Same here, May not be a World Class GP Rider @ No.1 but it's still a statement signing by Mayfield imo and it shows the pulling power they have. Most of us have be worried about the No.6 position and they've managed to pull out a top young rider with a bright future ahead of him. Every fan base in the League would've been happy to see him in their 1-7 imo.

5. Ipswich (It's a Team built to win at Home imo, May have a little outside chance of finishing 4th if Musielak can get back to his Sheffield form and if Hellstrom-Bangs takes to British tracks well) 2026 Champions (Sheffield) They'll walk the League if everyone stays fit imo.

Mayfield have done well to get PHB in, Didn't see that one coming as I assumed he was nailed on for Belle Vue earlier in the winter. Didn't think he was coming over after they announced Kildemand. Think PHB will be better on the road but will give it 100% whilst providing bundles of entertainment for the fans and that's all we can ask for. I would've signed Brennan, Lawson and Musielak anyway for the Top 5 after Doyley and Emil's departures, I think that's a rock solid Top 3 in a weakend League where Brennan and Musielak have huge scope to improve, Rocket Man will do what he always does and that's score consistently well where he'll roughly finish on the same GSA. I'm glad Nicholls is in the side after he revealed that 2026 is likely to be his retirment year, It's only fitting that he finishes his career off at Ipswich imo. King is King, Should be good for a minimum of 7 Points a night at Foxhall, Away from Home is a different story but we can't win the League in 2026 anyway so it's irrelevant. Overall I'm relatively happy with the 1-7 considering the circumstances and I only would've swapped King for Klindt. Roll on to tapes up.
-
Thorssell riding in Klindt's testimonial. Can we read anything into that?
-
The open letter to the fans from Rich Coleman was very honest and I can respect that.
-
I'll still blame Chris for all of the batterings the Witches will take this season as he's put the Club behind when it comes to Team Building. Mayfield could've done a slightly better job on the Team Building front imho in order to make the Witches more competitive on the road but nothing too drastic like signing a proper No.1 as it was far too late for that. For what it's worth, I would've signed Brennan, Lawson and Musielak even if Team Building commenced at the same time as BV, KL, LEI and SHE.
-
I would think he'd realease a seperate statement or a video message on X/Twitter.
-
Appreciate the honesty from Mayfield in regards to building a competitive team instead of the usual statement we normally get from Clubs in British Speedway where poor 1-7's get hyped up to the max. Despite the frustration this winter I'll still make various trips down to Foxhall to support the 1-7 even though I know full well in advance that it's destined for the wooden spoon if Northampton don't run. I'll go with a mindset that 2026 is a write off and then start fresh on a level playing field in 2027 assuming we have a PREM. The stress is finally over in regards to the Club coming to tapes and that's the main thing.
-
Defended him but Chris Louis has to take the brunt of the blame now imo. Basically a spur of the moment Club sale that's caused this clown show to drag on and on to a point where it's had an impact on the entire League. He should've put together a 1-7 and remained the owner for 2026 and allowed proper time for a sale to go through. Instead it's all been a very messy job in a race against time, Every statement just results in continuous delays and it has caused Mayfield to be a rabbit in the leadlights whilst leaving Ipswich as a Club on the backfoot. It has also had a knock on effect for the entire League where nothing has been confirmed in regards to League Structure and Fixtures to a point where nobody can get some much needed early season funds in by shifting some season tickets because nobody knows how many bloody fixtures they'll have at Home.
-
Jeppesen if the No.6 will make a mockery of his starting GSA so should be in the main body after the first set of averages. Let's just hope that Scotty can at least fill his boots once he drops to reserve on every track against riders like Zischke, Kemp, Etheridge etc.
-
Unfortunately the 1-6 is true. Forum member has posted a reply from facebook in regards to the BSN PREM Pass and TV rights for the forthcoming season. Safe to say that the BSPL are in a hole that they can't get out of this time.
-
I don't do facebook so thanks for the info that you've posted. No point in signing up for a PREM pass imo considering it's not a season pass at this moment in time. Assuming the Play-Offs happen on BSN then we'll probably have to pay an extra £30-£40 for the 4 Play-Off Meetings if it's a 5 Team League so may as well hold off for that.
-
Maybe I am. Would be much easier if the higher ups communicated with the fans but it's too much to ask in their minds. Leaves fans with no choice but to try and work things out for themselves on various topics.
-
Logic states that if the PREM didn't have a TV deal then extra League Phase Meetings as well as PREM Play-Off Meetings would've been included in the PREM season pass subscription for a higher price much like the CHAMP season pass that's £50 extra.
-
A season pass is for the season.
-
Not for BSN. He works for TV whether it was SkySports or TNT Sports. BSN's statment confirming season passes with the same amount of PREM fixtures for this season with No Play-Offs basically confirms a TV deal.
-
BSN's statement basically confirms a TV deal for British Speedway this year. Are we sure that Nicholls is in the 1-7 now?
-
Mayfield haven't tried hard enough when it comes to Team Building imo, They could've put out a much better 1-7 than rumoured but the vast majority of the blame lies with Chris Louis for leaving the Club playing catch up.
-
No but nothing would shock me with the higher ups considering the stuff they come up with tbh.
-
I dread to think what both Clubs will look like if they're both after the same Riders.
-
Scrap the Team. Pile up the Top 5 and get a Rider like Mitch McDiarmid in @ No.6. 1. T. Brennan 7.05 2. D. King 6.50 3. R. Lawson 6.81 4. N. Klindt 6.46 5. T. Musielak 6.63 6. M. McDiarmid 3.45 (5.18 divided by 1.5) 7. J. Edwards (RS) = 36.90

I've tried to remain positive this winter but I'm now very concerned to a point where the damage could be irreversable for Mayfield tbh. Fans have hit boiling point before the season has even begun so they simply aren't going to put up with a poorly built 1-7 that gets hammered every week, Fans don't have any patience left and nobody can blame them. I get options are limited but you can still put together a better side than the one that's rumoured which would put up a better fight to nick 3rd Place. You've still got riders like Nicolai Klindt available who can score big points around King's Lynn and Leicester as well as Ipswich. What's the point in having a No.6 on a GSA around the 4.50 mark unless it's a Rider who's going to put in Leon Flint 2025 type scores every week? It goes against everything what a strength in depth side should be. It's not even a side built to win at Home if the No.6 isn't a Rider who'll score a minimum of 8-10 Points consistently around Foxhall. The blame also lies with Chris Louis if the rumoured undercooked 1-7 becomes factual.....No free pass this time.
-
If Jenkins is the No.6 then this Team gets hammered at Home as well as Away. Going to see a massive drop off in attendances that's for sure especially after this joke of a winter.

PREM 99.99 CHAMP 169.99 Both Combined 249.99

Same here. Light at the end of the tunnel after all of the frustration this winter.
