That side is better than Poole's in my opinion - alas it wasn't to be. 1. Masters 2. Jenkins 3. Heeps 4. Riss 5. Nicholls 6. Killeen 7. Boughen That said, I guess it's also nice they've shown loyalty... but a trophy would also have been good.
  4. Oxford have arguably been robbed of three away wins by poor decisions (Workington, Killeen excluded - Redcar, Nicholls excluded - Berwick, Killeen excluded). Thankfully they should still make the playoffs, but hopefully the luck will start to even itself out!
  5. In the Pairs at Sandy Lane last year he was doing wheelies down the straights while in last position, so it's a fair comment about whether he turns up or not - he was a disgrace. Try respecting the fans and perhaps he'll get the same level of respect in turn.
  6. Pairs line-up. Oxford got to be hot favourites for this, with Glasgow challengers again (depending on Worrall's fitness). PLYMOUTH: Ben Barker & Dan Thompson BERWICK: Lewis Kerr & Drew Kemp GLASGOW: Chris Harris & Steve Worrall (TBC) REDCAR: Charles Wright & Danny King EDINBURGH: Josh Pickering & Justin Sedgmen WORKINGTON: Troy Batchelor & Craig Cook SCUNTHORPE: Michael Palm Toft & Kyle Howarth POOLE: Richard Lawson & Ben Cook OXFORD: Scott Nicholls & Sam Masters
  7. Oxford go top of the league with a win, but might be a tough ask with William Cairns at reserve for Belle Vue. The Colts also have rider replacement for Luke Muff. The Chargers have Max Perry in for Jason Garrad and Jamie Etherington for Alex Spooner. Belle Vue: 1. Sam Hagon, 2. Jack Shimelt, 3. R/R, 4. Matt Marson, 5. Freddy Hodder, 6. William Cairns, 7. Harry McGurk Oxford: 1. Luke Killeen, 2. Ashton Vale, 3. Jamie Etherington, 4. Max Perry, 5. Jody Scott, 6. Jacob Clouting, 7. Senna Summers Belle Vue 50-40 Oxford
  8. Well I know of at least one flat white-loving individual that does! But I was talking about those that live within said conurbation, and how they get a sporting fix.
  9. Another thing that potentially helps Poole is the lack of other major sporting attractions taking place in and around the city. Happy to be corrected, but other than Bournemouth football I'm not sure there's much else for people to get their professional sporting fix. Very similar situation at Oxford. Probably no coincidence that these two are doing so well.
  10. Oh, good spot. Not sure how he slipped through the net. Make that 25 our of 49. Apologies.
  11. That's a bit of a myth. As somebody pointed out earlier, there are quite a few Premiership riders not in the Championship. Edit: I've had a look and just over half don't ride in the Champ (26 out of 49 in the latest declared line-ups). Bewley, Blodorn, Kurtz, Lidsey, Lampart, Lindgren, Pawlicki, Doyle, Ellis, Rew, Sayfutdinov, Iversen, Klindt, Kvech, Rowe, Wojdylo, Becker, Douglas, Fricke, Janowski, Riss, Tungate, C.Holder, J.Holder, Howarth, Woffinden
  12. I'd say it's pretty likely Oxford will be doing all three again. Crowds are very good, fans seem to like the regular weekly racing and I imagine the money is pouring in. If they were to drop one - I'd imagine it would be the Championship that goes, but I doubt (and very much hope) that will not happen.
  13. Of course you're allowed to talk, I simply asked you why you brought up the Tarasenko issue (and claiming Glasgow were gifted the title) if it's water under the bridge? Try answering the question this time!
  14. If it's water under the bridge, why did you bring it up.... AGAIN?
  15. Yep agreed. Although, to be fair, there was also going to be the need for some fine tuning when a new rule is introduced. What's not really acceptable is the lack of flexibility when it comes to certain situations - some common sense should prevail, especially if a club is clearly not exploiting it as in Workington's case. All this is doing is preventing another rider from getting a full-time spot (and earning a wage).
  16. Probably something similar to the meltdown you had the day Glasgow signed him.
  17. Stop bleating on about it. You lost. How about you accept you were beaten by the better team, take it like a man and move on? The rule book didn't 'gift' Glasgow the title, they still had to go out on the track and win it....and that's exactly what they did. The title was won thanks to an excellent signing and some excellent riding.
  18. And he certainly didn't disappoint again. What a talent! Championship clubs will be throwing the cheque book at him come the end of June next year.
  19. Looking bleak for Oxford's title chances, but a must-win for the Chargers to keep any slim hopes alive. William Cairns could well be the trump card, especially with Jody Scott, Ashton Vale and Jason Garrad all unavailable. Middlesbrough: Jake Mulford, Kai Ward, Danny Phillips, Jamie Halder, Ben Trigger, Ben Rathbone, William Hocaniuk. Oxford: Luke Killeen, Alex Spooner, Matt Marson, William Cairns, Max Perry, Jacob Clouting, Senna Summers.
  20. Jody Scott out and Connor Coles in as a guest.
  21. It's surely not going to be as easy as some people think. With Ashton Boughen in the main body of the team, you'd have to say Drew Kemp and Leon Flint are a stronger 3/4 pairing than Boughen and Jenkins. Lewis Kerr is always going to get a decent haul of points as well, and Joe Thompson is a pretty strong reserve - especially compared to Killeen and Scott. Oxford clearly stronger at 1 and 5, and Heeps is a bit of a trump card at 2... but it'll be a battle I think. Oxford 51-39.
  22. And neither have the Cheetahs. In fact the only Cheetahs changes since the start of LAST season are the addition of Ashton Boughen and the dropping of Kerr for Killeen (which was due to averages). Strange comment.
  23. Paid maximums for Lewis Kerr and Drew Kemp coming up.... Oxford Cheetahs: 1. Sam Masters, 2. Cameron Heeps, 3. Ashton Boughen, 4. Jordan Jenkins, 5. Scott Nicholls, 6. Luke Killeen, 7. Jody Scott. Berwick Bandits: 1. Lewis Kerr, 2. Danyon Hume, 3. Drew Kemp, 4. Leon Flint, 5. Jye Etheridge, 6. Freddy Hodder, 7. Joe Thompson.
  24. Great result for the Oxford management.
