No we went to the 7 man teams from 98 onwards. That was issue with 6 man teams that I remember, had 3 big hitters and 3 essentially reserves on today's standards. Very rarely would 2nd strings beat heat leaders

6 man teams I believe were last used in 1997. Thinking back to Glasgow side of that time think was Neil Collins, Mick Powell, will Beveridge, Grant MacDonald, Brian turner and I forget the 6th rider. I believe lowest averaged rider was classed as a reserve and could take up to 7 rides. There were 12 programmed heats and 3 nominated heats. Were allowed unlimited TS if more than 8 behind However the guest issue still existed. Think we won at Middlesbrough (could be wrong) due to a fantastic guest performance by Scott Robson.
