  1. County cricket is supported by an ECB marketing budget of 40 million pounds shared across the whole of Cricket. Speedway has hardly any central marketing budget. That would be more than the whole of world speedway combined budget I would imagine..!
  2. You don’t have to wait until Monday night, there are fixtures from last season everyone can watch for free right now, which will be the same system and allow you to try things out. As has been communicated there are various options, and also this webpage https://guide.britishspeedwaynetwork.co.uk which gives a step by step guide of the other ways to connect. If you still have problems email the BSN support, but best to check now. The new website allows a lot of new features including live pause and rewind, and will cope with future advances as well.
  3. There were a number of “Big Guns” as such in the original plans, but Poland arranged sparring matches and as it is their day of the week they pulled rank unfortunately. It was not riders refusing to do it, Paul Ackroyd said this yesterday. They possibly do have insurance but that isn’t the point, for example within minutes of a rider crashing insurance doesn’t arrange to pay for transport or a hotel for his family to be at the hospital, and look after them once there. Or in some cases pay for a flight the next for the family to fly from wherever in the world to be with them. Or even just to have someone on the phone organising things for them when in a split second their lives are turned upside down. And then the immediate weeks and months or helping with bills, until the insurance might come in which could be a while. Nor does the insurance kick in 30 years down the line for an operation to help fix a speedway injury long after the event which wasn’t a problem at the time, but through age you need a hip replacement. Or those who need ongoing care, like Ricky Ashworth or Garry Stead, regardless of whatever else they may get (if anything I don’t know), getting extra support to make life a little better surely is the point.
  4. Hi, try email support@britishspeedwaynetwork.co.uk and try again. I'm sure they'll be able to sort it for you.
  5. Adam Ellis is riding in Poland, Sweden and Denmark so can’t race in the U.K., and has no plans to
  6. Ah right yeah, it did get known as “The podcast”, but yeah No Brakes No Fear is the actual name. Glad you enjoyed Bruce anyway, I’m hoping to do more stuff like that during the season this time rather than in the winter as has been the case. It’s great there are other podcasts around now which weren’t there 5 or 6 years ago. Personally I think we need more club specific podcasts / YouTube channels, either official club backed or just fan based ones. And for those podcasts to collaborate with each other and not see it as a competition. People will watch and listen to more than 1 thing, and what’s clear is if you watch or listen to 1 speedway show you’re probably going to listen to more, the stats prove that.
  7. It remains available and you can listen to all 168 episodes here.. It was promoted in every club match programme, on Brtitsh Speedway social media channels every single week including video clips, British Speedway website including embedded player which is still there, 5 min cut down edit played in all Premiership stadiums during every meeting for the last 2 years, and also interviews were shared with a number of BBC Local Radio stations too. So pretty impressive that over 5 years you’ve managed to avoid it 😂🤷‍♂️
  8. As it stands there will not be an official podcast as such this year, at least certainly for the time being, one of the many victims of no TV deal and funds to support it. Possibly it will change in future. I don't think there are many podcasts in speedway with the reach it had / has, mainly due to the direct access to riders and officials, and whatever happens I'll be forever grateful to Nigel Pearson for helping to get the BSPL to back it, and the further opportunities it has brought me in speedway. For now it's certainly not the end for it, but parked up and we'll see how we go once things settle down. However, we do plan to do something new via BSN once we get going in April so perhaps that might help fill the entertainment void. And personally I'll likely do more with my Humans of Speedway channels as well. With regards Media Days, I see the Rob Lyon has said at the NSSC event there won't be one, I'd firmly believe he knows better than most of the situation there! 😂
  9. Vintage races are Jade Mudgway & Theo Pijper for Redcar vs Stuart Swales and Stuart Robson for Newcastle
  10. Rushen, not Rushden. And he's riding for King's Lynn so no.. 😂
  11. Most are back over here already, some only just prior to it kicking off. But others are coming back via the USA which is a fair bit longer but they'll get here. Can also go via Singapore or Malaysia too into a European hub like Amsterdam and on from there.
  12. It also surely isn’t really practical to run NDL meetings on the busiest night for the Championship, as so many riders will be unavailable, it’s possible that 8 of the 9 sides could be racing at the same time. In other news, Jody Scott on the Bears Facebook Live tomorrow night and also revealing the date for the U21 Final. Monday 7pm
  13. Surely gaps are to allow to BSN Series semis and finals, and KO Cup rounds?
  14. I don't think anyone is claiming it is ideal, logistics and accommodation affect everyone. However I think on this occasion it's best to take a bit more time to think things through for the longer term, and hopefully a lot more straightforward in future. Some of the issues are beyond the BSPL, waiting for legal processes or 3rd party discussions etc to run through. Hopefully light at the end of the tunnel now.
  15. And just like that today is the day!
