  1. Does anyone know of tero aarnio or lasse bjerres commitments as a replacement for covatti.
  2. Stefan Nielsen possibly open to improvement if he stays injury free? But team comes in a little under the limit then
  3. Wow thats great to hear. Testament to the promotion. It goes against l the doom and gloom you usially associate with speedway at the moment
  4. I might be wrong but £100 a point doesnt seem out of the question to me? As a worst case scenario for the promotion the team wins every match 60-30. Thats £6000 outlay on £100 a point. If tickets for home matches are £20 each then youd need 300 fans to break even on that £6000. Obviously only have half the matches at home so on that basis double that 300 fans to cover the away matches to make up the deficit from gate receipts on the away matches. I presume Workington have been well supported since their return so will they get 600 through for home matches in the championship? Obviously the figures above are based on 60 point wins which wont happen every week. If Vissing is asking for £100 a point your number 1 & 5s will be asking for more but the second strings and reaerves wont so that cancels it out. From the outside it doesnt seem madness to think gate receipts can cover rider points? Then other sales of merchandis and food can coer other outlays for home matches to an extent. I base all this on the premise that running a speedway team for a promotion is a break even businesses at best
  5. Other riders who within the remaining average allowance and have been on these shores the last couple of years Jonas Knudsen 5.39 Anders Rowe 5.95 Broc Nicol 5.95 Dillon Ruml 5.47 Hans Andersen 6.32 Ricky Wells 5.20 Nikolai Busk Jacobsen 6.34 Danny Gappmeier 5.94 Kasper Anderson 4.10 Theo pijper 4.43 James Wright 5.24 Out of these Anders Rowe seems the man most likely to be going places but not sure of his commitments on the continent
  6. Would Danny Gappmeier fit? Also out of interest does anyone know Jack Smiths championship average? He always makes big noise about nit getting a championship birth and hes got fixed up in Sweden and Poland fir next year when he would have been on paper one if the strongest reserves! Just thinking if say celina leibman doesnt turn out as a good move fir all parties maybe jack would be a shout as hes gone well at northside a few times last year
  7. Does anyone know if Batchelor is already in the UK? Wouldnt he need a visa to ride which would take a few weeks to get signed off? Or was the Batchelor move already in motion when Rogers was in charge? Will he be available Wednesday? Personally i think Batchelor is a good signing. Did well with Kent and largely did ok for Ipswich at the tricky no.5 spot. Sedgman having a great year so keep at 5 and bring Batch in to the engine room with Bowtell. Its an improvement for sure!
  8. Would "any" signings bring in an extra 300 or 400 supporters though? From what ive read on here the speedway public in and around Birmingham just arent having the Brummies!
  9. Ive always thought joint venture mergers at the highgate dog track (south yorkshire) or The Valley (south wales) dog track and the Tir Prince trotting track (north wales) could be potential ventures could maybe host some speedway?
  10. How come pearson doesnt get a reassessed average for 2023 after last year? Imo brum would have been better going with a 2.00 reaerve and using the extra 2 points to find a rider in the low 6s
  11. Can anyone confirm whats happened with josh auty. Is he carrying on? If hes to carry he really needs his average reassesing, cant catch a break!
  12. I think starke for vissing, complin for shanes and morley for isnt a million miles away from what you expect. But from my reckoning max clegg, the thompsons and cameron heeps could have all covered for either morris or neilsen. Wells or batchekor could have stepped in for auty. 1. Batchelor or Wells 2. Clegg 3. Starke 4. Heeps 5. Sedgman 6. Complin 7. Morley Whats the rule surrounding unattached riders? Wethers could have stepped in for Vissing and starke rode at 1? Also kyle newman, ty Procter, josh macdonald and george congreve too? Surely Congreve fancied it after being dropped by newcastle and still being here? Rode on the IOW too last night. Would have made sense logistically
  13. No doubt he's trying too hard, but whats happened to Ash Morris of late
  14. It did seem like a cop out from him to be fair
  15. I cant remember which bsn meeting it was but start of seas9n roynon said hes paying 3k for his engine tunes where as other lads are paying 6k and that was why there was a disparity between the heat leaders in the cl and the reserves and 2nd strings. Its a fair comment. The 2nd strings in the cl who dont ride prem are very hit and miss and home strack bullies fir the most part. Roynon, morris, clegg, lambert, wright et al But theres definitely a market for this type of rider
  16. It brighter news Sedgman with a great night for Sheffield. The one bright spark of brums campaign
  17. Arena racing co. As long as the bags can be streamed through the week they break even with the betting co payout. Make their good money on public race nights. Speedway largely an inconvenience
  18. What a great team showing from the brummies, great win tonight
  19. As for vissing he scored well in the rained off meet, 8 form 3 i think it was. He needs to be hitting at least 8/9 at home to support sedgy and stefan
  20. Realitically with redcars strong heat leaders you really need to target ht 2, 4, 8, 12 and 14 as the opportunities for heat advantages. That in mind shanes should definitely be in at 7 to ensure the heat advantages against the redcar reserves and second strings are taken. All out attack against the 2nd string and reserves and hopefully pack up for 3-3 where weight, riss or kerr feature IMO
  21. Ill be suprised if theres any changes at all for brum unless vissing or auty tell rogers they dont want to commit for the rest of the year Realistically dropping pearson and suty will allow brum to bring in a combo of starke, wethers, wright or clegg For me and starke and clegg a deffo improvement on current showings from pearson and auty. I feel sorry for auty if he does lose his spot though next to no speedway for him for the last 3 seasons. He needs a long enough stint for his inflated average to start falling to the 5.5 mark. He then becomes attractive next year. Otherwise if hes a 7.4 man again next year what teams are going to take the risk unless late to team building? Without a reduction in average for him i think he retires end of the season
  22. If shanes doesnt score a hatful tonight he never will. Brummies win depends on how wells and morris do but at keast with pickering theres a rider capable of winning 13 and 15.
