  1. I hope Ipswich stick with Hume throughout the season rather than sacking him mid-season considering he won't be able to carry Joe Thompson. Big drop off from Jack Thomas and it goes to show that Chris Louis won't be signing riders with attitude problems even if they are a better rider (Kemp & Rowe)
  2. Not being biased, I fancy us to catch the Witches cold here, I would've predicted Ipswich to win if the meeting was taking place a few weeks into the season though. Emil & Rew will be riding the track for the first time in a competitive meeting, It'll be Emil's first match back from a seasons ban while the other is returning from a recent injury so they may not score as highly, With Ipswich' reserves it's a team built where the 1-5 has to fire on all cylinders. As for Peterborough both Andersen & Worrall go well around Ipswich, Basso likes the place too going on his showings last season, If Ben Cook can score a few then I fancy a narrow win. Ipswich 44 - 46 Panthers
  3. 1. REDCAR (Shanes was the only weak link, He's gone now so Redcar now moves up into first position in my rankings) 2. POOLE (Whoever replaces Thomas will be decent enough, Another strong campaign in store) 3. GLASGOW (Strong side but they're a tiny bit behind Redcar and Poole imo) 4. SCUNTHORPE (Strong from top to bottom) 5. PLYMOUTH (My biggest downgrade after initally placing them very highly, Jake Turner could easily be George Congreve 2.0 and the 2.00 pointer won't do much imo) 6. EDINBURGH (All about Craig Cook, If Cookie rediscovers some of his old form then Edinburgh will be the dark horses imo) 7. OXFORD (Tail is too long to make the play-offs imo) 8. BERWICK (Toothless at reserve) 9. BIRMINGHAM (Nothing positive to say unfortunately, It's a team of reserves + Sedgmen & Morris)
  4. Best wishes go out to Jack. Riders really do end up with the worst injuries when riding the Scunthorpe circuit.
  5. Unlikely, Doyle's got proper competition in Britain for a change.
  6. Best keep the wheelie bins out of Doyle's sight on March 27th considering he'll be racing against Nicki P three times.
  7. Same here. I really don't care about a riders personality because personality doesn't = points.
  8. Certainly makes us stronger on the road, Personally I would've opted for Nicki over Holder from the get go. Tungate is mustard around Peterborough though so it's a tough loss to take if I'm being totally honest.
  9. I'm confident that we'll make play-offs because we're certainly better than Leicester, KL & Wolves, We just need the one mid-season change to give us a strong chance in the play-offs imo. Nicki P has been training hard in Dubai this winter so he's not over here just for an easy pay day. It was looking bleak at one stage with NKI at 1 along with Worrall & Andersen which would've made us favourites for the wooden spoon but we've managed to come up smelling of roses after the long team building process.
  10. If the PZM were so against Emil then he wouldn't even be riding in the Ekstraliga next season let alone Britain, The fact that the PZM have been backing down gradually tells you everything you need to know. Anyone would think Emil has walked into Donbass with a Kalashnikov by the amount of hate he's received, He's personally done nothing wrong and he's just a Speedway rider who wants to live his dream.
  11. Nicki confirming himself is the most Nicki Pedersen thing ever.
  12. They are lying. I follow all of the riders on Twitter and I remember Emil posting a handshake image where one hand was painted in a Russian flag and the other hand in a Ukrainian flag with the caption about peace no war.
  13. Easily Nicki Watching Nicki wind up the opposition is worth the admission fee alone.
  14. 2021 Panthers title win was a once in a lifetime scenario though that'll never be replicated again imo, It was basically the equivalent of Leicester City's title win. Ulrich Ostergaard was like an astronaut in a space rocket which then opened the door for R/R to become a luxury after he got injured. The older members of the team all hopped into a time machine and ended riding like they we're 30 again.
  15. I'm happy for us to go under the radar again, In fact it probably suits us (2021). The team could've been better but it's still a strong side when you take a more in depth look at things. 1. Nicki P (Still one of the top performers statistically in the Ekstraliga on a year to year basis, So he'll have no problem putting up double figures every week imo) 2. Andersen (Yes age is catching up with him but he's nowhere near as bad as some of his scores suggested last season, 0.50 - 1.00 improvement in his GSA imo, Hans should be good for 5-6 points a meeting almost every week) 3. Basso (I would've be worried about Basso riding as a HL on the road but I think he'll flourish with Nicki P, NKI & Andersen around him, Development will be fast tracked now imo, Towards the end of last season Ben was putting up ridiculously good numbers around the Showground) 4. Worrall (Solid but not spectacular, He'll put a shift in almost every week with 5/6 points and that's good enough. Can ride any track and he'll be our trump card for whenever we're racing on a slick track due to his gating ability imo) 5. NKI (He'll add 1.00 on his GSA if he stays fit, He knows the Showground inside out, Double figure returns at Home more often than not imo and he's still good for 7/8 points on the road) 6. B. Cook (Will love the Showground and he's only going to get better) 7. Jenkins (One of the better RS in the league imo, Started to get his eye in towards the end of last season so he's another one who should improve) Michael Tomalin has also invested good money to put all of the riders on the best equipment possible which is a big plus too.
  16. Spot on, He's got some proper competition in Britain for a change.
  17. Yes, Just not at Wimbledon although that'll probably change this year.
  18. I wouldn't complain about Nationalities and stuff Under normal circumstances we wouldn't have had riders like Emil over here, So everyone who supports British Speedway should be excited and happy with this signing. We've all complained how weak the league has been over the past few years, 2023 is going to be the strongest league we've had in years which is only a good thing that will raise the profile of British Speedway again. I think everyone should forget about politics and just enjoy / savour every memory provided by an Elite level rider on track in 2023 because like us at Peterborough regarding Nicki, The chances of seeing Emil ride for your own team or riding in Britain period after this season would be very thin imo. Well done to Chris Louis who's worked tirelessly all winter, Must have been draining but he's got his man and nobody can doubt his commitment and determination for success.
  19. Just like the old Elite League days with the talent on show.
