Armadale Devils becomes the Edinburgh Monarchs Speedway Academy. A good change from the club, this gives a proper pathway for younger riders to develop through the academy and also allows a fresh start to the NDL as recent seasons haven’t been great.
Looking forward to 2023, it should be a very competitive league.
Brilliant news for the club and the NDL.
Not sure how many of last years side will be there next season. I doubt we’ll see Complin back now and Tom, Danny & Elliot are elsewhere. Would love to see Josh return as he was progressing well towards the end of the season. I fancy there may be a couple of surprises in the 1-7.
Personally, I feel a lot of that daftness started due to the new breed of Glasgow ‘fans’ that weren’t around before the takeover and started turning up thinking they’re entitled to win everything. There’s obviously a minority from both sides who take things too far but let’s hope things can calm down and everyone can feel welcome at home or away.
Their tail will be very weak on the road but may be ok around Sandy Lane. I think their top 3 is capable of scoring 35 between them at most tracks so if Heeps can regain anything near his 2019 form and Jenkins can push on then I think they may be massively underrated.
I think that it’s a very solid 1-7 with a lot of potential. Josh and Cookie will be as dominant a top 2 as any. Kye was really developing into that third heat leader last season until his crash against Redcar. Paco looked unbeatable around Armadale when he made the gate, he just needs to find some consistency. Lasse showed that he is capable of winning races at this level and really impressed away at Redcar and Scunthorpe. Jacob progressed as the season went on and he should really kick on with a full season under his belt. Kyle really shouldn’t be under any pressure at all which should benefit him massively.
We will be underrated as always but I reckon this team could mix it with anyone over 2 legs.
Absolute nonsense. He’s one of the highest averaged riders in the NL ahead of Stoneman, Coles, Atkins, Killeen, Pijper, Mulford etc.
He hasn’t progressed as much as we all thought he would but he averages over 4 around Armadale so hopefully this will be the season he kicks on.
An extremely solid lineup in my opinion. I think they all have the ability to increase their averages - I expect Lawson, Thomas and Zach to easily add a point on.
Newman and Roynon could be the strongest reserve pairing in the league if they keep fit.
You never know… we won the league in 2015 with 2 x 3 pointers (the lowest average possible at the time).
Jonas will obviously improve on his assessed 5.00 average and I expect Leon to kick on again. I do think Jorgensen will drop a couple of points from his starting average so you may see a change after that if timed correctly.
