  1. Could he not learn anything from Rory Schlein last year?
  2. Nathan definitely improved last year after a very difficult 2022 with Poole in which he stepped into a strong Pirates team well before he was ready for the Championship. He's worthy of a reserve spot in the league this year.
  3. He's good but he's certainly NOT one of the hottest prospects in world speedway. His averages over the last three seasons in the Championship (according to the speedway-stats website) are; 2021 7.05 2022 7.17 2023 6.93 This leads me to believe that he has stagnated a bit or maybe even reached his peak but who knows, perhaps he just needs a change of scene and riding for the Tigers and not being given the captain's armband might do him the world of good* *Although i have to say that i've never been impressed with him around Ashfield in the past.
  4. Pretty sure they signed him to be a reserve not a heat leader and as a 2 pointer he will definitely increase that with a good run in the team. I like his riding style and he seems to have a good set-up so at the moment it's looking like a good signing for the Scorpions
  5. Danyon is a great signing for Berwick. He's a tough competitor and i really thought he would kick on after his season at Ashfield in 2022 but last year was disappointing so here's hoping he will be back to his best in 2024. Dickson is quietly putting together a strong looking team in the borders.
  6. Luke Harrison is a great signing. I saw him a few times last season and he never looked out of his depth and at 16 he can only get better.
  7. No to Sedgman. He looked disinterested in the play-offs guesting for Edinburgh and couldn't buy a point and his average is way above what he gives imho. For example who would you take from Sedgman (7.69) and Brennan (7.15) if given the choice? There's really no contest.
  8. Oxford Cheetahs have announced their team (pending approval by the BSPA): Sam Masters Scott Nicholls Jordan Jenkins Cameron Heeps Henry Atkins Ashton Boughen Luke Killeen.
  9. Because the mods aren't really Championship followers. I think most of them support Premiership teams and can't be bothered with the Championship thread each year.
  10. I think that's one of the reasons why they have not included the rule this season.
  11. Nope what? Nope you don't like the team or nope it's unlikely to be the final 7?
  12. It took them until late February to pin last year's Championship thread so you'll be lucky!
  13. That's not a bad team at all but i think Danyon Hume 4.84 and Hook 3.74 (??) instead of Wright (5.10) and Nielsen (3.75) would be much more preferable and if not Danyon then perhaps the club could look to snag Dan Thompson on a 4.86 (??) * i have no clue if Dan's average is 4.86, i'm just going on his 2023 rolling with a 2.5% deduction from that figure. ** Connor Coles would be a great number 7 in this season's league and Edinburgh would be lucky to get him. 1 Picko 2 Borke 3 Kye 4 Danyon or Dan 5 Riss 6 Hook 7 Coles
  14. Didn't the club say that they would name the entire team by the end of November?
  15. Controversial opinion and i know it's early days but is Ben Cook really a number 5, even in this year's weaker league?
  16. I'm glad someone has finally gotten around to doing this, i did last year's one and it was a pain in the ass. I wish you the best of luck
  17. I was thinking that myself. His average last year was detrimental to team building but on a 6 and a half point average i think a lot of team bosses will definitely be considering him.
  18. 1 Worrall, S 7.84 2 Borke 4.00 3 Thomson 6.48 4 Flint 6.40 5 Howarth 7.77 6 Thompson J. 3.51 (he was averaging 7 points per meeting throughout the latter stages of last season) 7 Harrison/Boughen/Who Cares 2.00 The final average is exactly 38.00
  19. Perhaps he shouldn't have been trying to lower his average whilst guesting for Edinburgh in the play-offs then.
  20. I think Howarth is on a 7.77 (?) average. He would be a far better fit than Sedgman who ended the season looking like an NDL rider.
  21. They are both more than adequate riders who give it their all but I just think Bastian has what American sports pundits call a 'higher ceiling' mostly on account of his age (BB will be 22 next season whereas Lasse will be 26). I believe Lasse is as good as he is ever going to get.
