  1. Penny is due to drop for Bickley as well. Just wonder if a 2nd season at the same track could do wonders for him. In the drew kemp mould that they've learnt their trade time to kick on. Seem to remember Stevie worrall was kicking about the same kind of level then all of a sudden jumped from about a 3 to 6.5 with the enemy been heat leader ever since
  2. What I'd add as well is that ulle was written off when signed for us, was just about having season of his life in both leagues when got injured
  3. Think bandits still be play off contenders, couple of improvers could make up for any potential deficiency from proctor. Could go unbeaten at home, don't fancy the stripes chances there anyway
  4. Strange one, on his early Redcar days certainly would be a good signing. But don't think he showed any greater progress in some late season outings. No doubt get a spell at reserve after 1st set of averages might reignite him.
  5. Absolutely, well built side. Strength throughout team couple riders could significantly increase averages
  6. My vision of the Berwick final rider situation is every single day Gary flint phoning Thomas Jorgensen saying please, please change your mind and ride championship in hope he finally gives in
  7. You're probably in better position to judge tbf, being southern based riders. Will have home track advantage once get dialled being only Edinburgh similar size. As I said was just what they do away which will define their season. Wouldn't be the first time I've been wrong
  8. Wouldn't disagree with that. Down to injuries as much as anything as usual too.
  9. Nothing against Plymouth think win plenty at home, just don't see them doing much away with their bottom 3. Be in play off contention imo 5/6 teams better built to get points on the road
  10. Pretty sure Marcin was only given authority to ride in championship by the authorities because his season was effectively over as didn't make the play offs. From what I've been told they're reluctant to allow riders to go to the championship
  11. Much preferred the firestarter for Shane anyway myself
  12. Given mean more or less same thing seems bit petty to pick holes in it. But whatever boats your float
  13. I think reserves look far stronger this season without the rising stars, the 2 pointers might find it bit harder with no like for like in every team. Kemp shout be kicking on now, in play off matches I saw him at home he was very good, the 2 times saw him at Glasgow thought Willie Lawson was back
  14. Only need to look at Berwick for evidence in 2021. Were in most meetings home and away until heats 11/12 then lost out due predominantly to heats 13 and 15.
  15. Sounds like much same dimensions as Glasgow (the messiahs last track project) since his work the track been brilliant as several racing lines and loads of passing
  16. I'm not clued up on the visa rules but what about Aussie guys who've not been over for a few years? Kozza Smith, Taylor Poole, Dakota North and Arthur sissis come to mind. Was erratic Canadian rode for Sheffield few years back legault. Maybe these guys retired I don't know
  17. Glasgow's traditional race night was Friday night. Edinburgh took it in 1996 as the Scottish monarchs operating out of shawfield and continued to use it in 1997 when moved to armadale. As a result when Glasgow came back in 1997 had to use Sundays. As Newcastle I'm sure will confirm as a Sunday track it is much harder to attract riders and the facenna ownership wished to move back to the traditional Friday night race night. And in addition by that point there was actually minimal fans attending both tracks
  18. My concern is will they allow clubs to do their own in house service which may be seen as a direct competitor? For example bsptv at at Edinburgh, Glasgow live stream on same night would take potential customers away from the bsptv meeting
  19. My point was based on styles not abilities. I'm also reminded of a televised meeting where bjarne was riding against Poole, heat was stopped on lap 3 and was re-run. Turbo twins openly laughed in referees face at his explanation that bjarne could have passed them.
  20. No absolutely he's a class act and you expect double figures any meeting he's in, but he's got his way of doing it and doesn't take any unnecessary risks. Yeah bjarne is another in that mould. Helluva rider but you're rarely going to leave the meeting raving about him. Whereas Noddy, Darcy, Shane Parker (to name just 3) had you on edge of your seat most races
  21. Richard Lawson is a very good speedway rider, but entertaining he is not. Not quite a gating tart but in 3 seasons think can count on 2 hands number of passes he had after 2nd bend
  22. You build it into contracts they need to ride in Britain obviously as well. We're so far behind other nations, Danes have about 5/6 off top of my head that are next in line as potential top riders. Our current crop probably best been around for a long time but we won't do jack if they can't get experience riding on the continent. End of the day look at Lambert and Dan, they leave anyway!!
  23. Him and Anders Thomsen make a good start from the asset base
  24. Well when he's 25 and maybe not extraliga level he'll be needing a place back in Britain won't he? Otherwise I'm sure a prem club will be looking to buy him in 2/3 years time at a nice profit
  25. You know, it's something crossed my mind, with Russia, Germany, Latvia having teams in the polish lower leagues why don't Britain look into it? Get British riders started in Poland and continental experience
