  1. Here's a novel idea. If they want to pick the likes of Kvech and Huckenbeck (which is ridiculous by the way) as they have GPs in those countries, why not have only 14 permanent riders and have 2 wild cards at each GP? It means every venue is guaranteed to have two riders, and then there would be at least one extra space for a sensible regular wildcard pick.
  2. Think it also depends who Oxford get in as guests. Gilkes (who hasn't excelled at Poole in the past) and Scott are probably not going to score many points either.
  3. Schroeck was interviewed at length during the Under-19 Championship today. Gave the usual spiel about how proud of the boys he was, happy with a 12-point lead etc., etc., but never once mentioned anything about heat 12. Either he is keeping quiet, or he still doesn't realise his mistake. I'm going for the latter.
  4. Not too sure why some Oxford fans would behave that way. From my experience, it only seems to be when Poole fans visit. They do seem to have this way of rubbing the Oxford fans up the wrong way - probably due to their success to be fair, jealously does weird things to people. Personally I love the Poole meetings, always a great atmosphere and always good friendly banter. A good rivalry is what makes speedway great, and there doesn't seem to be many bigger than Poole-Oxford at the moment, despite Oxford's recent return. Anybody making gestures to kids needs to have a word with themselves.
  5. Lee Harrison in for Sam McGurk and Jamie Etherington in for Ben Trigger. Expect Vinnie Foord might be a doubt as well after yesterday's crash. Parking available at the stadium for those travelling by car.
  6. Biggest ever Oxford crowd? Crowds were literally three times the size of that in the Hans Nielsen days in the 80s. Not even close.
  7. To be fair, Harris would never be one to jeopardise a future guesting opportunity.
  8. Problem is, (most) Poole fans think they are going to win every meeting...and they do not like it when they don't.
  9. I'm disappointed in Schroeck's poor management, but that's Poole's biggest loss of the season. I'd have taken 51-39 before the start. Bravo Sam Masters. Well done Dan Gilkes as well, 8+1 is decent return from four rides.
  10. Quite hard to predict how the second leg will go. Oxford's two visits to Poole this season have been a 49-41 win and 61-29 loss - somewhere in the middle most probably.
  11. While Boughen is carrying an injury, he is prone to completely disappearing in meetings. It's hard to believe the rider I'm watching tonight is the same one that got a 15-point maximum at Redcar. Very inconsistent, but still very young.
  12. Killeen likes it against Poole. They must be sick of the sight of him.
  13. Expected line-up for tomorrow: 1. Sam McGurk 2. Ashton Boughen 3. Freddy Hodder 4. Jody Scott 5. Sonny Springer, 6. Luke Killeen 7. Ben Trigger 8. Vinnie Foord 9. William Cairns 10. Ashton Vale 11. Max Perry 12. Stene Pijper 13. Ace Pijper 14. Luke Harrison 15. Senna Summers 16. Max James Reserves: William Hocaniuk and Jamie Etherington.
  14. My comment was more the fact that there is likely to be some sort agreement already in place for Oxford to declare they are running in three leagues, otherwise they would have surely waited. It wasn't an 'Oxford are doing this, so screw the rest of the league comment'. Strange how some people take comments the wrong way.
  15. Neither do any of the other 14 to be fair - maybe they shouldn't bother.
  16. The simple fact Oxford have already stated they will be doing all three leagues again next season suggests there's no way it's returning to 2 home and 2 away format in 2025. They would never be able to fit all the fixtures in.
  17. Absolutely. Brilliant racing and an even better city. It's win-win.
  18. Jack Holder hasn't got four points yet, you've got the wrong scoring system (plus he actually needs five points due to countback)... ...but Tom Brennan was already in the GP Challenge thanks to Ļebedevs winning the SEC. Jacob Thorssell qualifies should Holder (or Kubera) overhaul Michelsen.
  19. You seem to have missed my point. My argument wasn't whether Russians should be allowed in the sport or not... it was if they are allowed, they shouldn't have to go through the qualifiers to get back into the SGP.
  20. Hope so. Would much rather have Ben Cook riding against us at home than Danny King.
  21. There's no reason Oxford can't race on other days of the week. We get good crowds whenever we race! 😁
