  1. Pedantic Mode On A Union Jack is a Union Flag flown from the Jack Staff of one of Her Majesty's Ships. The Royal Navy Flag is the White Ensign which is basically a Cross of St George with a Union Flag in the upper quarter nearest the mast. Pedant Off ;-)
  2. A Triangular Bandage makes a fantastic gag if necessary
  3. If the Doc passes him fit for the Academy match at Poole I've got some strap up tape thats reserved for Speedway stars in my kit. If its good enough for Lee richardson and Toninho I'm sure there might be some luck to rub off on George. Hope all is ok and it's not the scaphoid thats gone as that is a slow healer due to a relatively poor blood supply. All the best, Get well soon.
  4. Say what you think Tabby.... Don't hold nothing back now!
  5. On Thursday night I'll be getting there at about 6ish as I have to come straight from work. Will porbably hang around the pits or work the crowd that night. As for Saturday I'll be there v v early to cover any practice that is had and will almost certainly be on the centre green for that one. Will be hard to miss as I'll be wearing green with a hi viz vest on the top.
  6. From the plans I have seen it will be three temporary grandstands on bends 1 + 2, 2 temps on bend 3 + 4 if I remember correctly. We have been requested to be there at 5 both days for when gates open. With any luck I'll get out in the middle for at least 1 and half of these....
  7. Should be on the centre green for both so I'll give you all a wave....
  8. Bad news...... Send him my best regards and I hope his recovery continues to go well.
  9. Really enjoyed the classic bikes out at Poole last night but I was just wondering if anyone on here had anything to do with the team involved. I was one of the St John people that took the faller off to hospital and was hoping that someone out there knew how he was doing....
  10. Who would you have in mind??? And what qualifications would they need?
  11. Your qualifications will first need to be rigorously examined to prove competence.....
  12. Marvellous - that makes sense....... NOT!! How can you run a GP like that?? AFAIK for EL meetings you must have two qualified first aiders at each end, an ambulance and a doctor. Obviously there is often more cover than this
  13. No problem - seems you have already forgiven me for being a Pirate fan....
  14. From my perspective I'd much rather riders who fell would lie still till we get there. Due to the marvels of adrenalin and shock they could be quite badly injured without realising.
  15. Apparently my 3 year old jumps up and down shouting "Run Daddy faster!!!" when anyone goes down and I'm in the middle on duty. I also have to hold a debrief with my 6 year old on the injuries received.... I've always thought that the first few momenst after an incident can make the difference not only between life and death but between a full recovery and permanent injury....
  16. Couldn't agree more - my policy is any rider that goes down gets spoken too unless they are immediately up and about looking fine. Holta even asked for help and got none. The fact that Hancock got up is neither her nor there, he took a couple of big impacts and could well have needed immediate help. As for Rickardsson's crash I was totally disgusted at the amount of time it took for help to get to him.
  17. Was it just me or did the medics take a hell of a long time to reach two possibly badly injured riders last night??? Whilst I'm biased (see my sig ) I was totally amazed at the apparent lack of fast response first aid to both Rickarddsson and especially Hancock. There was one rider fenced who ended up almost hopping on one foot back to the kennels. What if he had a fracture??? Your thoughts and comments please....
