I presume young Pearson needed a visa so perhaps Brum can get around the visa issue in the same way they have done with Pearson ?.
-
So is Starkey riding for Plymouth this season or not ?.
-
I had been led to believe there was going to be a Cradley Heathen challenge fixture in there somewhere, need to put my glasses on because I can't see it.
-
I think you may have the overseas bit right, but look to the Stars and add some stripes That seems to be the general opinion where he will be from.
-
and existing planning permission.

Looking at the list Proctor seems to have lost his appetite for the sport, Smith NDL level rider, McDonald has yet to reach his average, Andersen if he sorts out his engines has the ability, Royno love the guy but should stick to the Mic now, Kinsley gate and go in the NDL cant gate in the Champ, which leaves Gino he would be my guess, but Kasper is more than capable just get someone to sort his bikes out, is the delay in announcing the final rider due to work permit issues ?, so rule out Kasper for the UK next season.

With the signing of James Wright that leaves the Brummies 8.5 to play with for the last 2 riders, which way will they go ? 2 x 4+ riders or a 2 pointer with a 6+ rider, personally I would choose the later because if Sedgy has an off night you are relying on a 4 pointer to back up Nick in the later heats, with a 6+ rider at least its a better balance than Nick and Sedgy with 5 x 4+ riders, unless there is a new overseas rider coming on a 4 that will average 6/7 points, an interesting choice to be made by LR.

I would hope that LR would have considered Dan Thompson and Sam Hagon , both have the potential to improve.

I thought Mildenhall had the same landlord as Oxford ie Kevin (biff) Boothby?.

https://www.devonlive.com/news/local-news/torquay-united-chairman-says-still-7651025?utm_source=linkCopy&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=sharebar I never knew that he was involved at Oxford but I do know he closed down Bristol, Milton Keynes, Reading, and now Swindon Speedway, every one of them their were promises of new Stadiums being built but we are still waiting for the first new build Stadium from this guy, Torquay fans need to be very careful when this guy becomes involved because he is full of Bullrubbish and false promises, I know he still has the lease at Poole Speedway but has closed the Greyhound side of things Iv no doubt he is playing a long game down there possibly hoping the Speedway closes then the Stadium becomes unviable, incidentally who does own Torquay Uniteds ground, is it the Council or one of this guys companies ?.

RIP Swindon Speedway, yet another added to a long line of Tracks being developed, but with GI as owners of the Stadium this was always going to happen.

Edinburgh - new home required….
heathen52 replied to JanAndersen's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Im sorry for Edinburgh fans that they have lost out in there bid for the land, however Councils tend to have many faces depending on who they are speaking to. Let me give an example down here in the West Midlands or to be more precise Cradley Heathens the 2 local Councils nearest to our former home Sandwell MBC and Dudley MBC, Lion Farm Playing Fields comes under Sandwell MBC and is one of the many HM The Queens Diamond Jubilee Fields given protected status of in perpetuity, however Sandwell MBC have given a developer an option to build a shopping outlet on this site, therefore they are prepared to overturn the "In perpetuity status" given to the Fields, now lets move to Dudley MBC a site was recently identified as possibly being suitable and only roughly a mile or so from the old Dudley Wood site, the Council leaders response to this site was as follows. For information this site is a Field in Trust site and was dedicated as a Queen Elizabeth II Park as part of the Queens Diamond Jubilee. Therefore, this site would not be supported. However, I am happy to meet again if other sites are available. So we have 1 Council (Sandwell MBC)that will happily overturn an in perpetuity protection notice but the neighbouring Council (Dudley MBC)who use the same protection to prevent Speedway returning. I can only wish Edinburgh Speedway all the best in there search for suitable land. -
Jeez I was going to come over to watch this, however seeing the assembled Cradley Team I wont be coming to watch our noses rubbed in the dirt, thats a poor team thats been put together under the Cradley name, I make it 3 Heat leaders for the Brummies and 1 for Cradley which can only mean a drubbing, No thanks my money is staying in my pocket.

Panthers v Tigers 29/08/22
heathen52 replied to scoobydoo's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Its heart breaking to see the mess the Sport has got itself in to, and the BSPL seem powerless or brainless to do anything about it, us as fans are indeed impotent to do anything about it but hope season after season the BSPL grasp the nettle but they seem as impotent as us fans , all I can say is the last one out turn the lights off. -
Perry Barr may well be a AV area but being in the area didnt help Orient when they wanted the Stadium that Wet Spam now use, I could well see the Athletics Stadium being used by BCFC as their present home seems to be having some issues with H&S and as most of us know its no longer owned by the Football Club.

Slightly off Speedway but relevant to the discussion "The Midland Hurricanes" were in discussions https://midlandshurricanes.com/news/hurricanes-new-regional-homenbsp about using the alexander stadium long term, how these discussions went I have no idea but it does seem to have gone quiet about what the outcome was/is.

UK speedway slowly dying
heathen52 replied to old bob at herne bay's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Deanno, I know exactly how you feel, the BSPL are in it for there own benefit not for the benefit of Speedway in GB, when the Tuners appear to be the only ones making money from the sport apart from a few over paid riders, those at the top simply wont/cant see where its wrong for a rider to have 2/3 Teams in the same country, as for equipment costs I wont even go there. -

Max dont need to prove anything to the doubters, as I said weeks ago he is better than a reserve, Rogers at Brum missed 2 tricks not signing Max, 1. he is a better rider than some that they have. 2 a fair few Cradley fans would have gone to watch him ride so poor management from Brum. -
Birmingham vs Oxford 20/7/22 (CJL)

https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/forecast/gcqdt4b2x#?date=2022-07-20 Little or no rain in these parts for a week or two, cant see it being any different today the Met office forecast says little or no chance of rain forecast, so Iv no doubt the meeting will go ahead as for the result ? it could go either way but Pickering is riding well and your guys will need to be at their best to get the better of him. -
Whilst I could have understood the need for Houses, do we not have enough McDos and Greggs around the country, the site is going from fast bikes to fast food .
-
Well done for making the journey down, at least you should have had an enjoyable journey back home as its always sweeter when your team wins.

Kick a club when its down?, Im commenting that allegedly riders were not being paid not on the fact that a club has closed, as for being a melon it takes one to spot one, now back to the facts Newcastle closed because of Grant not because I hinted at the fact riders may be owed monies. -

In my opinion Cleggy is a bit better than a Championship reserve, It will probably help that he has a bit of money to invest in equipment, I heard money was a bit difficult to obtain in the North East . -
Beware the owners of the site are in my opinion playing a long game, in that they are hoping the Stadium will eventually become unviable thus helping there long term aim of developing the site, so as long as the Stadium stays financially viable you are safe, good luck and long may Speedway continue at Oxford.
