  1. Thanks for that(didn’t like for obvious reasons)where did you find them ?.I looked at the 106 but it was 96 blank pages.all I could find was this that was suggested before the decision. Summary of Recommendation: That the Head of Planning, Regulatory Services and Heritage be authorised to APPROVE the reserved matters, subject to the conditions set out in the report (together with any amended, omitted or additional conditions) upon the completion of a Section 106 obligation to mitigate the impact of the development and to ensure the satisfactory completion of the stadium development and the other strategic infrastructure, including the open space and play areas and the construction of the necessary drainage infrastructure. In the event that the applicant fails to enter into an agreement or fails to agree to an extension of time for the determination of the application to enable the Council as Local Planning Authority to deal with these matters, then the Head of Planning, Regulatory Services and Heritage be authorised to refuse the approval of reserved matters and; The Head of Planning, Regulatory Services and Heritage, in consultation with the Head of Legal Services, be authorised to take planning enforcement action and other legal action regarding the breaches of the s106 planning obligation. 3 It is recommended that the section 106 agreement should include the following matters; No additional housing is to be developed until the new stadium is operational and substantially complete. (The definition of operational and substantial completion to be agreed in the s106 agreement.)
  2. Interesting to note that the section 106 agreement documents are showing as blank on planning portal. These contain the important milestones regarding stadium and housing build so cannot see who’s telling the truth.
  3. Keeps Speedway and stadia in the news, can’t do any harm as you say especially with the other publicity this week
  4. I think if there had been a campaign like at Oxford and Coventry then the Swindon story may have been told but sadly no such campaign ever surfaced.
  5. And on it goes even Justin is being quoted https://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/news/24081829.abbey-stadium-concerns-lack-progress-amid-council-probe/
  6. Perhaps if they could have ,they would have and most certainly should (Swiftly)have.
  7. As I said it would appear that Kevin Boothby only leased Henlow…https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-68038489
  8. Oxford council did the same, a shame Swindon are one that as you say rolled over
  9. Correct, The council planning dept knew full well what they agreed at the time and so to did Osborne all he had to do was pay off the speedway which of course he did (to provide a United front) and avoid any save Swindon speedway supporter groups with his motorsport’s project.
  10. Terry still owns Swindon speedway 2013 ltd and is part of the swindon motorsports company charged with securing a new venue for aforementioned.this plan has been cooked up by the land owner Clarke Osborne to ensure a smooth transition to a housing estate on the whole site If you read the update I posted you can see what a mess the council has made
  11. Latest update if anyone interested https://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/news/24062597.council-considers-action-abbey-stadium-housebuilder/
  12. I don’t know if this helps ? https://historicengland.org.uk/content/docs/legal/appeal-decision-oxford-stadium/
  13. FYI. The cost of purchasing the site from the current owner is not factored into the above assessments. Whilst the Council resolved on 14 December 2022 to 'explore options available to bring Brandon Stadium back into use' this has not been acted upon. There is no evidence before me that the Council would consider compulsory purchase. At the Inquiry I heard from a supporter of SCS, that he was prepared to purchase the site and fund the necessary works to secure its reinstatement. He was also proposing to act as promotor for stock car racing at the stadium. Whilst this is very positive, the actual costs of reopening the stadium are uncertain, as is the level of other sponsorship and how much financial risk would be involved. Just watching the news ,councils are cash strapped so doubt they’ll have any spare, the euro millions Friday is the best chance.
  14. That’s the charade they would have you believe.
  15. Did it jog your memory then ? like you i couldn’t believe that anyone with any speedway nouse would not want JD in their team as he is a class act. I miss not seeing him ride for Swindon any longer.
  16. I think you’ll find that most would prefer to see the stadium back in use rather all the vandalism etc since 2016. Why so negative about this great news ?
  17. Credit also to Helen Hockenhull for coming to this decision and allowing the fight to continue
  18. Well here’s one for you ! Plenty more like that if you care to look
  19. Interesting to hear the assessments made good and bad of the Oxford Spires. Can Magic recapture his form (When JD signed for Ippo there were a few of their fans who said he was finished would they say that now),how long will it take Bomber get dialled in (I don’t remember him struggling around sandy lane across the last 2 seasons) and so on . While they’re maybe a few doubts I know that we are in for an exciting season across all three leagues and I can’t wait.
  20. Well said that man, perhaps Chicken Little will give an assessment of the other sides for fairness
