  1. They should have done. If he could average 9.49 while off his t1ts, how much more could he have averaged under normal circumstances? They should only be reducing averages for seasons missed through long term injury, and certainly not when the break was caused by unsavoury reasons. Also don't think someone who has had a drug-related ban should be riding in a league where 15-year-olds are racing.
  2. Not sure how you've arrived at this conclusion. It's quite the opposite. He's the most highly rated in his class. He's miles ahead in the British Youth Championship. He's won all 4 of the British Youth rounds he's competed in, and dropped only 2 points in all the youth meetings combined. He was the most in-demand uncontracted rider for 3.00 NDL guest bookings last season, and every NDL team would have been happy to sign him for this year. He's being tipped as a rostrum contender for the British Under-19 Championship. Everyone is aware of him and everyone rates him. You seem to be the only person underrating him!
  3. Noticed that. Hans Andersen miles back from the tapes (not that it did him any good), and in another race Jordan Jenkins was way over into the next gate!
  4. It's not difficult at all. Quite simple to plug number of races and points scored into a spreadsheet. It's only 3 little numbers per rider each match (2 really since you don't have to bother with BP). If you can't do your own simple spreadsheet, you can buy one off Kandysoft. Better still just read the averages off the BSPA website where they're all calculated for you anyway! How do you go on with football? How do you calculate the percentage of possession, shots on/off target, percentage of tackles won? Or do you just read it off OPTA? What about Duckworth-Lewis in Cricket? Speedway is simple!
  5. Yes I've checked the rule book. It says calculated over "a specific number of applicable meetings". But doesn't say what that specific number is. However this year in the Premiership it's definitely 20 meetings, and I'm pretty sure it's 20 in the Championship too. So it's just the last 20 matches. Once a rider reaches 21 matches you add the most recent one on and drop the oldest one off, to remain over 20 matches.
  6. The NDL uses "straight averages" so they basically use all matches in the current season. The Premiership and Championship use "rolling averages" which are based on a set number of meetings. Once a rider has done that number of meetings, all subsequent meetings are added and the oldest matches drop off to keep it at that number of meetings. They do tend to change the number of meetings it is based on from season to season., but I think it's in the rulebook. (can't remember without checking)
  7. SIS are Sports Information Services Ltd. They are the company who stream greyhound racing onto the internet and directly into bookies shops for betting purposes.
  8. More than that if we never see Laguta again. Although Bomber should be a decent guest at Monmore.
  9. As far as I know Rob Lyon is managing Peterborough tonight. Presume King's Lynn have made alternate arrangements now, but I don't know what.
  10. That comment makes no sense. Where is the incentive in wasting fuel and wear and tear on an engine just so a member of the opposition can get paid an extra point? Quite the opposite, the incentive would be to pull up and stop the opposition from earning more money.
  11. I might be able to solve this confusion, as I was also told a couple of weeks ago by a couple of people that Jason Garrity had been phoning round for a team place. As I knew it wasn't possible because of where Garrity is currently residing, I asked some questions. I was told that he was offering to make himself available to a couple of National League teams, which couldn't be right... after a few further questions, it turned out that the person interested in a team place was actually JASON GARROD!
  12. Neil Vatcher hasn't "introduced a rule which doesn't appear to be in the 2023 regs". Like you say, you don't know the regulations. Neil Watson has quoted the relevant part of the SR below. Becker was named in the 1-7 for 2023 at the start of the season but hasn't turned a wheel. The SCB can give a facility for a MAXIMUM of 28 days, and they have given Wolverhampton the maximum benefit of that regulation. What does feel a bit unfair is that Peterborough have been given a longer facility for Pedersen. But Pedersen isn't the same case. He DID ride for Peterborough and got "injured" riding for them. In this case Peterborough get an automatic facility for 28 days which can be extended for a longer period. The fact that Pedersen only rode about 50 yards is what makes it feel unfair. On top of this Pedersen is now fit, so I would question on what grounds his automatic 28 day facility is being extended (presumably for withholding services).
  13. In short, Yes. If a team is operating R/R then his rides can be taken by the rider immediately above him in the averages and anyone below. If a rider gets injured during the meeting and they are able to use IRR, then the IRR rides can be taken by anyone with an average below him A rider could therefore take an R/R ride for one rider and also take an IRR ride for the other.
  14. You've got it all confused. The ruling doesn't say "Becker is no longer a Wolves rider". He still is a Wolves ride, still in their 1-7. All that has changed is that Wolves are no longer allowed a facility for him. (for 28 days they had a facility that allowed them to use R/R or a guest up to Becker's average). They now have no facility for any meeting Becker misses, and must follow the "no facility" rule. Becker is still in the 1-7, and can ride any time he's able.
  15. Should be fined for fielding an understrength team, as used to be the case. Chapman should have to pay 50% of the total points money for the whole match regardless of the score.
  16. Twisting things that way must drop London right down the list with its approx 8,000 population.
  17. Sorry Woofy, but it falls a long way short of this maserpiece
  18. Has a Premiership team ever used Richie Worrall as a Tac Sub before now?
  19. Think Edinburgh have it right. They have a strong heat 13 and 15. By putting Roynon at 4 he goes into heat 14, guaranteeing them a strong finish in the last 3 heats. Trying to match up rides as you say doesn't work. If they put spooner at 4 hoping to meet Marson, then Belle Vue would just swap their 3 and 4 round to cancel it out. The tactics of positioning 3 and 4 is more about who has the inside gates early on
  20. Actually a rule applying to all 3 leagues.
  21. Does it? They probably mean Kai.
  22. Luke who? The only possible replacement for Josh Embleton is an unattached 3.00 rider
  23. Can't see Kingston wanting to travel from Essex to Berwick for home matches. Ben Rathbone may be a better fit.
