  1. I'm quite happy to see Craig Cook go as he was becoming a real downer both on and off the track but i was disappointed to see the services of Connor not being retained as i feel there is improvement in him and his average would have been a good fit in a 40 point team. Anyone have an inkling of where they will both end up next season though?
  2. 100% Funny thing is though that when i looked at the thread for last season's confirmed signings, the final update concerning the teams on the thread was dated November 12, 2021 I can't remember that far back, do you happen to know if all the teams had confirmed their squads by as early as mid-November?
  3. Given his low average you would think that the promotion would be pulling out all the stops to bring him back.
  4. That's the problem with being really dominant at home.
  5. Oh, i see what you mean. Done! *btw, if everyone could post the averages of the riders as they are confirmed that would also be a big help
  6. "SCUNTHORPE have kicked off their 2023 team building with the signing of teenager Joe Thompson who joins from Leicester." (from the BSPA website) [edit] i have just noticed that someone else has already posted this. Apologies.

  8. I have nothing against the lad because he always seemed a nice guy but i'm glad about this news as i think there are better riders on lower averages (Dan Gilkes springs to mind if he's injury free) along with young Danish and Swedish riders on 5-point averages (such as Kevin Juhl Pedersen if he's available.)
  9. Does anyone know the points limit yet?
  10. A 36-point limit for Championship clubs is lunacy and we will lose the likes of Sam Masters, Nick Morris and Ryan Douglas from the league which in turn will lose many clubs a lot of spectators. A 36 point limit equates to an average of 5.14 for each rider (for reference Ben Morley is on a 5.11 average) I like your radio idea though.
  11. What i would like to see next season is meetings being called off due to 'drizzle', clubs folding halfway through their fixtures, an 8-week period of inactivity and a cup competition which is abandoned at the final stages. In short, i want the BSPA to remain in charge of running speedway
  12. I like these proposals so far. League racing over 32 meetings and no play-offs sounds like a return to some normality. Hopefully we will see a good cup competition as well instead of the silly jubilee league cup set-up. I'd also like to see a 4-team tournament as well as the points limit being set at over 40 points. But so far so good.
  13. Why is it not possible? Football clubs have been financed and run by fans before. And speedway costs are nowhere near what it would cost to own a football club. Let's say 100 fans investing £1,000 each. That's £100,000 which is a start. I never said anything about buying a stadium. One could be leased and adapted into a speedway venue or a new site could be bought and the basic necessities could be added piece-meal. Then there's sports grants from councils/govt etc. The least we could be doing is looking into it instead of just saying it can't be done.
  14. I know this will sound crazy but why don't the fans all get together and start a club in the Newcastle area? How much start-up costs would be involved and how many people would be interested? I'd be interested in getting involved even if i was just 1% part owner along with another 99 for example.
  15. The BSPA are more secretive about rider averages than a witness protection program are about their witnesses. Every year i go looking for the riders averages to see what kind of 1-7 each club could build and i'm always struggling to find the 'official' stats for the coming season.
  16. I'm curious to know what all the 2022 Tigers averages were and what they all add up to for 2023. Anyone know?
  17. "If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding!" Well, we've had the meat and we ain't getting any pudding.
  18. I don't think Cami has any interest in being in the team. He'll come in on a 2 point average, so he may improve as the season goes on. Can't see it happening though.
