  1. Sunday is a priority race night for Poland, so he's not withholding his services. Only way he would be withholding his services is if he rode for Redcar and turned down Wroclaw! As soon as he signed a contract with Wroclaw, he has to ride in Poland on Sunday and Thursday if his Polish club wants him. Which booking he got first is irrelevant. Blame those in charge of British speedway for agreeing to this, not Wright.
  2. There's a difference between pencilling in meetings, and actually selling tickets for it in my opinion.
  3. Exactly. Not sure how this rumour of them picking each other started in the first place, but clearly they have agreed to avoid each other.
  4. Surely this is quite simple..... Poland have priority on Sundays. Only way Charles Wright could have raced for Redcar against Glasgow on Sunday was to turn down the chance to sign for Wroclaw. Considering Redcar usually race on a Friday, why would he turn it down?
  5. Yeah, fair point, although Oxford were severely weakened in the home fixture with the loss of Schlein after just one race - so not sure you can read too much into the aggregate score. But then there's the Tarasenko factor in Glasgow's favour. And totally agree about Poole. Nothing against them, but it's about time we had a final without them.
  6. Is there any danger Leicester don't fulfill their fixtures and miss out on the playoffs as a result? Still no news on rearranged Oxford and Mildenhall meetings.
  7. No, Oxford are seven points clear of Glasgow, and Glasgow only have two matches left. Oxford on 33, max Glasgow can get is 32. I'm half hoping Oxford/Poole do select each other, as I'd love to see an Oxford vs Glasgow final!
  8. I honestly don't know what to think about this fixture. I can see everything from Oxford sneaking a 46-44 win to Glasgow cruising to a 55-35 victory. So many unknowns on how people will perform. Guess that's what makes it such an exciting fixture - that and the fact both team have plenty of racers, so it should be entertaining.
  9. Seriously? I’m no Poole fan, but the onus is on the rest of the league to be better, not for Poole to deliberately be worse.
  10. Another 5+2 tonight as well. Massively out of his depth!
  11. All the people who have commented have seen him race in one form or another before passing judgement (positive or negative). You’ve just been negative without even seeing him ride for some reason. And let the lad develop? How is people commenting on a forum going to impact his career development exactly? Tell you what, let’s all shut up until he’s 35 and then we can talk about great or awful he was.
  12. Please God not more points for different level of away wins. I tried to introduce a friend a couple of years ago, he took one look at the table and starting pulling out his hair at the amount of columns. Simplicity is the way forward.
  13. Yet you feel the need to comment having said you'd never seen him ride? If that's the case, why comment? That seems far more pointless than actually having a thread about him. And 7+2 on his Championship debut means he's out of his depth does it? Something tells me the green eyed monster might be at work.
  14. Exactly. The coin toss simply decided which team was in which semi as they were tied in pretty much every way. Pretty simple stuff. A certain person is acting like it decided the outcome of the meeting.
  15. Good grief! It happened in 1968 but, as said, it can still happen now as it’s listed as 8th in the tiebraking procedure by FIFA themselves. Look up if you don’t believe me - or don’t, and keep arguing.
  16. It has happened! UEFA Euro 68 - semi-final between Italy and the Soviet Union. Shocking, but true. Can we stop calling it a speedway issue now, however ridiculous it is?
  17. I don’t know why people are getting stressed about a coin toss. It’s not just a speedway thing! It’s literally done in almost every other sport. In fact, it’s the 8th option (eighth, not 800th) for deciding a tiebreaker in the groups of the FIFA World Cup. The biggest sporting competition in the world.
  18. What did he say? I’m at the meeting so didn’t hear it
  19. I find it amazing that somebody would not hand over money to pay for something they enjoy just to make a point. Hate to say it, but it's not going to change just because you stopped going. Enjoy your life, and do the things you enjoy. If there's no speedway in this country in 10/20 years, you'll end up regretting it I'm sure. But each to their own.
  20. Have you seen a kid that literally only turned 16 last week trying to compete with the best riders in this country? He went from NDL racing to competing in the Premiership practically overnight. Give him a break (and some time). P.S: He's also been struggling with bike issues, no?
  21. Not saying it’s right, but if Edinburgh beat Birmingham and Oxford beat Glasgow, there won’t really be any necessity to stage this meeting at all.
  22. Easy win for the Cheetahs, but tougher tests to come. Jordan Jenkins was superb, as was Cameron Heeps (again, at home). Ashton Boughen was also pretty impressive on debut with 7+2, albeit against relatively weak opposition. He lost his steel shoe twice (heats 12 and 14), so might have arguably scored more. Certainly looked a little tentative going into the corners in those heats. Don't think this is the first time it's happened to him either!
  23. Big meeting at the summit of the NDL table. Max Clegg guesting for Dan Thompson, and Ashton Boughen racing against his new employers! Oxford full strength. Both teams likely to make the playoffs, but who will finish top? Oxford won the return fixture 50-39. Lion Cubs: 1. Max Clegg (guest), 2. Ashton Boughen, 3. Max Perry, 4. Max James, 5. Joe Thompson, 6. Vinnie Ford, 7. Tom Spencer Chargers: 1. Jordan Jenkins, 2. Jacob Clouting, 3. Ryan Kinsley, 4. Jody Scott, 5. Henry Atkins, 6. Luke Killeen, 7. Jason Garrad Going to be a close one I think. Leicester to win 47-43, but Oxford get the bonus point?
  24. Think they were having issues getting enough updaters tonight with all the meetings that were supposed to go ahead. 41-19 after Heat 10 for those that want to know.
