Ipswich vs Leicester play off Semi-final 9th Sept
FishersGate replied to ShanoXtra's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Should have Sheffield champions and have it done. Just like the national league. True champions finish top -

Lions are terrible so far but fair play Ipswich. At this rate no one will turn up Thursday at Leicester, we can be a very miserable bunch sometimes -

Think Douglas missing isn't that bad for us. Everyone can take a ride basically including max fricke. Lawson and masters will suitably cover for dougy -
He also doesn't ideally want a national league team next season even though he's been offered one already from Leicester. 15quid a point.

Douglas out for Ipswich meeting. R R in operation, Dougie hopefully back for home leg. Cookie out for both meetings. He is replaced by Kerr and Hagon is back as well -
Spoke to Vinnie Ford at length last night at Leicester, he wearing his Poole jacket and I asked him why he isn't wearing a Leicester one? He said that at Leicester even if you ride for them you have to pay for your own! At Poole they are handed out to the riders. It pains me to say this but Vinnie was comparing Poole and Leicester on how he's been treated and it was night n day. He loves Poole, he said everybody there looks after him and he would love to be back next year although he said he hasn't been offered a deal yet. He does have offers from other clubs though. Just thought you pirates may appreciate the kind words from a young promising rider. Even Joe T said he likes Poole as well. Good luck for the finals Pirates!

If teams can't ride on a Thursday what is the alternative race night for the UK? I know Poole have signed lawson again for 2025 but if Wednesday was avaliable could Poole be interested in moving back up?

Would love to see my club Leicester win the whole thing but like others have pointed out, the breaking of the rules of who rides who has taken excitment off for me. It just doesn't feel right to me . A little bit like the league cup in the football. It just doesn't make sense to me at all. Sheffield should be declared league winners and call it a day. -
I much prefer the of whoever finishes top wins the league, it's a better representation of who is the best team this season. But I do also like the excitement of the play offs. Maybe the knockout cup could be redesigned so there is a play off system in place?

Time to sack Phil Morris?
FishersGate replied to RoundTheBoards's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I'm not sure if he should be sacked but I want to know what he has actually done to improve British speedway since he's taken the reigns? Anyone got anything he's done ? -

I don't have have any inside info on who's at leicester next year. A wild rumour was Robert Lambert coming to Leicester if he drops Sweden next season. A apart from that I can't see Leicester making many changes to the side. Maybe at reserve and that's about it. The big changes I reckon will be at Birmingham and Oxford
-
I'd retain Lingren, Cook, Brennan and maybe Flint. All rising stars seem to struggle in this season. Apart from super Dan T. It's hard to guess but every team is going to make a change so there are options available. Doesn't have to be a super expensive side, just a team that wins more at home. That finish lad could be available along with Tate. Although Belle Vue may have both of them..They need to get a strong number 5 for heats 13 and 15. Think of how many meetings they've lost in heat 15 this season . Brennan and Lampart at 3 n 4 is decent . Lingren at 1, strong number 5 and get a steady eddy reserve and the brummies can optimistic.

Just listened to no brakes no fear with Tolley giving an interview and it sounds Birmingham will be back next year which is great news! He did also say that 4 riders would be coming back? Just a wild guess Brennan, Lampart, Cook and Flint?

Would be attending to support the Lions but just got back from Bloodstock Festival and I'm shattered to say the least. Playing a show of that calibre has taken it out of me for sure. Back to normal now back ro support the Lions. Hoping for a win here. Going for a last heat decider! -
Leicester v Belle Vue 25 July
FishersGate replied to Rob B's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Great result for the Lions. Still work to be done but it all seems to be coming together abit now. Wasn't at meeting but my mate was constantly moaning about the lack of passing at the meeting to my dad, shortly after a voice shouted from a distance said ' oh shut up you ' it was Dave Hemsley ! He doesn't mind getting stick about the track and we all take the piss out of him for it ! Just a good laugh at the end of the day and he certainly enjoys watching meetings with his pals now. He seems much happier. Play offs are now more a game of guess who with the injuries to Ipswich and Sheffield. Can the Lions be a dark horse ? Still not convinced but it's good to see us strong at home again -

Leicester v Ipswich July 18th
FishersGate replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Great result for the Lions just about keeps us in the hunt for the play offs. Thought the crowd was not too bad either. I wouldn't worry too much Witches fans it was just an off night and Emil seems to be hitting top form again from what I saw last night. Once again I was very impressed Keynan Rew, still trying to figure out why his average is so low because everytime he comes to Leicester he seems to ride the track really well. Much better from Luke Becker as well, he looked on the pace and hopefully this is the turning point for him. What about heat 13 aye? That was some race and I haven't seen a race like that at Leicester this season, just shows if you attack the track at Leicested it can produce some really good racing. Just simply sensational stuff. -

Glad Scotty Nicholls is guesting, always glad to see him back at the den and will make this meeting even more interesting. This one is too close to call. Leaning towards an Witches win as they seem to love our track everytime they visit -
If the Brummies do decide to go for it again next season then the team needs to be completely different not just in quality but in its attitude and culture. The fans aren't asking for a world class team but rather one that is decent at home and doesn't seem to throw in the towel. They should be looking at riders such as : Masters, Ben n Zack Cook, Mountain, Simon Lambert, Douglas, King, Lawson etc. Real steady eddy's basically with ofcourse a good number 1 like Lingren if wanted to try GB again

Can't wait for Tolleys post match thoughts, honestly you can tell he's not media savy.. -
I can blame him, surely everyone knows Cook is massively inconsistent at this level and Kemp wasn't even at fault for Leicesters poor form
-
Unfortunately he won't be dropped as he's best mates with the owners, unless he grows a pair and drops him.
-
Stewart has got it all wrong again . Not only has he managed to screw up dropping Kemp for Cook but he's also becoming more and more unpopular with the fans. He seems to be falling out with everyone left right and centre
