  1. I presume people probably want to know, as they're wondering if there's a way to keep Woffinden once Holder returns. I know I'd be looking to keep him if he's on a 7.03 average. For instance Woffinden is only 0.79 higher than Pickering (6.24) and they have 0.54 to play with. A bit of jiggling around and it's feasible Holder and Woffinden could be riding in the same team, no?
  2. A lot could depend on how fit Kerr and Killeen are (think it will only the the second meeting back for both of them). Last visit Jenkins, Heeps, Atkins and Kinsley only managed six points between them, and you’d probably expect Oxford’s bottom four to score more this time around - that said it’s never easy to score points at Poole. Even if it’s not close on the night, should be very competitive for the bonus. Going 49-41.
  3. It’s the nature of the rain offs that’s the problem. It’s well documented that Oxford have a large catchment area made up of Reading and Swindon fans, I myself travel from London for instance - so it’s not just Scunthorpe fans that suffered. The above message is no solution to appease fans that were unhappy about the call offs, listen to them and learn instead. That’s the key to keeping the Oxford success story going - and I hope it happens. The work that was done was commendable, but perhaps a little too foolhardy in the circumstances.
  4. You're missing the one page about Poole (on every thread).
  5. Does anybody on here ever update anything on Wikipedia? I went to do some updates today for the first time in ages, and it looks like everything is being kept well up to date - a couple of usernames appear regularly across UK and international competitions, not to mention individual rider pages. Is there a place Wikipedia users collaborate to get missing results for updates etc.?
  6. Think the SIS contract was signed in June 2021 - long before the stadium itself even reopened.
  7. Yep, every Monday night there is currently an SIS greyhound meeting, so little hope for that to change.
  8. The main problem for me is that the rain had passed by 6pm (ish) and Oxford said the meeting was still on at this stage. With no further rain falling, most fans obviously presumed the track was in a fit state to race and travelled, paid for tickets (at £2 extra), bought programmes etc., etc. Now I've no complaints with Oxford delaying a call off while waiting for the rain to stop and checking out the state of the track, but it was obvious (at 6pm) it wasn't going to happen. That's when the call off should have happened and saved everybody's time and money. No riders even went out on a bike to test it, suggesting the track was a long way from being in a fit state to race. Oxford returning has been a dream for me and I love the club, but there have been some very questionable decisions (especially this season). Will it stop me from going again? No it won't, but there's probably less passionate fans that simply don't feel the same way.
  9. That's not technically true. There are multiple fixtures on a Tuesday and even a couple of a Friday this season. As far as I know, the only race nights that are off limits are the nights that the greyhounds are on.
  10. Yeah Jamie Courtney is going around and scraping it off at the moment.
  11. Meeting delayed until 8pm so they can work on the track.
  12. Coming from Poole fans that are all over this thread for no apparent reason! Don’t see Plymouth fans doing it.
  13. Starting to look like this fixture might go ahead, perhaps? Most of the rain looks like it's passed, and Oxford haven't announced it's been postponed. A lot of standing water about, though.
  14. Luke Killeen back in the team in place of Ryan Kinsley, plus Lewis Kerr and Scott Nicholls also return. Rider replacement for Michael Palm Toft. At the moment it looks like the weather is going to win, though, with heavy rain forecast from the middle of the night. Won't mention the extra £2 for booking tickets on the day in case I upset some people! Oxford Cheetahs: 1. Sam Masters, 2. Henry Atkins, 3. Lewis Kerr, 4. Jordan Jenkins, 5. Scott Nicholls, 6. Cameron Heeps, 7. Luke Killeen. Scunthorpe Scorpions: 1. Ryan Douglas, 2. Connor Mountain, 3. Simon Lambert, 4. R/R, 5. Jake Allen, 6. Nathan Ablitt, 7. Drew Kemp.
  15. Oxford has the cash and Peter Shroeck used to (if not still does) mentor him. Just not sure how he fits into the team, though, as they seem heavily invested in Luke Killeen. They also can't offer him the practice opportunities of some other clubs. That's one of the main reasons he chose Leicester over Oxford in the NDL this season I believe.
  16. And what did he do while he wasn’t in the UK? Was he working? You can put a turd in a dress, but it’s still a turd!
  17. Redcar to end Oxford's unbeaten start to the Championship? Sam Masters okay to race for Oxford after being released by Australia, and Kyle Howarth guesting for Lewis Kerr. Redcar Bears: 1. Danny King, 2. Danyon Hume, 3. Connor Bailey, 4. Erik Riss, 5. Charles Wright, 6. Jason Edwards, 7. Luke Harrison Oxford Cheetahs: 1. Sam Masters, 2. Henry Atkins, 3. Kyle Howarth (G), 4. Jordan Jenkins, 5. Scott Nicholls, 6. Cameron Heeps, 7. Ryan Kinsley
  18. It’s off. No surprise… https://twitter.com/oxfordspeedway/status/1684264727692574721?s=46&t=6_c4v1t_mzsx6Jnj5fXYmw
  19. In Steve's defence, it's usually The Toad that kicks things off. Has to be the most argumentative person on this forum!
  20. In your case, I think it's pretty easy to tell the difference!
  21. Teams... Oxford Chargers: 1. Jordan Jenkins, 2. Jacob Clouting, 3. Ryan Kinsley, 4. Jody Scott, 5. Henry Atkins, 6. Luke Killeen, 7. Jason Garrod. Kent Royals: 1. Ben Morley, 2. R/R, 3. Connor King, 4. Tom Woolley, 5. Nathan Ablitt, 6. Sam Woolley, 7. Ashton Vale.
  22. Killeen will be one of the reserves, so I bet he's hoping he doesn't get wiped out in his first race back!
