I think we've crossed wires here. I wasn't talking about Simon Lambert's performances in isolation, I was talking about you comparing him to Scott Nicholls (and Nicholls when the track was dry). Anyway, let's draw a line under it as I don't think we're going to agree, and look forward to tonight instead.
-
So, just to clarify.... are you saying Lambert is an improvement on Nicholls, or not? Because I read your 'he [Lambert] got 12 last year, double what Nicholls did in the play off final' as quite different to foreverblue's 'He [Lambert] will give his best but Scott Nicholls he isn't'. So which point are you trying to make, because I'm obviously 'not reading it properly'?

Paul Muchene. He may not have been a future world champion, but was an honest rider who was starting to make his way in the sport. Taken too early after a horrific crash at Hackney in 1989.

Outside of Poole circles, I think you'd be surprised. You, on the other hand, are well known for providing pretty unbiased and sensible posts, which is a breath of fresh air when it comes to Poole fans (not trying to blow smoke up your proverbial, mind, haha). Anyway, if she was trying to say what you've summarised, then I agree....but she certainly had difficulty getting that point across.

This is a very valid point. I personally don't think Vinnie was at fault for all of the accidents, although he's certainly 'excitable'. However those saying he's dangerous have offered some valuable advice (speak to more senior riders, accept responsibility, know when to go for a gap and when to shut off to prevent an accident, etc.), however the Poole fans defending him have just said "he's not dangerous" and left it at that. Not that Vinnie is ever going to read this forum...but if he did, I'm sure he's appreciate some friendly advice.

Fair point, it was last year, not two years ago. Not sure why that required a 'lol' other than to be patronising. Have some humility and you might be liked more on here. It's definitely 'interesting' that you're glossing other everything else I said, though! And you definitely got the last bit right.

So - by your logic - we need to compare Lambert like-for-like on a wet track from two years ago (I'm sure nothing has changed in two years, right?), but we have to compare Lambert to Nicholls when he scored six on a dry track? You're making less sense each post! Let's not forget you started this by saying Lambert's inclusion as a guest will make it interesting! Anyway, I guess time will tell. I'll remind you of your original post when Poole win by 20+ points. Maybe Lambert will perform a miracle.

Absolutely. If he rides anything like he did for Oxford in 2023, then he'll be a more than good enough heat leader in a weaker league.

Nope... you read it right. Boughen back for 2025

Glasgow B. 10-team Championship next season!

I personally think Lewis Kerr would be a decent signing. He struggled in 2024 after an early injury and never really recovered his best form. He's on a bit of a false average, so has the potential to improve on it if he regains full fitness/confidence.

Yeah, Jody Scott seems like a logical choice at reserve.

Thoughts on the Oxford Cheetahs team for 2025? They may have reached the Playoff and KO Cup finals, but feels like there could be a few changes for next season. Ashton Boughen has left the Spires, and lots of rumours of him going to Glasgow. Will Scott Nicholls carry on? Is Cameron Heeps past his best (he's had a great season, but little chance of him improving his average)? Luke Killeen has already signed, and Sam Masters and Jordan Jenkins are pretty much nailed on to stay I would have thought. Dan Gilkes seems like another potential candidate seeing as he seems to like it at Oxford.
