  1. Oxford's crowds at Championship and NDL level seemed pretty healthy to me. I can see them being the only Championship club to also run a NDL team next year.
  2. Bewley isn't a problem. Belle Vue have a budget and he fits within it. My sources Cambridgeshire way say it's another club who are throwing silly money around and have been tapping up Peterborough riders, which caused yesterday's delay as it threatened to destroy a deal for the Panthers Premiership future.
  3. Maybe that's about to change.....
  4. Did someone turn up with a list of a hundred of his mates that he thought should be given a book as a freebie?
  5. You might think he's got no interest in Speedway, but apart from creating Britain's most successful speedway at the Bristol Superdome, he's also been a promoter at Oxford. Poole, Swindon, Reading, White City and Wembley. It's true because it says so on that website. And we all know that the Clarkster wouldn't tell lies. I wouldn't mind betting that he's also secretly been 7-times world champion.
  6. From that www.swindonmotorsports.co.uk comedy site:- "Clarke Osborne Clarke is Chairman of Gaming International the owners of the Swindon Stadium at Abbeymeads. Not known by many, Clarke has a long history in Speedway and motorsport, including the creation and operation of the most successful Speedway venue of the modern era in Bristol. " At first I thought they'd mistyped "Bristol" for "Manchester", but Clarke Osborne has nothing to do with that. So I can only assume I have missed the Bristol Superdome. Can anyone tell me where it is?
  7. It's more like Bullseye. You get your bus fare home..... But come and have a look at what you could have won.
  8. How can it be that of the two clubs contesting the League Championship play--off:- Belle Vue have staged 10 Premiership matches, 7 National League matches, 2 League Cup matches, 2 play-off ties, The Peter Craven Trophy, The British Final, (and a half of a British Final), and will still be staging a Premiership Pairs round. but Shefiield have only staged 9 premiership matches, 2 League Cup matches and 2 play-off ties?
  9. Apparently Collins is signing copies of his book at some pub near Belle Vue on 27 October. A bit unfair if people can walk up and just buy a copy there, and get it before the people who paid for the advance copy back in the spring and have been waiting 5 months.
  10. Actually he's right. Cook didn't suffer a "long-term" injury. He carried on riding elsewhere. He was dropped due to form/reliability. Having already used their 2 legal changes, this third one was illegal.
  11. Wonder if David Clarke might make a comeback?
  12. Why is it off? Forecast isn't that bad. 50% chance of showers late afternoon, early evening.
  13. Seven pairs of National League riders take on a pair of Championship riders who have the advantage of racing on their own track with its huge home advantage. Great work BSPL. This could have been a good meeting if staged at Sheffield or Scunthorpe or King's Lynn or Peterborough etc etc. Instead it's a borefest where we already know the winners. Give it a swerve.
  14. According to a rider it's going to be called off. Official decision to be made at 10am.
  15. So that'll be "No. I can't come up with a better team than the one Kent had. I take back my comment about them needing to be disciplined for a terrible team. They did the best they could under incredibly unfortunate circumstances"
  16. If they'd put out that team, they would have been fined. Since only 4 of those riders are legal. Connor Coles cannot guest at Belle Vue as he has already had his quota of guest bookings. Josh Embleton is in the Armadale 1-7 with a 3.54 average. So couldn't come in as an unattached 3.00 rider as he is neither unattached, nor 3.00 Not so easy is it? Want to try again and see if you can actually come up with a better team that actually complies with the rules?
  17. As far as I know, a temporary injury replacement has to be a 1-for-1 change. You bring in a temporary replacement with a lower average than the injured rider, and when the injured rider is back fit, he can retake his place. But that's not what Ipswich have done. They've made a redeclaration of the team, combining the averages of two outgoing riders (plus a bit that they were under the points limit) and redeclared with 2 new riders up to the points limit. It's not a 1-for-1 temporary injury replacement,. In fact Tungate's average is quite a bit higher than Riss. As for the "IRR" on the BV website, that's just a cock-up. "IRR only comes into play if a rider is injured during a meeting and withdraws. Whoever wrote that on the website hasn't a clue what they're writing.
  18. And still we wait for him to tell us who the better guests would have been...... " Kent need to be disciplined for putting out such a terrible team"..... Yet still unable to tell us who the better team would have been
  19. The redeclaration has to be submitted 72 hours before it takes effect (so 7.30pm Friday to ride at 7.30pm the following Monday). Ipswich submitted their redeclaration well before that.
  20. Has to be unattached 3.00 for Halder and KIng. Anyway, we're still waiting for the moaners to tell us who the guests are that would be better than D Thompson and Blair.
  21. Still waiting for your answer on the better guests you'd have chosen..... As the doubter has been completely unable to name any better guests, I'd say he's been proven totally wrong. Wouldn't you?
  22. Who said there'd been no falls anywhere? We're discussing a track which seems dangerous and has far more than its fair share of falls and injures more than its fair share of riders. Why don't you go through all the NDL matches and count the number of falls and injury withdrawals at each track? I think we all know which track will top the list. But we'll be interested if your figures show otherwise.
  23. The exact same riders who appear in plenty of other NDL matches around the country and manage to stay on their bikes at Belle Vue, Oxford, Leicester, Berwick.... etc etc...
  24. Three withdrawn now... And at least 9 falls. (i've lost count) When are Mr Vatcher and the SCB track inspectors going to stop turning a blind eye to this weekly carnage?
  25. Another bad track at MIldenhall today. Another crashfest. Another 2 riders withdrawing from the meeting injured. Don't the SCB employ track inspectors? Why haven't they been to Mildenhall? They certainly need help. It's a great stadium and potentially a great track, but how can the SCB stand by and see all these crashes and several riders injured every meeting, without doing something about it?
