  1. Sheffield managed to put on a great final in teeming rain the other night
  2. Connor Coles would suffice if Berwick don't plan on resigning him
  3. Says the dude who got worked up be someone saying that the meeting was on Sunday afternoon
  4. In that case scrap Clegg and bring in another 2 pointer. Still leaves a lot of points to play with for the two heat leader spots.
  5. Yes i know that. And i also know that evening begins at 6pm but 6pm to me will always be the afternoon. Quit being so pedantic.
  6. My suggested team line-up for next season if there are two leagues and only 8 teams in the Championship: 1 ? 2 Tate Zischke 4.00 (?) 3 Erik Riss 6.85 (?) 4 Kye Thomson 6.05 (?) 5 ? 6 Bastian Borke 3.83 (?) 7 Max Clegg 2.00 (1.88) Total: 22.73 This would leave 17.23 points for two heat leaders (8.63 each) if the averages stay at 40 for next season. If the total is 38 then 7.63 would be the remaining figures. * Figures are based on 2023 CMA stats at the speedway-stats website and are not necessarily what they will be revised to next year. ** I don't know if Zischke would come in on a 4 or 5 for the purposes of my post i've put 4 and that's if he gets cleared to ride in the UK after last year's accident.
  7. Great result on Tuesday evening but with the weather the way it is and the reports looking abysmal i can see why this fixture has been moved to Sunday afternoon. Good call by the management.
  8. They could have had TWO kids races in the time this track grading has taken. It's getting Baltic now. I've grown a beard.
  9. Was that Sam's spare bike? He did well to guide it home if it was as it seemed to have a mind of its own.
  10. I think so too. The Tigers are hopeless around Poole. Struggle to score 30 there and Poole have three heat leaders and two strong reserves and always go close at Ashfield.
  11. I think this meeting will depend on how Sam Masters performs. Oxford only need 40 just to force the race-off so if Sam gets a 15-point maximum which he did at Ashfield last season for the Monarchs then the other five riders just need five points each and with four R/R rides to take and with Scott and Lewis in the Cheetahs colours that's a real possibility. It's definitely squeeky bum time.
  12. He's not a Lambert or a Bewley though. I liken him to Lewis Kerr who is good enough to ride in both leagues but is not really a heat leader in either of them.
  13. Just wondering what the methodology is behind moving Basso to 5 and Tarasenko to 3. Good decision or bad decision?
  14. Weather looks good after 5pm Should be a good evening of speedway
  15. Well you did deliberately goad him. You can't complain when he responds.
  16. The BSPA is like France - there are no rules. They can make and break them whenever they desire and have done so for years. That is why everything in speedway is run like a weekend in Blackpool and why support continues to drift away. Anyone know when the Jubilee Cup is being restaged? Me neither.
  17. I never questioned his integrity or his professionalism in either speedway or broadcasting, i merely stated that speedway must and should come first. As it is the meeting is now being run next Tuesday so he can both race and do his talky stuff.
  18. Easyish win for Poole but I think the Monarchs will give you a bit of a test for once. 50-40 scoreline.
  19. Wednesday and Thursday are a washout, Friday evening is also forecasting rain in the west of Scotland so if Glasgow are to stage this it will probably have to be Saturday and Nicholls will have to hand over his microphone to someone else and turn out for the speedway team he signed a contract with at the start of the season. As handsome as he may be it's not like anyone watches the GP's to see Scott Nicholls so I doubt he will be badly missed by the TV company or their viewers.
  20. Someone on the first page of this thread said Jenkins was injured. Is he injured or not?
  21. I no longer care. I'm going through to Armadale on Friday night because I'm over in Edinburgh that day anyway. Interestingly though, if Glasgow had staged the meeting today and lost, it would have been the last action at Ashfield this season as there seems to be nothing else lined up if they don't make the final.
