Averages. CMA. Greensheet. Rolling.
RoundTheBoards replied to Diamonds85's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
The NDL uses "straight averages" so they basically use all matches in the current season. The Premiership and Championship use "rolling averages" which are based on a set number of meetings. Once a rider has done that number of meetings, all subsequent meetings are added and the oldest matches drop off to keep it at that number of meetings. They do tend to change the number of meetings it is based on from season to season., but I think it's in the rulebook. (can't remember without checking) -
SIS are Sports Information Services Ltd. They are the company who stream greyhound racing onto the internet and directly into bookies shops for betting purposes.

More than that if we never see Laguta again. Although Bomber should be a decent guest at Monmore.

Peterborough Panthers 2023
RoundTheBoards replied to Flappy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
As far as I know Rob Lyon is managing Peterborough tonight. Presume King's Lynn have made alternate arrangements now, but I don't know what. -
That comment makes no sense. Where is the incentive in wasting fuel and wear and tear on an engine just so a member of the opposition can get paid an extra point? Quite the opposite, the incentive would be to pull up and stop the opposition from earning more money.

I might be able to solve this confusion, as I was also told a couple of weeks ago by a couple of people that Jason Garrity had been phoning round for a team place. As I knew it wasn't possible because of where Garrity is currently residing, I asked some questions. I was told that he was offering to make himself available to a couple of National League teams, which couldn't be right... after a few further questions, it turned out that the person interested in a team place was actually JASON GARROD!

Neil Vatcher hasn't "introduced a rule which doesn't appear to be in the 2023 regs". Like you say, you don't know the regulations. Neil Watson has quoted the relevant part of the SR below. Becker was named in the 1-7 for 2023 at the start of the season but hasn't turned a wheel. The SCB can give a facility for a MAXIMUM of 28 days, and they have given Wolverhampton the maximum benefit of that regulation. What does feel a bit unfair is that Peterborough have been given a longer facility for Pedersen. But Pedersen isn't the same case. He DID ride for Peterborough and got "injured" riding for them. In this case Peterborough get an automatic facility for 28 days which can be extended for a longer period. The fact that Pedersen only rode about 50 yards is what makes it feel unfair. On top of this Pedersen is now fit, so I would question on what grounds his automatic 28 day facility is being extended (presumably for withholding services).

Question about Rider Replacement
RoundTheBoards replied to Diamonds85's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
In short, Yes. If a team is operating R/R then his rides can be taken by the rider immediately above him in the averages and anyone below. If a rider gets injured during the meeting and they are able to use IRR, then the IRR rides can be taken by anyone with an average below him A rider could therefore take an R/R ride for one rider and also take an IRR ride for the other. -
You've got it all confused. The ruling doesn't say "Becker is no longer a Wolves rider". He still is a Wolves ride, still in their 1-7. All that has changed is that Wolves are no longer allowed a facility for him. (for 28 days they had a facility that allowed them to use R/R or a guest up to Becker's average). They now have no facility for any meeting Becker misses, and must follow the "no facility" rule. Becker is still in the 1-7, and can ride any time he's able.

Should be fined for fielding an understrength team, as used to be the case. Chapman should have to pay 50% of the total points money for the whole match regardless of the score.

Peterborough v Belle Vue 17 April
RoundTheBoards replied to Rob B's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Has a Premiership team ever used Richie Worrall as a Tac Sub before now? -
Think Edinburgh have it right. They have a strong heat 13 and 15. By putting Roynon at 4 he goes into heat 14, guaranteeing them a strong finish in the last 3 heats. Trying to match up rides as you say doesn't work. If they put spooner at 4 hoping to meet Marson, then Belle Vue would just swap their 3 and 4 round to cancel it out. The tactics of positioning 3 and 4 is more about who has the inside gates early on

Actually a rule applying to all 3 leagues.

Does it? They probably mean Kai.

Luke who? The only possible replacement for Josh Embleton is an unattached 3.00 rider

Can't see Kingston wanting to travel from Essex to Berwick for home matches. Ben Rathbone may be a better fit.

If it was true you'd be able to provide the list (that I've asked for twice) of 15+ year old who could fill the MDL with a view to progressing to NDL standard. (You only need 12 riders to staff the 3 teams, which you say isn't enough teams). First you can't provide the list because you're "out of touch with it all". Now you contradict yourself that you have "bitter experience" ... but you still can't provide the list! The fact remains there are only 3 MDL teams because there aren't enough sub-NDL riders around, aged 15+, to fill 3 MDL teams.
-
That is just completely untrue. If you think it's true, I repeat my challenge for you to name all these riders aged 15+ who could ride in an MDL league aiming to put themselves in the shop window for an NDL place. It's not the case that the rider pool has dried up because there are no MDL teams. The reality is that there are no MDL teams because the rider pool dried up and the people running them couldn't get enough riders to staff them. The British Youth System does a good job with what it has, but there are very few riders even in the youth system, and many of them are several years away from turning 15.
-
I don't think the question is "Where are new riders expected to learn their trade?" The worrying question is "Where are new riders?" It's all very well saying there should be a MDL of more than 3 teams, but just 3 teams needs 12 riders. Can you name me 12 riders within reach of the Midlands aged 15-21 who would be suitable for this MDL with a chance to progress to the NDL in future? I'll wait....

It's pretty obvious who is telling the truth. On one side we've got a man on his own, claiming in his book (which contains many other errors and "misrememberings") that he didn't write the letters demanding free passes for 100 of his friends. Then on the other side we've got a number of promoters who received the letters, and many more who have seen the letters. These include the late Phil Rising, a fairly impartial journalist and self-confessed Collins fan. Then we've got the vitriolic scrawled message to a dying man who had only tried to help sort out the situation of the 100 free passes. Why would you be so nasty if you hadn't even demanded the 100 passes in the first place? Sorry, but you don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to solve this one.
