  1. Hume's home figure of 7.04 includes bonus points. 19 of them. His GSA figure is 5.39, lower than his away figure, which surely makes him a more valuable rider, as it gives his team a better chance of an away win. Away points win prizes! Just a pity is overall average is too high.
  2. SGP2 is an U21 competition so Basso and Brennan would be too old next year.
  3. Would expect Bailey to be the senior reserve at number six. It'll be interesting to see who the seventh man is. Complin, Bickley or an NL graduate seem the only possibilities.
  4. Sept 29 , 1972 at Hampden - the tragic night when Svein Kaasa was killed Heat 1 Alan Mackie, Kenny Omand, John Wilson, Harry Maclean 78.2 Heat 2 Andy Meldrum, Wattie Robertson, Jim Beresford, George Beaton fell 77.4 Final Alan Mackie, Andy Meldrum, Wattie Robertson, Kenny Omand 78.2 Will need to go up into the attic for the 1973 details of the meeting at Coatbridge
  5. Where are the riders going to come from to allow 50 point teams? Right now the Premiership is going to have a problem finding seven extra riders to staff the addtional team (Leicester)
  6. The simpler solution would be for both teams to track the seven they would have done had the final been raced. The simplest solution is just to forget aabout biut the whole thing!
  7. From memory only Leicester and Redcar have Newcastle meetings in tbeir last ten meetings.
  8. Not sure that Blodorn would be good value at an assessed average of more than eight.
  9. League winners or play off winners? Poole have a GSA total of a bit over 42 while Leicester are well over 44 . Glasgow over 46, so not all teams would be improving their squads. Monarchs about the same figure as Poole, so keeping their big two might not be a problem. Wages limit was tried in the 80s. Don't remember it working, with sponsorship being the way around it.
  10. Are we talking about Cami Brown? Craig Cook heat15 v Poole! Possibly other times too.
  11. So where is Danyon going? As he's got a better away average than his home figure, I would have thought he was one to keep.
  12. They come up with effusive quotes from the Team Manager when the team wins, but barely acknowledge a defeat - Plymouth being the most recent example - and no mention of Cooks absence, for which it seems he has received a suspension, something unlikely to be recorded on the clubs FB page. Similarly no statement about the Jubilee Final.
  13. How do you think the owners will react if Glasgow get fined? That could be a can of worms.
  14. Did Cami Brown really say that they didn't know what was going to happen with the Jubilee Cup and that this could be the last meeting.
  15. Tomorrows meeting must be in severe doubt, what are the possible options regarding a new date? Does Ben Basso have Swedish or Danish commitments next week? Poole are at Redcar in the KO Cup next Friday so that's ruled out.
  16. A lot to be considered this winter. Tigers team GSA looks to be over 46 so probably two changes needed just to meet a 42 limit....and there is talk of a lower limit. Hard to know if things need refreshed or whether its just the enforced gap in home meetings that has dragged things down. The big question is whether Tom and Ben would come back if we race in the Championship. Would we need to go top division to retain them? Whether Edinburgh manage to squeeze another year out of Armadale is another factor. Interesting times!
  17. This sums up how a growing number of supporters are now feeling. Only the truly committed will accept these kind of delays. A lot took the offer of a refund at the Scunthorpe meeting and possibly didn't go along last night, perhaps explaining the low turn out. It will be interesting to see how many attend the restaging whenever It is and it is to be hoped we can find a dry night. Another repeat of last night would be disastrous.
  18. Tom Brennan is riding in the European U23 Final on Sunday, so draw your own conclusion.
  19. Was Worrall fined after petulantly breaking the tapes? Certainly should have been. Meeting being run with Glasgow's usual haste!
  20. It's not clear why we opted for a 6pm start time. It was never going to be hot and dusty in late September and we now have no wiggle room, something that saved our meeting with Scunthorpe. Can we just send seven racejackets down to Plymouth?!
  21. There's the Jubilee Final so if the weather is threatening the Ben Fund collection should be held over until then. Thursday is a Premiership night and wouldn't be available. Tom and Benjamin are riding in the SGP2 next Friday and Tom has a U23 event next Sunday. I think we must press ahead with tonight but no messing about.
  22. Not a great idea to have the Ben Fund Collection today. Having the riders come round at the interval will further delay things and break any momentum.
  23. Seem to remember Berwick renting Glasgow (Blantyre 1) on Saturday nights about 40 years ago and Edinburgh protesting about it. Don't think its a goer Lucifer Sam.
