  1. Injuries and bike issues were a problem for Riss throughout last year. If he returns to his best he would be a great signing.
  2. Big Sheila who runs the chippy is a bit of a goer
  3. Is Jonas a temporary stopgap until TJ is able to ride? TJ is a heat leader in this league and Knudsen is good but he's not a heat leader. He was really disappointing in his second season at Berwick.
  4. Claus Vissing as a possible candidate to replace TJ?
  5. I'd genuinely pay extra to see Steve Lawson having a crack. I remember him taking the first laps of the new circuit 2 years ago and he didn't look too bad for a 64-year-old (66 now). Anyone know what average he'd come in at?
  6. Not sure what you have against Glasgow, they'll definitely be in the top three or four but I agree that Scunthorpe look like really good contenders this season. However, PLYMOUTH at 3?!!!! Crikey! I'll be amazed if they finish out of the bottom three.
  7. I agree with your top three but if Jenkins can progress this season and become a real number three then they'd quickly become my favourite for the title. This may cause a bit of a debate but I see him as having a better future than Flint if he can take that next step this year.
  8. I know the stadium is a little 'rustic' and the toilets wouldn't look amiss in a Japanese WWII prison camp but there's no need to flee the country over it!
  9. I'm racking my brain but I can't think of any non-binary pan-sexual albino with a withered arm and a glass eye that Workington could bring in to be their next gimmicky tokenistic signing to help sell a couple more tickets to a bedazzled short-on-entertainment Workington populace who think a woman riding a speedway bike is the cultural equivalent of seeing the Wright brothers take off for the first time in a wooden plane. I'm certain they will have searched high and low for one though. Failing that Claus Vissing would be a good signing if he agrees to change his pronouns.
  10. Zach Cook isn't having the best of preseasons but I hope he improves over the course of the regular season. He has a lot more weight on his speedway shoulders this season with a much weaker 2,6 and 7 than last year starting for Poole.
  11. I don't think Glasgow will win it this year but i said that last year as well. Then again I didn't forsee the signing of Tarasenko which turned a very good team into an unbeatable one. That signing was a bit of genius.
  12. Not really. I can't see any non-speedway fans wanting to pay £25 or whatever it is to see a reserve rider just because she's female. If any do then it'll be solely for the novelty value and we all know every novelty quickly wears off.
  13. As a number three I think Claus will be a good addition to the team if he is the last signing.
  14. I'm thick. What does that mean in this particular case? Is it economic or environmental sustainability? What amenity or amenities will be lost if speedway returns to the area? And what constitutes what they consider to be an amenity?
  15. The young Aussie rider Michael West has always impressed me. Has he ever considered coming over to these shores?
  16. It's good to see so many graduates from the British Youth Championships setup riding in the championship this coming season (Joe Thompson, Dan Thompson, Sam McGurk, Sam Hagon, Ace Pijper, Ben Trigger, Freddie Hodder, Max James, Luke Harrison and Max Perry) Proof that this kind of development is essential to the future of speedway in this country. My only wish is that more people would turn out in support of these events because attendances are quite low whenever I've been to them.
