What happened to the tie up with that promotion company that the BSPL had prior to covid ?, It was run by a young lady if i recall Top Hat Promotions or something like that.
-
Nope they aint listening and never seem to listen, the majority at the top seem to regard supporters as someone to be put up with rather than treated as customers, this is an attitude thats prevailed for far to long and continues to be the case, those at the top need only look to the Island near to you to see what can be done with a little effort, at least whenever Iv visited there the promoters have always made the effort to make me feel welcome, rather than someone who is there on sufference. With regards the websites again you are right, the first thing I would do is have a different website server rather than the standard thats the norm for most Teams, PR! do they even know what it is ?.

Birmingham Brummies 2020

There is the possibility of running an NDL team in addition to Championship Speedway would that be more cost effective than only running 14 or so meetings ?, Iv no idea as im not an accountant, but if the rumoured 50k is a fixed figure whatever the number of meetings you may as well use the dates that you have, and it would give Mr Rogers an NDL Team to manage at the level he is best at. -

Generally agree with a lot of what you say is correct, however few points i would like to make about ARC yes they are in the business of making profits and they are not concerned wether or not anyone comes through the gate for Greyhound meetings at PB, they primarily make money from televised Greyhound meetings they get a substantial amount of money from each of those meetings, and i do believe the Brummies will come to the Tapes in 2022. However apart from those 2 points your pretty much spot on especially about fans being replaced "we are all getting older" and when Iv been to PB they generally have a bigger percentage of senior citizens than most other Teams, 1,000 per meeting i cant see it being achieved where are they suddenly going to come from ? after all they havent been there for a few seasons, and if they have Track issues during the first few meetings then its going to be a big big struggle. I wish them luck should they go ahead as im sure most of us do. -
If the BSPL were to do a survey to find out the average age of spectators that go to watch live Speedway they may find out the true state of British Speedway, for sure it IS broke but they year on year make no attempt to fix it, I will guarantee now that at least 1 other Team will fall by the wayside in 2022, last team standing turn the lights out please. One other fact some fail to realise is that any NEW Promoter cannot even vote or propose any new measures for 3 years, so he/she can see obvious problems within the Sport but cant even propose/vote for any changes, but he/she can continue to throw money at Speedway but cant do anything about it for 3 years, except walk away how stupid is that ?. Fixed racenights, Doubling up are not in the best interests of British Speedway, they are in fact detrimental to British Speedway but the powers that be cant see any further than the end of there noses.

Whilst trying to be diplomatic the P**i word is used commonly where i live, is it a form of racism ? Iv no idea, but they seem to be doing allright around here property ownership by Asian groups is sky high primarily in the form of HMO,s which in my opinion will cause things to build up into something even stronger in the years to come.I will repeat again the words used to me by a former workmate some years ago "we are far more racist than you" those were his exact words, think about it and was/is he right ?.

ARC or to be more exact Rachel Corden is no friend of Speedway she is the former owner of Nottingham Greyhound Stadium until it was sold to ARC where she was then offered and accepted a senior position within ARC management, Her husband Mark Bird is the CEO of the GBGB which is the Greyhound equivelant of the BSPL so what Corden wants she very often gets, Im told that ARC allegedly wont offer any Tenant more than a 1 year lease how true that is i dont know but iv been told that from a very reliable source. Would any of you invest in a Speedway team with no guarantee of having a racetrack after 1 season ?. -
Birmingham ? they have at least been viable in the NDL.
-
If you are correct which iv no reason to doubt, then why is that ? Ohhhhh i forgot the BSPL in there wisdom decided to dumb down the NL, again short sighted gain for long term loss which just about sums up the BSPL over the years.
-
They have short memories, and even shorter when it comes to the RS program, with regards Buxton it would be great to see them back in a weaker and cheaper NDL.

Why dont you ask him?, at least he is making an effort i dont see anyone else trying at least not publically, my own thoughts are that this alleged rent increase may be the final nail, unless somone has spare cash to susidise the Speedway rather than giving it to HMRC. -
Can someone tell me, whats the point of having a RS scheme in the Premier League but not in the Championship ?, surely the point is progression of young riders so it should follow that the RS scheme means the Championship is the natural step up for young riders then the Premiership.

Makes me worry about Birmingham and Newcastle both having the same Landlords, and both having struggled to get through the 2021 season. -

Premiership race nights.
heathen52 replied to SteveLyric2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
So therefore when CVS says he wants to have more teams in the top League, its idle talk because Wolves cant move to the Championship even if he wants because they dont/cant have any other race night according to what you say. -
Whats happening with Birmingham ?
heathen52 replied to Gerbat1875's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I had heard there were a couple of interested parties as to how far they went/gone i have no idea but it does seem to have gone quiet, the persons mentioned have both been involved in the Sport for many years in different aspects and are Midlands based, but i suspect many people must have heard the same rumours. -
National League 2021 - has it been abandoned?
heathen52 replied to old bob at herne bay's topic in National League Speedway
Iv no idea where the NDL goes from here, will the BSPL keep it to its current points level which will mean some riders will fall by the wayside because of averages, some of those that move up will also find it tough because of the inflated averages due to the BSPL imposed points limit, they have dug a bloody deep hole that they need to get out of, if keeping NDL costs down is the most important aspect of the NDL then i fear for its future, the BSPL need to look at the costs of senior racing had they done this in previous seasons then the NDL and Speedway in the UK might not be in its present predicament, role on 2022 and lets see what those in power decide for next season. -
Premiership race nights.

Why ?, The Greyhounds only race on Thursday and Saturday eveningshttps://monmoregreyhounds.com/Race-days , and Cradley originally used to have a Tuesday racenight before switching to Mondays. -

That was my first thought 6 man Teams, you can also add Rory Schlein to the retirees. I dont see how the Sport can afford International stars, and it wouldnt necesarily improve the racing it would just mean the second reserves would have less chance of winning. First of all we need to get the product right over here with the riders that we have, to begin with get rid of doubling up/down which one League would see the back of. -
No Conspiracy theory, the facts are the Rob Godfrey allegedly said Adam Ellis was ill, when in fact according to the riders dad he knew all along that Adam Ellis was unavailable for this meeting due to other commitments, that in itself is bad enough but to have have come from the BSPL Chairman makes it even worse. Now the Teams for tomorrow ?.
-
Godfrey has already said he is not in favour of an independant person/body running Speedway, Its what many fans think is needed but most Promoters seem blind to the obvious, decisions are taken by the BPSL which favour certain Teams, but are to the detriment of the Sport as a whole in the UK.

Yes his Son posted that it was a Sidecar accident.

What a difficult weekend for Fans of a certain era, firstly Colin and now Alan (Big al) as he became known, Alan never gave less than 100% for all the Teams that he rode for especially the Heathens over many years, I knew earlier in the week that it was touch and go with the serious injuries he received from an accident riding in a scramble meeting last weekend, RIP Big al, and condolences to his family who i know will be hard hit by his passing.

Thoughts on Perry Barr, Iv looked at the Greyhound fixtures and it seems Perry Barr is free on Sundays. Iv thought for a few seasons there is an obvious way to save Speedway at Perry Barr, but i know some fans are set against it for whatever reason. There are some things that cant be changed such as prices of food etc etc at PB, however the Speedway could be subject to approval by the BSPl, double headers have been held at various times over seasons for as long as i can remember, so why not make double headers at Perry Barr a regular thing involving not 1 home Team but 2 these being Birmingham Brummies and Cradley Heathens putting it bluntly a Track share by not 1 but 2 teams which could encompass two seperate promotions (or One) whichever was achievable. The biggest factor in this would be cost savings by the Promotion due to a sharing of Costs for Rent, Equipment, etc etc. This may or may not mean The Brummies could survive and would also enable The Heathens to return with meaningful racing and i do not mean NDL racing by either I mean Championship or/and Premier League racing for both Teams. Iv no idea if this is do-able but just thinking of a way forward which could help both Teams, because it seems ridiculous to me that we may have a Track available (Hopefully) which wont be used should Birmingham not find a new Promoter, when a few miles away we have another Team that has support but NO Track to ride on, I know there are some supporters dead set against this for whatever reason not least PB being unpopular with Cradley fans, this would be a full blown Track Share rather than the previous Lanlord (Brummies) and (Rent Boys) Cradley, Is it do-able providing Promoters can be found ?, and obviously subject to BSPL and ARC at Perry Barr. -

I rather suspect it will be someone else rather than the Masons if Birmingham is to carry on into 2022, The Masons have already said they wont be carrying on in 2022 and its had a detrimental affect on there Health with all the issues that they have had to face in 2021. Lets hope that there is someone out there brave enough to take up the promotion duties at Birmingham lets be honest if the second city cant support Speedway then where can it get enough support?.
