Don't forget Plymouth and Buxton, but I think it's best to give IOW a miss .
-
With only a few days left to see out June will we get news of the meeting that the Promotion are due to have (late June) with the landlords of Perry Barr or will it be silence ?, whatever the outcome of the meeting I would hope that we get a press release, This meeting will have a bearing on Speedway in the West Midlands and I hope the outcome will be positive.
-
I take it you mean a Budget as in each individual Team ?, because if it's the same budget for every team there is no way of policing it, as it stands we don't have a monetary budget but we have a points limit/budget and that doesn't work either, lets face it Kings Lynn should be in the Championship and so should Peterborough but for the sake of British speedway having a Premier League and a bit of TV money Buster kept both of them in a League where they are making it a joke League, RIP British speedway with these clowns running it.

Birmingham v Berwick Wed 21st June CL

I would not be surprised if you prove to be correct, because if you do get an opportunity to strengthen up due to points you would be foolish not to take it. -
Birmingham v Berwick Wed 21st June CL

Enjoy the meeting, one thing for sure it aint going to get rained off, I think i might well come along myself. Oh by the way get yourself some food before you go in the Stadium, the food inside is expensive and not great value for money. -
From a pretty reliable source, I don't think there was to much help and advice coming from the more senior riders, and that is vital for youngsters trying to make there way in the Sport, personally I think they were probably to busy trying to sort out there own issues.
-
Well they haven't signed a new Aussie but have an old Aussie, there are a few of them over at Edgbaston as well , as for Sam he is young and will only get better he is British, fair play to Brum for giving it a go.
-
They have obviously signed someone to replace James Pearson (Sam Hagon ?) and Kenyan Rew to replace James Wright would be a very good signing, they simply have to beat Berwick at Perry Barr on wednesday if they are to have any hope of making the play offs.
-
The 2 names that I have heard mentioned are one newcomer and one old hand ie Rew and Andersen, would they both fit ?, I think Rew would be a very good signing, Andersen is just earning his pension money these days.
-
This gives the Brummies a tiny bit extra to utilise the 4 points average that James was on, Sam Hagon anyone ?, because I think to strengthen the top end they will need a 2 pointer Hagon for Pearson, they seem to be similar riders average wise in the NDL but Sam's Championship average is 2 as opposed to James 4 points which gives Brum more to play with average wise, bad luck on James but it seems the new manager is not messing around.
-
I would not discount wholesale changes but are the riders available to be able to do that?, Birmingham Speedway is already costing Nigel so what's a few more thousand to get a top top rider.
-
Taken from the updates site; His Morris's"Rolling average is 9.24His 2023 Ave' is 6.49, away is 5.20 and Yesterdays new green sheets has Brummies on 39.61, while Poole are on 39.87 !!

Oxford v Birmingham Wed 14th June CL

Don't tell me they have more roadworks than round here.. -
I suspect the length of that future will depend to an extent on the meeting with the Landlords later this month, if the Landlords want to follow the same pathway as Entain are doing at Monmore, then what's the point in carrying on ?.
-
Whoops yeah, how did I miss the Masons out ?, and if I remember correctly the Cradley promotion also said they lost money at Birmingham when they rode National League, so as you say not great, There does seem to be a consistency no matter who tries.
-
I think Tony Mole made it pay for most of the seasons he was Promoting with Graham Drury as team manager, Patchett never took up his option to buy so I guess he lost money, Phillips lost money hand over fist so much so that Tony Mole had to rescue them, and now Nigel Tolley seems to be losing money by the bucket loads, National League speedway would have at least limited the loses.

09.06.2023 KOC QF L2, Scunny v Brum
heathen52 replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I'm still trying to work this one out, do you mean the Brummies may get more because they are dropping there averages ?, anyways yet again the Brummies fail to get 30 points, they simply have to make 2/3 changes otherwise they will be lucky to win another meeting. -
The final sentence is pretty much spot on The Venue, Traffic, but in my case it's more to do with the Team, this Team is built all wrong and most people could see this from the word go, except for a certain few who really should have known better.
-
Sorry to say I can't see anything but an Oxford win here against a injury hit Top heavy but miss firing Brummies, I think it will me more a case of how respectable can Brum keep the scoreline ?, should be a few Cheetah's fans to help the attendance.
-
http://www.birmingham-speedway.com/howtofindus It,s all on that page.
-
That is the biggest worry of all, I cannot for the life of me see how they can get enough people through the gate to watch this team perform at it's current level , I think they need to go back to the drawing board rip up the blueprint and start all over again, the issue being are there any riders available out there to enable them to do this, because by bringing in more than 1 rider is the only way to get this sorted, when you have a ten point rider scoring around half that, you are never going to be competitive let alone win a meeting.
-
Can't say to much about how poor they are otherwise the presenters on the "Speedway Tavern" podcast will say we on the BSF are to harsh with our criticism of the Brummies, how else can you dress up a poor team living up to it's reputation ?, yes the riders probably do there best but there best aint good enough.

Firstly good luck to Rugby Borough Council and to the Save Brandon Stadium group, this is where the appeal system falls down in that if Brandon Estates lose this appeal they can simply go back draw up slightly different plans and apply again, If the Save the Stadium group lose this appeal that's it that will be the end, which is what happened many years ago when Barratt's won there appeal against Dudley MBC. Appeal Details Type of Appeal: Public Inquiry Appeal Lodged Date: 18-Jun-2001 Appeal Decision: Allowed Appeal Decision Date: 08-Jan-2002 I can only hope that the fate of Brandon Stadium is better than the fate of Dudley Wood, but as always the upper hand lies with those with plenty of time and not least money, all the while this drags on the price of property increases and so do the profits.
