  1. Edinburgh have had a home, away or NDL fixture scheduled every Friday since 5th April. Not so easy is it!
  2. If only every club was as fortunate with the weather as Berwick have been this season!
  3. Each to their own but are these people cutting off their nose to spite their face? Averages are an abstract concept that don't actually make that much difference on track. There has been some good racing and obviously excellent results so what's not to like? Guys going round fractions of a second faster don't necessarily mean it's a better product!
  4. 3 or 4 teams at the top of the league smashing the others home and away doesn't help attendances either. There needs to be the right balance or there is no point having a points limit at all. If most heat leaders were pushed out then why did none of them sign for Plymouth?
  5. If the limit had been any higher than 38 then the league would have been even more a league of two halves than 2023 was - a battle between the haves and the have-nots. It was a necessary evil due to the number of heatleaders that departed the league and in fact probably needed to be even lower as Plymouth's struggles to get a number 1 demonstrate. Perhaps it is Glasgow's poor team building that is troubling you.
  6. Bit dusty which seems the norm at Oxo but some good racing too
  7. Could only happen if teams ran off race night again. So many Friday tracks that don't wish to shift to their back up night now.
  8. From the good old rule book... 010.3.1 Transfer Window No team changes will be allowed once that team has completed 75% of their fixtures in the following competitions: - Premiership League Championship League & BSN Series combined Except riders returning to the team after injury who can only replace their original replacement. This season there are 16 Championship fixtures and 4 BSN Series fixtures for each team. Looks like Workington raced their 15th (75%) fixture on Saturday so can they make this change?
  9. Though the crowds will no doubt have been adversely affect by the weather, the racing certainly has not. Despite the rain the track has been terrific on each occasion with lots of great racing and passing throughout. Just because there is a bit of spray and mud flying doesn't mean the racing is poor! If anything it has been a remarkable achievement to proceed essentially unaffected despite rain falling all week. Well done Belle Vue, all the riders, and everyone involved!
  10. Looks like the Championship will have to reduce in strength to provide a platform for these youngsters to establish themselves as the NDL is no longer viable. So perhaps it is not that some of these kids shouldn't be riding in the Championship but that some of the top riders should be moving on up.
  11. IRR can be used in any instance of injury, whether new or recurring.
  12. The Edinburgh stream is usually excellent but looks like there may have been an issue last night with a couple of little blips, nothing major. Overall a good watch. Impressive display by the Monarchs though that Scunthorpe side should never find much joy at Armadale. Ablitt mixed it well.
  13. It would be a curious thing to do to tell your 1 and 5 to lose a 5-1 in heat 13 when they had generally been dominating their opposite numbers up to that point. Surely you would be encouraging them to do the opposite and secure a 5-1 for their team?
  14. If every meeting was called off at the mere hint of rain then not much speedway would run at all in the UK. Sometimes it goes for you, sometimes it doesn't. That's the nature of a weather dependent sport in a country with generally unsettled weather. Forecasts are frequently incorrect and often different forecasters offer completely contradictory forecasts. Oxford gave it a good go last night and if the rain had held off for just another 30 or 45 minutes then the meeting would likely have completed without issue. That's the way it goes. The better question might be how can bikes or tyres be adapted to better cope in wet/icy conditions?
  15. By contrast, the track didn't look soft at all. It was hard and slick which unfortunately meant that the steady rain caused issues. Sometimes the weather goes your way, sometimes it doesn't. Had the rain held off for another 30 to 45 minutes then the meeting would have been completed without issue. Oxford tried their best and credit to them for that. If every meeting was called off at the mere hint of rain then not much speedway would run at all in the UK - certainly not during the current period of extremely unsettled weather!
  16. Good meeting, shame about the weather but these things happen. It's an outdoor sport after all!
  17. Would many consider adding UK racing to their commitments? Lambert or Lindgren?
  18. Academy v Chargers meeting on Friday was a cracking encounter. Great stream too
  19. Could it be considered to be the fault of the team that couldn't stage 15 heats so why should the team that can stage 15 heats suffer?
  20. Doyle and Sayfutdinov could go almost unbeaten which should be enough for Ipswich
  21. Some fixture updates were posted last week here: https://britishspeedway.co.uk/junior-leagues/northern-junior-league-squads/
