Ipswich v Belle Vue POSF Leg 2
SilentLurker replied to blue witch's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The amount of mistakes Telvin Katum has made yet again tonight while repeating the same old regurgitated phrases is unforgivable at this point. Cannot wait to get back to BSN and get away from this tinpot TNT gutter tripe. -

I know. I am just putting it out there as nobody seems to have picked up on it. NO DOUBT ABOUT THAT -

Emils polish team are in the final in Poland and given his huge crash last season he has clearly been warned not to take risks in our tin pot league. -

I am getting to the point where I will pay this man to personally commentate on live speedway for me. Commentary is a vital connection between the racing and the fans it is imperative it is rectified to keep the sport going. Kelvin Tatum just does not cut it anymore. -
You are sounding like someone who would lose their temper over the council changing the bin collection to a different day of week. Change is inevitable in life and speedway is absolutely closing in on its last lap as a sport in this country. Change is badly needed and I believe that bigger tracks and more consistent entertaining races would massively help.

This sort of response merits a stupid reply so I will give it one. What can they do? They can win the lottery and buy the rights to the whole stadium, kick out the stock cars and create a Belle Vue/Glasgow/Workington hybrid track. Does that answer your question? How clubs can sort out their track is not something I can speak about but why they should try and change them is. Narrow tight tracks have no place in modern speedway. The track Ipswich have is not even that narrow but the racing line is, a better shape would work wonders.

Not for me this take.. as the sport has evolved the tracks have not. If you watch racing at Belle Vue, Glasgow or Workington it is like watching a different sport to this absolute tripe on display. Riders are flat out pushing the bikes to their limit and have room for slight error with more room. Tracks like Ipswich, Poole and Edinburgh the riders are hunched over the the bikes trickling round like amateurs just happy to get 4 laps in. The only slight exception to this for me is Plymouth but that is more of a novelty because of how small it is. But these narrow tight tracks are holding the sport back.

I used to think Poole was the worst track in the country but this Ipswich track comfortably takes that accolade. Can anybody send me a link to a good race around here? Almost every rider aside from Doyle and Emil look like complete novices wobbling round and in fairness Emil looks like he is massively struggling tonight.

Can anybody tell me the name of this commentator and if he is still involved in speedway? I could listen to speedway on the radio with this guy commentating on it.

The Sheffield track makes Pooles track look like Belle Vue on finals night.
