All three of your heat leaders are looking in fine form and Lawson and Worrall are always great around Ashfield so there's no chance of the Tigers hauling back a 30 point lead especially now that your lower order riders have had 2 practice races around the Ashfield track last Sunday. If they all performed badly just 8 each would do it if the other four riders got at least 2 points each.

I never said he was 'THAT bad' just average at many away tracks and certainly didn't look like a No. 1 although he's a very good rider, he's young so his best days are ahead of him and he's very entertaining.

I've got more chance of copping off with Jennifer Lawrence than Glasgow have of pulling back this tie from 30 points down but why are some Tigers so different away from home as they are away (such as Connor Bailey and Benjamin Basso) there's a huge drop off with their performances on other tracks. I was expecting Ben at least to put up some good numbers at Poole last night as he was racing around Wimborne Road last season but he looked average compared to how he looks around Ashfield. You simply cannot build winning teams around riders who don't turn up to away meetings.

The weather forecast for Saturday in Glasgow looks like mild-heavy rain from 12noon to 4pm. I can quite easily see it being cancelled and the season will probably continue into November at this rate. When i think back to the last 7 weeks of great weather and all those speedway-less Fridays at Ashfield i am more than a little annoyed by what's happened this season. Heads should roll at the BSPA.

Two questions: 1) Ulle's hand is taking a long time to heal, it's been over seven weeks and breaks normally take less than 6 weeks to heal. Does anyone know when he will be back? 2) Is the Plymouth v Glasgow tie ever going to get staged or has it just been forgotten about? It's like a loose end which is really bugging me.

I knew as soon as i entered the stadium last night that half an hour of drizzle would make that track greasy as it was already wet as well as hard and flat and i could see some of the misgivings from some of the riders like Tom as they checked the conditions with their boot upon entry. The track was badly prepared which isn't a normal ocurrence at Glasgow but it was last night and i'm not exactly sure why this was the case but over the years i have seen riders launching themselves at tracks in much worse conditions so the riders have to take some share of the blame for the decision. The referee also helped to make the entire evening a shambles with some silly time-wasting and i felt a real lull from the outset despite the best attempts of the announcer to keep everyone upbeat. However, what concerned me the most was both the smallish crowd for an important semi-final (and yes i know it was livestreamed) and the lack of anger as they departed. Normally there is a lot of weeping and wailing like it's an Islamic funeral whenever a meeting normally gets called off but this time everyone just seemed to accept it with only a wee bit of grumbling. This is concerning because it tells me that everybody have really gotten used to delays, cancellations, postponements and the BSPA doing their utmost to cut large chunks out of the season and like myself they are thinking of finally calling it a day. It's been fun for a long, long time but with the costs also starting to outweigh the benefits i will be probably be cutting down my visits to just the odd meeting next year.

Someone pinch me and tell me i'm dreaming! The Tigers are racing again on Sunday! It's been SEVEN WEEKS since the last home meeting and during that time i have become a Shaolin master and had a sex change (okay, i've not really done either but i could have done within that kind of time frame...) To be honest i'd almost given up hope of ever seeing the Tigers taking to the track again but knowing speedway it will probably drizzle a bit and get called off. Anyway, here's hoping all goes well on the day and both the Tigers and the Monarchs (yes, really!) get past the semi-finals and it's an all Scottish final in October (or possibly January depending on the BSPA...)

If Sam and Josh can each get 10 points tonight then the other five Monarchs are only left with the task of trying to rack up 17 points to see the team through. Should be well within the grasp of the riders but the reserves have to turn up and not rely on the top order to see them through. It's looking like a Leicester/Edinburgh - Poole/Glasgow semi-final affair in my opinion and i don't envy Glasgow having to face Poole at all because despite Leicester finishing top of the league they haven't impressed me like Poole have impressed me on their day and the Pirates seem to be building to a really big crescendo at the moment. I still pray it will be a Glasgow/Edinburgh final though, that would be amazing.

Let's cancel all the remaining fixtures this season and go into a 2 year lockdown, wear Queen masks and get 'vaccinated' with gin. It's what the Queen would have wanted.

Well, i was all set to travel to Armadale today to finally see some speedway and then it's cancelled. Terrific. I didn't realise the Queen was a big speedway fan.

This entire season seems to have become a fiasco, they've now started the quarter finals before the league stage has even finished and the Jubilee Joke Cup seems to have largely been forgotten. I can see this season finishing in November after a 2 month sabbatical (August/September) by which time the weather will be dreadful and nobody will be able to afford their electricity bill let alone a ticket to the speedway. It's almost as if very few people inside the sport (excluding the riders) seems to care because i don't hear much complaint from anyone of any note. Even the Tigers Twitter feed seems to have been taken over by the keepers of the Eilean Mor lighthouse who have decided to leave everything as they found it and flee. The entire situation is bizarre.

Criminal is an understatement. Glasgow's last home fixture (excluding the GP Challenge) was on August 5th and the Tigers may only have two more home fixtures this season if they don't make the Championship final via the semis. That's six out of EIGHT Friday evenings where Ashfield will lie empty over the summer months before we get into October. The planning of this season by the BSPA, especially the half-assed Jubilee Cup, has been nothing short of a disgrace.

Does anyone know when the Glasgow fixture for that ill-concieved Jubilee thingymywatsit cup tie is scheduled?
