Not sure where I said any of that but I will try and make this simple for you to get your head around it. Ultimately I would be fairly content finishing second in the league after seeing 12+ meetings that were chock full of passing and entertainment and that is basically the story for the Tigers anyway for the last good few seasons. Trophies in speedway are just not quite the same in other sports. Again, would be brilliant to win something from time to time but winning trophies is definitely not the be all and end all in speedway.

I would disagree completely with that. Fair enough the trophies have not been flying in the door but I have never been more entertained attending Ashfield in the last 5 years than I have in the last 20. Truthfully, at the end of the day I would take that all day everyday and twice on Sundays over winning silverware. You want to see the team do well and it would of course be nice to win something but the knowledge of turning up to Ashfield and witnessing top class competitive racing outweighs silverware in my honest opinion.

Glasgow v Edinburgh CL 16/9/23 @19-30

Summarised - The old cliche, heat 13 was worth the admission alone. Brilliant to see a new rider to British speedway like Borke giving it a real go. Definitely one to watch out for if you are chasing down Harris on his own track in heat 15. If Mr Cook had turned up tonight Edinburgh could have been looking at an away win. Potentially time for the tigers to start pondering a change. -

I think the track conditions today would have been perfect for him 10 years ago. Unfortunately with such a long time out I feel the sport has passed him by, as he seems off the pace. Maybe it is his equipment or the muscle he carries but something is just not clicking for him. -

A resignation after this meeting would cheer me up. -
This coverage has been nothing short of deplorable and you are kidding yourself on thinking any different. Kelvin ‘no doubt about that’ Tatum just does not cut it either. How on earth David Rowe does not get the main gig for this sport I do not know. BSN is the future and present clearly.

Great start to the season for the Tigers but a great evenings racing ruined by that stunt by Craig Cook. I personally found that more than deliberate at the time and going by his tweet it shows it was. But what do you expect from a man who assaults women. -
Vissing confirmed as the as the last rider to complete a full team. Superb.

I am delighted with the signings so far. This Glasgow side are shaping up really well in terms of quality.

I heard the bookies were offering 1/100 for Craig Cook not to turn up tonight.

Ben Basso is an absolute animal on a speedway bike. I would be extremely disappointed if we do not get at least one more season of watching that every week. Truly mouthwatering stuff. Not sure what changed with JS tonight but he deserves a mention. If he continues to race like that I look forward to seeing him at Ashfield more often. -

I have said it once and I will say it again. The camera work from Eurosport is absolutely woeful. -
Today was exceptional in terms of entertainment. Just about every race had passing and when it comes to speedway you cannot ask for more than what you were given today. However, Glasgow track staff really need to get control of the dust. I was recently at Oxford and it was 26 degrees and there was next to nothing coming up until heat 15. Today they watered the track before the kids race and once that was finished it had already dried back up for the riders coming out. It obviously must be difficult to get it right but that was a dust bowl from heats 1-15 today. Maybe need to invest in a new sprinkler or fans could bring water pistols and spray from the stands. All that aside, that today felt like the starter before the main event GP qualifier next month which should be brilliant.

Another disappointing away heat 15 for the tigers. Could point fingers at more than one rider but that is speedway sometimes. Well done to Hume, excellent performance all night from him and was unlucky against Ruml who always seems to improve as the meeting progresses. On a side note, very sneaky from Oxford not letting you pay cash or card at the gate. This forces you to pay online which includes a £1 admin fee. Can be difficult for elderly people to pay this way via the QR code. -

If it is forecast rain then get the covers down. All this could of been avoided today if the track was protected for the 30-45 minutes it actually rained. -

Rain forecast for 5. The new start time. Unsure how a 30-45 minute shower has caused this much damage to the track. Track covers could have been used in this circumstance, surely. It has not rained once since quarter past 2.
