Glasgow v Poole Championship. 30/7/23 6pm

I think the new third bend seating should be called the Mitchell Davey stand. It's really tall and it looks very wobbly. -
Max Clegg has looked dreadful for over a year now. I expected him to stay in the NDL or quit the sport so this news is a bit of a shocker for me. Losing Lasse and replacing him with Max is not a good move imo and the guest facility would have been better in the long run as they could have picked away track specialists.

How has it been a 'right off'?? The Monarchs are into the top six now and Kye has finally starting to get wins again and if Borke can become a decent middle order rider then the play-offs are easily within reach. It's a long season.

Not really. If the first test was inconclusive (which it must have been to require a second test) then it's inconclusive that he was under any kind of influence of drink or drugs. If i were a lawyer that is how i would argue it.

Marriage is a mug's game but if he is going to 'take the plunge' he should at least have waited until October. He should have put the club first. -

I dare say the other rider don't like it much either... -
"Following Nick Morris Breach of the SCB Regulations at Birmingham Speedway on the 12th July 2023 and therefore receiving a 30 day suspension of his SCB Registration pending a SCB Disciplinary Hearing, the hearing was due to take place on the 25th July 2023. Mr Morris and his legal team requested a postponement of the hearing for a later date, on the understanding that Mr Morris suspension would continue until the hearing takes place, regardless that the date exceeded the initial 30 day suspension period." How does this legal move make sense??

There was a shocking amount of dust at last night's meeting and yet i never once saw the track being watered. I got a real eyeful. Perhaps the tractor drivers should spend less time trying to murder the track staff and more time watering the track. Good racing though but not great. Probably because of the dry track. What concerns me the most though is Glasgow's inability to beat the better teams over two legs. Redcar, Poole and Oxford most likely have all comfortably seen off the Tigers in recent months. It doesn't matter if Ashfield holds such a home track advantage if they constantly underachieve on the road. This isn't a title-winning side from what i've seen so far. Tom looked better tonight. Claus continues to fustrate with his machine problems. I'm always tempted to write 'EF' in the programme every time he takes to the track to save myself time after the race when i'm busy writing in the winning time. I can't understand why he is having so much trouble finishing four laps. Anyway, congratulations to the Pirates, they deserved to win the BSN trophy over the two legs and were a class act. -

Thanks. I saw that but i was wondering if the green sheet averages are in effect and if Anders was 2 or 6? -

Does anyone know if the third bend seating will be available tonight and if there will be any surcharge to sit there? Also, weather looking good, anyone know the line-ups for tonight? -
I hear some Just Stop Doyle activists are now planning to sit on the track and glue their hands to the starting tapes and only white van drivers will be able to remove them as the police will be clueless.

The British U21 Final was fantastic and it was great to see Connor take the title and it was well deserved as he really dug in after a poor performance in his opening ride. However, i was very disappointed by the turnout on Sunday and if it hadn't been for the merry troubadours of Plymouth, the usual suspects from Armadale and one or two from Manchester and Redcar the stadium would have been almost empty. Really sad to see so few Glasgow fans turning out on what was a nice day weather-wise and good racing speedway-wise with a final heat worthy of an SGP final. On another note, the new seating on bend 3 looks really good although on wetter days it could probably have done with some covering.

What i noticed about Connor Bailey on Sunday is that he has finally developed a ruthless streak. Last year when he gated he always looked odds on to stay ahead but when he didn't gate he rarely passed anyone. Sunday's final showed that he has finally taken another step in his development and it was great to witness.

I predict a 63-27 point win for the Tigers tonight. *hic* -
I'm old school and would rather see silverware as most Tigers fans would. Ashfield lends itself to exciting racing no matter who is in the team. Are you suggesting that the current 7 riders are more entertaining than any other riders in the league*? There have been lots of exciting Championship teams that have won trophies over the years and lots of less-than-exciting ones which lifted silverware. To say you'd rather have one of the more exciting ones that didn't win any trophies than a less-than-exciting one that does is simply silly. Besides, i didn't see any evidence of an exciting side in Poole the other night... *Apart from Basso obviously

Lee and Marcin may as well have not bothered to travel down to Poole. I still believe that the 9 points they took up on the starting averages this season would have been better spent on someone like that Danish lad Edinburgh found along with a better 5 pointer from abroad (Rew perhaps if his commitments allowed?)
