  1. Yes, you can take fold up chairs. There's plenty of space for them, especially on the third and fourth bends.
  2. There's one big 'Buster Chapman' shaped difference between the Emil rumours and these rumours!
  3. The loss of Luke Killeen at reserve is a big blow for Oxford. There's no way Sam Woods gets close to his scoring, so that instantly makes it closer than it might have been. That's going to be a problem for Oxford until Killeen returns, literally like losing a heat leader that you can't replace. Oxford should still win in my opinion, but it'll be competitive. Sam Hagon could be the trump card for Belle Vue having been a Charger last year.
  4. No we're a couple of months into the season, how is everything now feeling about their pre-season predictions? I think Glasgow and Poole look the standout teams, with the likes of Redcar (not doing as well as I thought) and Oxford (looking better than I thought) behind them. Scunthorpe, Edinburgh, Berwick Plymouth and Birmingham after that.
  5. Yeah, I'm sure the travelling Plymouth fans would have loved to see Nicholls and Masters ram home another 5-1! I was there, and the Plymouth fans cheered Barker home in heat 15. I'm sure they were glad of something (however small) to celebrate. Maybe one of them can clarify if they are on here. It also gave the Oxford youngsters yet more track time, which can only be a good thing for the Chargers. I'm sure there are cases where heat 15s are a joke, but don't think it's the case on this occasion. Win-win in my opinion.
  6. Christ, steady on! The score was 55-29 going into the final heat of a match that meant nothing to either side.
  7. Tough meeting for Plymouth, but can only beat what’s in front of you I guess. Scott Nicholls continues to roll back the years - his pass on Ben Barker was brilliant - and Sam Masters never looked threatened. Henry Atkins also seems to be getting better each week, and Ryan Kinsley certainly wasn’t outclassed. Felt sorry for those Plymouth fans, though. The ones that made the trip were fantastic. Fair play. Oh and heat 15 tonight was one of the strangest things I've seen in a while.
  8. Oxford just tweeted Kyle Howarth is now riding, and it’s rider replacement for Paul Starke.
  9. Rider replacement for Jenkins, and Kinsley in for Killeen. No great surprise... Oxford Cheetahs: Sam Masters, Cameron Heeps, Lewis Kerr, Jordan Jenkins R/R, Scott Nicholls, Henry Atkins, Ryan Kinsley. Plymouth Gladiators: Kyle Howarth R/R, Connor Coles, Paul Starke, Ben Barker, Richie Worrall, Lee Complin, Ben Trigger.
  10. 100% agree with you. Ashton Boughen is definitely a future star. I've seen him race at Oxford twice. He blew me away last year for the Chargers on what was his competitive debut, I think, scoring 7+1 from 4 rides. Then he was superb for Leicester a couple of weeks ago - finishing ahead of Henry Atkins, Dan Thompson and Luke Killeen (including a pass), all Championship reserves. He'll surely be snapped up by a Championship club as soon as he hits 16.
  11. Not too much at stake here except pride, but should be a good meeting. Looking forward to seeing how Gilkes does, as he seems like Sandy Lane. Presume Jenkins and Killeen will be missing for Oxford. Any ideas on the replacements?
  12. Read that as Jason Garrity for a minute!!
  13. Joe Thompson guests for Jenkins at Mildenhall. Sam Woods in for Killeen.
  14. It's all a bit weird. Concussion was mentioned on the doctors note from the broken nose crash, so he's currently out for nine days (hence why he missed the Belle Vue meeting), but apparently he's gone to hospital tonight to try and get the all-clear. As it stands he's out of the Mildenhall meeting, but it could change. I think!
  15. So it looks like Luke Killeen has only chipped a bone and not broken his wrist, and will only be out for a few weeks.
  16. Not sure of his average, but guess Kinsley is the obviously replacement now. Here's a curveball, though, what about Sam Hagon? He's started the season on fire in the NDL, showed he wouldn't be totally outclassed at this level in that Swindon challenge match at Poole and has experience of the Oxford track having raced a full season with the Chargers last year.
  17. Looking like Luke Killeen will be out for a while after his crash at Belle Vue last night, which is a bit of a blow.
  18. Oxford has confirmed that Jenkins is fit to race, so that's a relief. Belle Vue Colts: Jack Smith, Luke Muff, Sam Hagon, Matt Marson, James Pearson, Jack ShimeIt, Freddy Holder. Oxford Chargers: Jordan Jenkins, Jacob Clouting, Henry Atkins, Jody Scott, Ryan Kinsley, Luke Killeen, Jacob Fellows.
  19. Guessing Jenkins must be a doubt for Oxford after his broken nose at Ipswich tonight. Would be a huge loss.
  20. It’s provocative because a lot of money was spent and lost as a result of the cancellation, and you think it’s acceptable to make a joke about it. Congratulations, give yourself a pat on the back.
  21. Fair enough. If that’s what works for them. A lot of other clubs don’t take that route though, so it should come as no surprise that opposing fans find that strange - and, as I said, I think that’s why some people (including myself, rightly or probably more likely wrongly) wondered if there was an ulterior motive. Let’s draw a line under it there.
  22. Provocative posts like that don’t help the situation.
  23. But it never needed to be a repeat! As I’ve said, the meeting could have gone ahead, so they should have given it every chance. If the weather looked rubbish just beforehand, that was the time to cancel it if the promotion were that worried about a repeat of Berwick. An early call off is only good for fans and riders if it’s definitely not going to happen. At the end of the day some Oxford fans and Glasgow fans are obviously not going to agree, that’s the nature of the beast. I’m not going to hold any grudges, everyone is entitled to their opinion.
  24. Doesn’t that just prove my point? If the weather is so unpredictable, why call off a meeting in the morning? It’s just as likely to be sunny 15mins later isn’t it? Or if you want to be really pedantic. Why not call off every single Glasgow home meeting in the morning because the weather is so unpredictable?
  25. Dan looked like he struggled with the track conditions early on, but he got more comfortable as the meeting progressed. He was just well beaten by Jenkins a couple of times, which is no real surprise around Oxford. They're arguably the two best riders in the league. Was very impressed with Ryan Kinsley. He had to battle hard for his points, but to get a paid 11 from 4 rides on his debut bodes well for the future. Oxford definitely look strong with four 'heat leaders' in their team...and I'm sure Jody Scott will also get stronger.
