Redcar v Newcastle Tyne Tees Trophy 25/03/22
Jaizer replied to Yearbyred's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Whilst this is what the majority of us purists want, the reverse is that the Glasgow promotion have significantly increased its attendance (certainly pre-pandemic) by having entertainment during the interval mostly aimed at kids. Having this means kids bug their parents to go and there are far more youngsters at ashfield regularly than I've seen at any other track. And while I have my issues with it and can extend the meeting beyond 2 hours often, the long term goal is to get kids interested and more people through the gates so you stomach it. -
Just to play devil's advocate, if it's a rider who was excluded from signing for the 10 other championship clubs due to riding Polish 1st div and say Denmark and the prem then I see where the ruling is coming from tbh. It can't be right that because a club has an issue with a rider they can get a bigger pool of riders to choose from to replace that rider

Crang rode for the NL side and Joe T was a mascot I believe. The match is Vs "Coventry select" no mention of bees Want to pedantic what was Richard Lawson doing in a "Brummies past and present" side at Wolverhampton?

Fair point well made. Wee bit fixture manipulation, that's what was required -

As Brummies or bandits fans absolutely. But just think missed a trick not throwing in Oxford Vs Poole or Glasgow Vs Edinburgh intice more neutrals in. Just an opinion. Or Berwick Vs Redcar if was destined to be Berwick at home..don't want wrath of bandits fans lol -

Big home win I'd have thought. Vissing should do ok as an ex bandit, beyond that doesn't look a strong side for shielfield. Don't see many teams taking anything from Berwick at home this season. On another note it's not a particularly enticing meeting to start the streaming with. -
Looks like young Mr Brennan should be stepping up to genuine heat leader this season looking at his performances this week at BV and Peterborough. Ulle seems to be getting better with every meeting as well. Be lying if said didn't want to win something but more looking forward to the excitement levels this season. Team full of (mostly) young racers going hell for leather on a proper racetrack

Leicester vs Birmingham 26/03/2022 KoC 1st Round 1st Leg

Not no.1 vissing has higher average. And we got to use the facility at Poole and Leicester before nowak rode for us. Same with Poole and the Czech. Has the rule been changed this season? -

Edwards is way better than that. Very impressed with him when was guesting for the enemy at the end of last season -
It's the guarantees that's killing it. First I knew it them was Harris with the stripes. Clearly lacked motivation he had in premiership, seems common place now
-
Hope it doesn't come to one of young guys losing team place as need to sign 2 5.5/6 point riders to be competitive. If that happens due to a bspl decision how can it possibly be in best interest of British speedway
-
Can't believe disrespect to a guy whose been a top performer in this league for a long long time before he's even turned a wheel in anger. Have your opinions but reverting to name-calling I find totally pathetic
-
Might've been tempted run Claus and auty at 1 and 2 at home. Morris and Shanes can look after themselves there and gives a strong pairing with no pressure on the top 2 after time out from sport. Not b'ham fan just an observation
-
Why don't they get the 0.75 facility Poole and Glasgow used last season?
-
Claus vissing average is higher than Ellis, therefore he will be no.1
-
There are a couple what ifs in Glasgow side, Poole you more or less know what you're getting and will always be in contention to win meetings with that top 3
-
When did Claus vissing get a British passport?!?
-
I know I think that every year but they always do!
-
With the eve of season upon us thought I'd revisit my updated prediction so here goes. As before no agenda and no offence meant just an opinion. Oxford Poole Glasgow Leicester Berwick Edinburgh Plymouth Scunthorpe Redcar Birmingham Newcastle

Haha tbf Ricky's had couple seasons like that now. I believe some in the east thought he was manipulating during his time there haha. He came onto a game end of season, was magic at armadale in play offs.
-
Not that I'm bitter about it or anything
-
Yes, after his year of average manipulation at Glasgow
-
It's an interesting conversation as to who potentially has the strongest reserves. I personally think bailey and Hume will be a pretty strong and based on averages not far off the highest 6 and 7 (but then I would I suppose). Agree Poole look weak, but probably only need 5/6 points a meeting from them. Berwick will be strong as be Theo or proctor drop down. Beyond that really all on a par imo. With RS system dropped only really Poole and maybe Newcastle have an out and out no.7 all the rest of reserves you'd fancy to have a spell in the main body at some time in the season.
