Ipswich v Oxford Thursday 10th April
PhilTheAce replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
ipswich have the best team on paper but they need to worry if they are peaking to early, its better to peak towards end of season and not the start, oxford are a dreadful team and they still scored more than us, so its not all bad from them -
Lions v Aces Thursday 10th April
PhilTheAce replied to Col's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
i actually think the track looked much improved from last season, you could see the difference and racing was alot closer than normal wth out any passing, last night was just not watered enough but i think once they get the track prep right it will be a good racing track. gutted to lose last night but cant fault them, was just a sublime hard pass by max on brady, very good ride that. i seen a few vue fans moan on socials about the move, but thats the same move brady does to many riders and they cheer it, -

myself have seen nothing from ipswich that suggest they will walk the league, there was some mitigating circumstances that resulted in our drubbing. but they are sorted now, next time witches face us we will be a different animal. sheffield the team to beat this year -
At least he’s got the balls to want changes this early in the season

Sheffield Tigers 2025
PhilTheAce replied to InTheDeepStuff's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Sadly I did hear that Sheffield stadium had been bought by a massive company. and I hope I’m wrong but a massive corporate firm ain’t buying a stadium to run dogs and speedway. but fingers crossed I’m wrong then you have Julie reading stepping down but then I also heard she’s unwell so that could be the reason for stepping down -
good result for the aces, put the ko cup shambles to bed. how was the stream for anyone that got it

his frame snapped in half yesterday, so assume its had some kind of hairline crack going unnoticed thats been affecting him, soon as he jumped on his spare yesterday albeit only 1 race, he looked very competitive and won that race easily

Remember Lynn fans. Belle Vue now stream matches. https://www.bvtv.live/fixtures/KvtvjR

Bewley and Kurtz to go through the card. but the rest of the teams I think Lynn have the upper hand just now. So aces will win but late on like at lynn

What was Kerr suppose to do there. Riss parked it right in front of him. shocking decision for me -

Sheffield v Birmingham 3/4 Premiership R1
PhilTheAce replied to Manifesto's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
A shining light for brum is they wasn’t worse than us at Ipswich last week -
Another belle Vue thread in less than 2 weeks that’s gone way over the top. like a never ending school playground fight. end of the day Belle Vue get the win kings lynn very unlucky to lose but that’s sport im afraid. Both sets of supporters can certainly be happy with last night. im not going to get ahead of myself as that result certainly painted over the cracks of our side but a wins a win. well done Zach on gaining your first race win in our colours and that ride arguably won us the meeting.

I think that will be the plan tbh. Gives them time to find a solution. it’s horrible talking about replacing tai while he’s only just got seriously injured but for Sheffield they have to move quick really -

On his average there are plenty of options. in the mean time it will be no facility as he’s not turned a wheel sadly. best wishes tai -

Well done Ipswich. good match racing wise to start the team season. And it goes the way every season does for us. A home loss. We didn’t even look like winning this one. People will blame cook and norick but lidsey was the concern for me. cook we know will be better away and norick had a nightmare but that shouldn’t happen again. great to see Thompson starting the season so well. Ipswich got a trump card at reserve. Bewley was class last night, carried on like last year. Racing alot more aggressive. Needs to ride like that in GPs and he will put up a challenge. -

You just said it yourself. That use to go. 40k people attending stopped years and years ago sadly. As an event it became stale. Show by the stay away numbers -

When Cardiff was dropped and Manchester was announced 90% of comments, threads, posts etc, were all about the social side which suggests most people that went went for the social side. -

Grand Prix Ticket Sales
PhilTheAce replied to Beercellar1966's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
They did hold tickets back in grandstand for the one day sales. they have to. They can’t tell you there will be one day tickets and then say there isn’t any when they are on sale. I worked it out that there is around 400 tickets saved for Wednesday for the one dayers. pricing I thought was a little steep in the grandstand but Bloodyhell they sold way quicker than I thought so they got the pricing right. all they got to do now is use the money they got from this to improve the south facilities before the GP hopefully -
Does Lawson ever show up for press and practices. always annoys me that he never does
