2026 Premiership is Go! - At least 5 teams
FishersGate replied to RoundTheBoards's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I think every speedway fan has a right to moan given the fact that in the last 10 years we've lost Birmingham, Wolves, Lakeside, Peterborough, Newcastle, Swindon, Somerset, Rye House, Somerset. Not to mention we nearly lost Ipswich and Sheffield this year and most clubs run at a loss every season. But don't worry il stay really positive and won't moan and pretend everythings great! All jokes aside i wish Northampton the very best. I shall visiting next season hopefully. -

God I hope it works out. But even if it's six teams, we are still at least two teams shorts of a proper league. -
Is he going to retire because he has no premiership team? 🙃
-
Is he pleading poverty? I haven't read it

It's funny how Leicester were at least breaking even in the championship and are now running at a loss in the promised land premiership. -
Truth telling my god what are you on? Meltdown as well! Wow.
-
I've never known so much continuous ignorance from one person... and the beauty is they'll never read this 😂 A lovely message from IainB. The muting is going well I see

Zmarzlik, Laguta, Lingren, Lebedevs, Lambert, Kubera, Madsen, Dudek, Vaculik are all missing from British speedway. The best youngsters aren't here either. Even if we did have them riders they would bankrupt the clubs. How do we pay for them?
-
Dan Thompson didn't quit when he was sacked from Leicester. Neither did his brother. Plenty of riders would stick around I reckon . Stack a shelf or ride a bike ? Give me the bike every day.
-
You don't know either? Only the rider themselves know. But there is plenty of proof they can support themselves riding for just a championship club. I care about every single club. Every single one. Including the NDL clubs. They produce our next Dan Bewleys, Robert Lambert's, Bomber Harris etc. Actually fans do care about the NDL. The problem is the lack riders in it and the lack of support the kids get. My job as a fan is to support them so the conveyor belt of talent keeps flowing. We're going to have to agree to disagree on this one.
-
Well it certainly wouldn't work by TTTs logic because there wouldn't be any riders to sign cause they all quit to start doing a trade lol
-
Basically you don't like anyone else's opinions and kept losing your arguements so you gave up and blocked them? HAHA
-
Liars? Mate you have no idea or neither do I how much riders really earn? But like I've said riders that don't double up still come back! You can't argue with that. IL have what your having jesus. You really think we should tell riders to RETIRE do you? That literally kills British speedway . The NDL would simply die . Every rider started off somewhere. Literally doing it for fun. Investing time and money for the hope they one day can make it. So would you get rid of the NDL? The fact you think riders like Lambert should retire is an insult to him. He's been a great servant to British speedway over years. Promoting the sport by taking his bikes into schools and never giving up. Your head is completely in the sand regarding the current state of the sport in the country. Your just so happy to carry on as normal when there are so many issues right now. Clubs are closing down every year don't you realise that? Your happy with that are you? For riders to double up and bankrupt clubs ? You haven't still answered my questions have you? Or anyone else's? Typical champagne premiership fan.
-
But there are so many riders who manage to ride a speedway bike and not double up leagues and still come back year after year. Why haven't they quit? Maybe it's because they are earning a decent income from speedway? Yes it's not much but if they pay was so bad they wouldn't bother at all. Howarth would be a fool to quit speedway because he couldn't ride in the premiership. The extra meetings in the championship plus a potential rise in crowds and TV deal would surely make it up for it. Plus he would be a heat leader. They can earn decent money. I think personally its just pure greed but I understand what your saying.
-
And why just reply to my comments? Why not IainB or jcone44? Is it because there right and your wrong ? Let's see a constructive reply to them from you then.
-
What's that meant to mean? It's a perfectly good reply. You can't even answer or argue the points I've made along with a few others have made. So what happens when these championship riders who aren't good enough retire. Explain that one then? The truth is YOU CANT. Is that a better reply?
-
The truth is you are simply part of the problem.
-
I can't believe you've just said youngsters should quit if they can't cut it in the championship.....Shocking . So by your shameful logic if you ain't good enough just quit. There's already a rider shortage you'd just make it worse .
-
That's an assumption. He could easily drop form ..Simon Lambert ain't got a prem club . Should he quit speedway? What about some of the younger riders not good enough for the premiership yet. Should they quit and also and hold the fans and clubs to ransom? Drew Kemp will likely get dropped again at some point, I imagine he earns much less than Kyle in the championship. Quit again? Connor Mountain? I could go on...
-
So let's say Kyle Howarth gets dropped by Leicester this year for poor form and doesn't find another club. Should he quit Glasgow?
-
Just seen a clip of Kyle Howarth saying if it's one big league he would quit. I'm sick of riders dismissing the one league concept. I'm not buying it at all that they would be broke all of a sudden due to not doubling up.

Business as usual then. Not for me. NDL it is!!
