Dire performance from Lions tonight ... looked like what they were .. a team well beaten before they started! However Lions not in the playoffs not as a result of tonights debacle but as a result of those 3 home losses to Ippo, Wolves and Sheff - especially the Sheff match. Honourable mention to Max Fricke - might not win every race but sure as hell good to watch!

Just for clarification purposes if nothing else .... My understanding when Nick Morris got banned he took an initial test on the night which came back non-negative and then refused to take a second test?? Richie Worrall suffered a non-negative test on the night at Plymouth and was then refused a second test on the night if he is to be believed? So exactly what is the protocol?

If somehow we manage to make the play-offs by gaining the aggreagte BP on Thurs night - if Richie Worrall is suspended for those play-offs if not worse banned - are Lions able to sign a replacement rider for the Play-offs? If so presumably we can build to a total of 39 points and therefore sign a rider c 7.00 in place? Altho does anyone even care any more? Speedway is in a sad state at the moment it seems ... track closures being the saddest of all.

If as others have stated, Connor Mountains average of 4.51 is only subject to a 2.5% reduction ( as with Tom Brennan ) then I can see Lions lining up as follows .... Max Fricke 8.55 Richard Lawson 7.71 Chris Harris 7.40 Nick Morris 6.48 Justin Sedgmen 4.44 Connor Mountain 4.40 Dan Thompson RS Total : 38.98 Thoughts anyone? Seems solid enough to me ....

What averages would Dan Thompson and Connor Mountain come into the team on ? Makes a big difference for the final member of the seven if that is the the rumored six so far ...

Need to have the League and Play-Off Matches done & end Sep or 1st week Oct latest ( plus Play-Offs only involving the top four teams - not top six - ridiculous that a team finishing in 6th place can still win the Play-Offs and therefore be crowned Champions ) As for the Jubilee Trophy or any other Mickey Mouse competition ( no disrespect intended to Her Majesty I hasten to add! ) - nobody - fans, riders, managers - cares as they are just glorified Challenge Matches and should be restricted to just one or two meets at the beginning of the season or as fixture fillers if needed during the year. Just my opinion anyways

Personally I believe the League Table Toppers at the end of a season are the Champions and the PO winners are just that ... the PO winners ....

One thing that bothered me watching on BSN last night was Richard Lawson waving his finger at the referee in an aggressive manner and giving him what looked like some harsh words. The referee looked taken aback by what Lawson said. If Lawson was out of order I hope the referee let's the appropriate people know. Couldn't agree more - one thing a match being called off, should be the Team Managers / Promoters talking to the ref if anyone not the whole team surrounding the ref a la football! Lawson out of order and he is lucky the ref doesn't have as much authority as they do as in Rugby!

Well beaten tonight by a brilliant Poole side on the night ... hats off to the two Cooks and Lawson ... untouchable ...

Given that the current 2022 ROLLING AVERAGES - GSA are now calculated over the last 10 matches ... and there are also GSAs quoted for the Season 2022 does anyone know which GSAs will be used for team building in 2023??

We were sat almost on the line in the 'Grandstand' and Kyle Howarth definitely got it - ref made right decision. Fair play to Poole for coming back into the Match when they looked to be on the receiving end of maybe 8 or 10 points loss at one stage. Lions - poor start to the match, vast improvement after 4 races - Richie Worrall great, Kyle Howarth trying his heart out ( probably cost him a point or two ), Nick Morris again very fast but stuffed Howarth up good and proper in Heat 13, Thompson Twins were fine, Connor Mountain a night to forget and Max Clegg OK but never quite there. Pirates - Great start to the match, Danny King / Steve Worrall & Richard Lawson always in with a shout, Cook brothers better than last time, Drew Kemp more than did his job and Nathan Ablitt a bit out of his depth despite somehow leading Race 2 until he unfortunately 'binned' it under pressure from JT Lions won but somehow feels like a loss given only a narrow margin to take to Poole - cannot see Danny King having another poor meeting on Wed as he did when Lions defeated Pirates earlier in the season and I worry about our reserves there this time around. Also - gotta say it was a terrific ride by Kyle Howarth to win Heat 13 on the line against a very quick Danny King! Two good teams on view last night

Anybody know if season tickets are valid for this meeting on sat night 17th sep ??

Bit like having the individual Championship Riders Final at Poole then - not like it gives Danny King, Steve Worrall and Richard Lawson an advantage there then ?

My view of Max Cleggs ride from the Grandstand ... it was and still is sensational ! Beat Kyle Howarth and Bomber fair and square , Kyle may have been in second place but he sure as hell wasn't just protecting Clegg - he couldn't get near him ! LOL Great ride for the young man .... hopefully more of the same please

Darcy Ward and Chris Holder were indeed impressive as a duo but then again were they as good as Hamill & Hancock ?? Let hope the Thompson Twins turn out to be as good as either duo ... lol
