Such as... Masters has been pretty unlucky when it comes to GP qualification. Won the Oz Championship in 2018 and was in the qualifiers the year before (the last time he made an appearance). Then finished top 4 in 2019, but wasn't in them for some reason (injury?). Had a poor 2020 and therefore missed out again in 2021. Pretty sure he would make the top four in most people's list of non-GP Australians.

Of being able "to offer more than most". Literally says it in his post.

Who cares if it is underhand? It's a business, and that ruthless approach is one of the reasons that has made Poole so successful over the years (as much as I hate to admit it). It's as much Plymouth's fault as it is Poole's if they can't keep hold of a rider. If it was illegal I'm sure Plymouth would have been straight down to their lawyers.

I'm not 100% sure Arthur54 and Trackrat aren't the same person. Would explain a lot.

He basically disrespected you twice and you ended up saying “thanks” to him! You write what you want to write about, it’s not his own personal forum or thread.
-
You’d hope Killeen - a rider starting on a 3.00 average that also has a spot in a Championship team - to add more in my opinion. Otherwise Oxford have got it very wrong for the Cheetahs.
-
What sort of news Steve?
-
Pretty strong team that, especially if Killeen shows his true potential - basically four heat leaders!
-
Exactly. So Jenkins went to No.7 in the team.....while also riding for Redcar and Oxford. Three teams, and the same time, while not a No.8 for Peterborough. Sigh. I was trying to prove a point, but it has appeared to go over your head.
-
So Peterborough had two No.8s with Jake Mulford?
-
Pretty sure Jenkins was Peterborough's No.7 last year after Palin's injury, with Jake Mulford the No.8.
-
Why can't he ride in all three leagues? Jenkins did last year didn't he (Peterborough, Redcar and Oxford). Has there been a rule change? And I naturally thought Boughen would stick with Peter Schroeck, no? What's his link to Leicester?
-
Funny you should say that, I just looked through the website trying to find an answer. There's no mention of it in ticket section, but the press release/news story states the following... *Advanced tickets are available until midnight the day before the event date. The above admission prices include a ticket booking fee.

If Jenkins isn't going to be doing the NDL, what about trying to tempt Dan Gilkes with Plymouth not racing? He might want the meetings coming back from injury as he is, and he was very impressive when racing at Sandy Lane last year... Dan Gilkes - 10.30 Henry Atkins - 7.24 Sam Hagon - 6.18 Jody Scott - 5.88 Ashton Boughen - 4.95 Arran Butcher - 4.36 Luke Killeen - 3.00 Total - 41.91 or if you wanted to go a little more top heavy.... Dan Gilkes - 10.30 Nathan Stoneman - 8.67 Henry Atkins - 7.24 Ashton Boughen - 4.95 Arran Butcher - 4.36 Luke Killeen - 3.00 Kiean Boughen - 3.00 (or any other 3pter) Total - 41.52

Yeah, fair point. I normally buy mine as soon as they go on sale, but I'm sure there are plenty of people that did buy on the day last season.
-
I think the big question about the price increase is whether a booking fee is still included. There's currently no mention of it on the Oxford website (there was before). If the new £20 ticket price does include the booking fee, it's only a £1 increase over last season (£18+£1) - that's not too bad considering the current circumstances.
-
Oxford have announced ticket prices for next season. Cheetahs £20 adult in advance (under 16 free) £22 adult on the pay on the day (under 16 free) £18 last year, so a jump of £2 (or £4). Pay on the day is still an e-ticket (not at the gate), so not sure why it's more expensive. Chargers £12 adult in advance (under 16 free) £14 adult on the pay on the day (under 16 free) Same prices as last season (£2 extra for on the day purchase). Season passes Season tickets are £269. This includes 8x Cheetahs SGB Championship home matches, 2x Cheetahs BSN Series home matches, 1x Cheetahs Knockout Cup home match, 7x Chargers home fixtures.

Anybody got any thoughts on the potential Oxford Chargers team for 2023? Presuming Atkins and Killeen are certainties, and don't see why Jenkins won't be back. Could look pretty similar to last year (which is no bad thing), and presume Oxford will be the Boughen brothers first choice if Mildenhall don't run. 1. Jordan Jenkins 2. Jody Scott 3. Henry Atkins 4. Luke Killeen 5. Nathan Stoneman 6. Kiean Boughen 7. Ashton Boughen Think that team fits the 42pt limit. Thoughts?

Rider who rides same track every week, gets good at it. Not really a surprise.
-
He only rode a few meetings for Oxford as he broke both his wrists - and then tried to come back too soon. Was very hit and miss, but capable of beating almost anyone in this league on his day. Great signing for his average I’d say. I also loved how passionate he was - really celebrated every time he won a race. It clearly meant a lot to him each time.
-
Yes, thanks for all that, but Luke is still Australian. He’s racing over here as an Australian. Not sure what you’re trying to prove exactly? That he’s not Australian?
-
It literally says he’s Australian in the Oxford press release about their 2023 line-up, but sure, you know better! I suppose you think Marvyn Cox is German.

Grand Prix Rules.

It would be unfair because they have already earned those points by completing the qualifying heats. Thats how the scoring system works. Replacing a semi-finalist with the ninth placed finisher would mean actually taking points AWAY from an injured rider. It’s a completely different matter if he hasn’t already scored the points before the qualifying heats have finished.
