  1. Two meetings a season against Edinburgh who bring across 50 fans is hardly going to influence any decision about moving up a league.
  2. What good is it being staged in 20223? I'll be over 18,000 years-old by then. Crazy decision by the promotion imo
  3. If the Monarchs really are running in 2023 then i want my money back for the ticket i purchased for the 'Farewell to Armadale' meeting. Has nobody heard about the Trade Descriptions Act of 1968 concerning misleading claims about products and services...?
  4. Can't you reduce the screenshot by 50%? or by 25% or whatever it needs to be? It doesn't need to be full-sized. Or you could just trim and paste the important parts of it into the final image?
  5. Richie Worrall has intimated that he hasn't got anything tied up in terms of a Championship club yet but he is wanting to race in this division next year. Every club should be looking at him as one of their heat leaders as his average is perfect for one of the top spots.
  6. Alan Dick's excuse for the non-participation of the Tigers in the Jubilee Cup tournament is the funniest/lamest excuse i've ever heard for cancelling a speedway tie
  7. Could be Friday the 4th of November. Last season ran on into November so the same may happen again.
  8. Some of the last few meetings at Glasgow only attracted around 300 fans with the Poole play-off pretty low as well. I thought it would be mobbed like the GP Challenge thingy but it was very sparse.
  9. "Wasps attendences dropped by over a quarter due to the lockdowns and never regained their previous level" I think the same thing has happened with Glasgow with many not returning after the 2020 and 2021 seasons were curtailed. Even this season started late and ended up all over the place by August and the fans are simply fed up and along with all that is the uncertainty over money at the moement because people are really starting to struggle to make ends meet. The lockdowns really hammered this country and whether or not you were pro-lockdown or anti-lockdown the fact is this country is so screwed right now. I've never known a time when the government were paying people's bills for them but even they won't stretch to a Glasgow Tigers season ticket for everyone. I can't see many sports surviving apart from the English football leagues.
  10. Lots of NDL riders have moved up. The Thompson Twins, Leon Flint, Dan Gilkes, Jack Thomas, Danyon Hume, Anders Rowe, Jordan Palin, Jordan Jenkins, Jason Edwards, Kyle Bickley, Connor Mountain and a number of others started off in the NDL. Considering it only came into being in 2009 it has done well in its original mission. You also have to remember that not everyone who starts out in speedway will necessarily become a good rider no matter how much experience they get.
  11. Danyon will be 27 next season. These are his stats from the past 6 years in which he's added 2.44 onto his average over that time. I honestly can't see him adding anything to that last figure over the course of the next year. Season Team M CMA BCMA 2016 Ipswich 6 3.48 4.17 2017 Ipswich 9 4.19 4.65 2018 Ipswich 12 2.94 3.55 2019 Birmingham 5 2.00 2.40 2021 Poole 30 4.70 5.27 2022 Glasgow 25 5.39 6.61
  12. Are you talking about Anton Karlsson the golfer because the speedway rider has been a revelation in the Swedish league.
  13. That's a pretty weak team with Aarnio the number 3 rider imo. Why not Kye Thomson as your number 3 and someone new like Kevin Juhl Pedersen or Anton Karlsson on 5 point averages as your 2 and 4?
  14. There are so many people in speedway that could step up into the role of Team Manager, you make it sound like Cami is the only one who can run a speedway team. I could probably run one, what are the qualifications? Do i need a Scotvec or a degree?
  15. With Edinburgh closing perhaps this side could make up the class of Scunthorpe 2023: 1. Douglas 2. Wright 3. Thomson (Kye) 4. Kennedy 5. Pickering 6. Rowe 7. Hook
  16. I've nothing against Cami but i'm just tired of Cook's antics now, the team don't seem particularly stronger or weaker if he's there anymore. Richard Lawson came in for him once and nobody missed him and it was like a dark cloud had lifted. Ulrich used to be really enthusiastic in the pits during meetings but Cook would often skulk around being the arbiter of doom and gloom which often affected the rest of the team (imo). I'd rather see Josh Pickering riding for Glasgow in place of Cookie next season as he's probably looking for a new home and he's a lot more upbeat as well as being more exciting on the track. *incidentally, if Edinburgh don't run next season i think Jacob Hook would also be a great signing on a 4-point average as he has been getting better and better all season and last night was always in or around the action against top opposition. An ideal replacement for Danyon but on a much lower average. <edit> *assuming Glasgow remain in the Championship
  17. I think he probably cared as he wasn't able to take part in the Scottish Open last night and therefore missed out on the chance of earning some prize money. Shot himself in the foot.
  18. Congratulations to the Aces and commiserations to the Tigers. It's been quite a long season but a memorable one and there was not much to separate both final teams in the end.
  19. Really? Isn't there a chance Glasgow could get fined for pulling out of the competition? I had a feeling something like this was afoot at the last home meeting when the announcer was talking like the Poole meeting was the last race of the season.
  20. The first available date for the Jubilee (200 years since the Queen took the throne at this rate) Cup competition will be October the 28th for all 3 clubs (weather permitting) but as it is over 3 legs we'll be in November before it culminates. Who on earth dreamed up this idea?
  21. I'm pretty sure that Poole's drubbing of Glasgow in the semis puts paid to the suggestion that they are one of the two best teams in the league. I think you'll find that the two best teams have been Poole and Leicester regardless of the league table and even Edinburgh knocked Glasgow out of the KO Cup. Glasgow have been dominant at home abut not so good away which is where it really counts.
  22. Ultimately, the speedway authorities will try their best to ruin what's left of speedway. That seems to be their reason for existing.
