You may not have noticed but that says '2023 champions'. The clue is in the wording. Michael Max won that title with his genius ability to bring in replacement riders at the business end of the season like Tarasenko on a 5 point average when in reality he was a 10 point rider, as well as the Facenna brothers for backing him. Even Lloyd and Harry from Dumb & Dumber couldn't have screwed up the 2023 season for Glasgow. What was your point caller?
-
Really nasty one down the home straight. I thought he was a goner that day. Did well to get back into the saddle a month later and with his <3.00 point average he's well worth a punt on a team place in 2026.

I think Dan T will be exactly what Edinburgh are looking for in a rider. Someone who can compete in Heats 13 & 15. It's something they lacked last season, a season which saw them come narrowly close to a place in the Championship final.

I think George Congreve

Was it real gold? If so i'd keep it under lock and key if i were him. You know what Glaswegian's are like. He will have to nail it down.
-
Oxford look like the best team so far and Ritchings showed at Poole that he will be an adequate reserve this year. If Mitch and Luke take another step in their development 2026 could be Oxford's year.
-
Mitch is by far the better prospect.

He was shockingly bad. The meeting would have actually been better without a referee that night. They could have just got Daphne from the pie hut to officiate.
-
Cammy ruined the 2024 season, no need to look around for any other culprits. He also ruined the 2025 season and he'll ruin 2026 too.
-
Good call. He was starting to show a few flashes of something before his bad crash on the home straight at Ashfield. On his average he could maybe double it.
-
I miss Lee. He was old skool

So Kye will be the third heat leader? I don't think that sounds like a good idea and as for Cameron Heeps i've never know how to judge his career, he just always seems to get picked up by teams based solely on his average. Maybe i'm being unkind and he's a really good team guy but he's not going to add anything onto that average now. better to go for a foreign 5-pointer.

'Unbeatable' is what i heard

He will be 36 when the season opens which is two years younger than Troy Batchelor.

Tigers fans have already decided that they've won the treble with a weaker side than last season so there's no point in the Monarchs even entering a team this year. What say you Edinburgh fans?

'Team manager Cami Brown said: “This is the team we wanted for 2026. It’s a fabulous mix of youth and experience plus so much entertainment. It’s a side of pure excitement." ' I'm curious as to which would Tigers fans prefer - an exciting, entertaining side or a winning side? I'm only asking because i've seen many exciting sides win nothing and many unexciting sides win silverware. And what does 'exciting' really mean in the context of speedway because sometimes entire meetings can produce 14 heats of unexciting action and then throw up a 'heat of the season' and turn a meeting on its head. I tend to find speedway exciting regardless of whether or not there are lots of overtakes, spills and close results, so personally i'd rather see a winning team than "pure excitement". The same goes for the football where most matches are rather boring affairs these days but it just takes one goal to send me home happy. I know an exciting team can also be a winning team but i'd take a winning team, no matter how exciting/bland, any day of the week,

From what everyone was saying on this forum i fully expected Luke Harrison to be nailed on for a starting spot in the Red & White for 2026. And going by what everyone else was saying i'm probably the only one on here who is happy to see Freddy back for the Tigers. I realise he was up and down all season but he did show signs that he was progressing overall so coming back on a sub-3 point average was a good decision by the club to re-sign him. I hope Max Perry manages to get a spot with another team because he's worthy of a No 7 spot in this league. I'm probably alone though in thinking that this isn't as strong a side as last year and i don't think the Tigers will start off as favourites this coming season as i'm looking at other clubs such as Berwick and Worky and liking what i see being built there. I also think Edinburgh will be stronger than last season when they pushed Glasgow very, very close to a place in the Grand Final so i think now is not the time for Tigers' fans to start getting too excited, at least not until September when an underperforming rider gets replaced by a Tarasenko or a Nagel as has usually been the case. Just my opinion.

Oh yes he can

Lay off the weed. Belle Vue have a lot of sway in UK speedway, far more than you think.
-
Clubs like Belle Vue would never support one big league. It would be detrimental to everything they are doing there so it won't happen and everyone can hype it up as much as they want, it just won't happen. And in case anyone has forgotten or weren't alive the last time the two leagues merged, it sucked.
-
It's a very good team and it's possible that Joe T will make a similar breakthrough soon that his brother took last year and Jack Smith is a good enough reserve in this league. The only concerns i would have is Paco and Palovaara as i don't think they will be capable of putting anything more onto the averages they got last season (2025) and i certainly don't think Victor is a 1 or a 5 in this league. I still think it looks stronger than the initial team Edinburgh named going into last season which included an untried Polish rider as their second heat leader.

I can't wait. I am going to write to my local MP. This is an outrage. I may even have to go to the UN and if that fails Points of View.

Who is it?

Chelsea FC launches The Speedway Collection
Nickinho replied to Sir Sidney's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
This just shows how far speedway has fallen over the years. Football in the 80s was heading the same way until they incorporated massive changes to the way the sport was run and how it was promoted. -
A toddler could have guided that team to a title. Or even you.
