  1. http://www.birmingham-speedway.com/howtofindus It,s all on that page.
  2. Poole will take some stopping with the Cook Bros in the engine room, and the reserves are much stronger than the glad rags reserves.
  3. That is the biggest worry of all, I cannot for the life of me see how they can get enough people through the gate to watch this team perform at it's current level , I think they need to go back to the drawing board rip up the blueprint and start all over again, the issue being are there any riders available out there to enable them to do this, because by bringing in more than 1 rider is the only way to get this sorted, when you have a ten point rider scoring around half that, you are never going to be competitive let alone win a meeting.
  4. Can't say to much about how poor they are otherwise the presenters on the "Speedway Tavern" podcast will say we on the BSF are to harsh with our criticism of the Brummies, how else can you dress up a poor team living up to it's reputation ?, yes the riders probably do there best but there best aint good enough.
  5. Firstly good luck to Rugby Borough Council and to the Save Brandon Stadium group, this is where the appeal system falls down in that if Brandon Estates lose this appeal they can simply go back draw up slightly different plans and apply again, If the Save the Stadium group lose this appeal that's it that will be the end, which is what happened many years ago when Barratt's won there appeal against Dudley MBC. Appeal Details Type of Appeal: Public Inquiry Appeal Lodged Date: 18-Jun-2001 Appeal Decision: Allowed Appeal Decision Date: 08-Jan-2002 I can only hope that the fate of Brandon Stadium is better than the fate of Dudley Wood, but as always the upper hand lies with those with plenty of time and not least money, all the while this drags on the price of property increases and so do the profits.
  6. To be honest being an ex Heathen I have always kept an eye out for Starkey's scores he had a poor season last year and I half expected him to call it a day, maybe now all the injuries have finally caught up with him, I think it's his heart that kept him going surely now it's time for his head to rule.
  7. This is spiteful and biased by the SCB and I doubt that it would stand up in a court of law, what concerns me is who has actually made this decision is it the SCB or the BSPL the SCB has nothing to worry about from NORA (Kent) but the BSPL may possibly see NORA as a threat to it's control over British Speedway which it has overseen whilst it has gone downhill year after year since the 1980's.
  8. This is just a bit of spite from the SCB who are undoubtably being pushed by the BSPL, what may be a good idea is if someone who is closer to Kent starting a "Go Fund me page" with the aim if its possible of taking on the SCB in the courts, now iv no idea if its do-able but thats what I would be investigating the possibilities.
  9. So is Speedway in this country cream crackered , I know for a fact that some of the people that are still trying to get Cradley back on track prefer to race on Saturday evenings, would that have the same issues as Sunday ?.
  10. I don,t think Brum would need to drop down a League. So has British Speedway sunk so low that Birmingham (or anyone else for that matter) could not put a 7 man team together to race on Sundays ?, remember they would have the pick of British based riders.
  11. It could actually be a blessing if Birmingham go with Sundays, I personally think the attendances would improve, as for Bank Holidays the BSPL going with fixed race days cream crackered a potential money spinner for some Championship Clubs, which is all the more annoying when Bank holidays come around and their are only 1 or 2 fixtures, Speedway simply needs to be more fan friendly, the local derby Cradley v Coventry on Bank holiday monday with the return on the same day that,s the type of planning needed.
  12. I can assure you the site search by Cradley has stretched far more than Dudley MBC, try Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, Staffordshire, Wyre Forest, South Staffs and even Solihull, let me give you an example of what Cradley are up against, approx 2 years ago a site came on the market and it was sold for £800k recently the same site was offered for £6 million, other land owners prefer to just let the sites lie idle or continue to use as pasture land rather than take a reasonable rent from Speedway, another example from an old farmer that has 150+ acres says why should i rent out some land and get the hassle that goes with it, That my friend is just some of the obstacles of what we are up against.
  13. The words from Laurence Rogers on the "Speedway Tavern" podcast last night was it would be announced within 24 hours watch this space, so I took him at his words, I have even listened back to the podcast and for sure thats what was said.
  14. I'm still watching this space, no meetings last night so surely it's a slow news day at the BSPl ?, seems its not slow enough to let us know who the new signing is.
  15. New rider announcement tomorrow, Dan T on a 28 day thingy ?.
  16. Don,t know where else to put this but the Greyhound fixtures for 2024 have been released today, these are only the fixtures that will be streamed to its various retail customers worldwide, there are options for Stadiums to stage none Streamed meetings if so desired. I have been unable to copy and paste so I will just do the 3 Tracks that race from Greyhound Stadia ie Wolves, Birmingham and Sheffield; Sheffield; Will have only 1 evening meeting which will be on Friday evening, all its other streamed meetings will be on mornings and afternoons. Perry Barr; Will stream evening meetings on Wednesday and Saturday, PB will also have streamed meetings on the afternoons of Tuesday & Thursday, obviously this will effect the Brummies as they race on Wednesday evenings. Monmore; Evening meetings on Thursday and Saturday, afternoon meetings on Monday & Tuesday, morning meetings on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. I would just add Swindon; Tuesday and Thursday evenings, Saturday afternoons, and Monday mornings, personally there seems enough available dates there to stage Speedway at Blunsdon. The above meeting dates are Streamed only, but as I said if any particular Track wants to stage none streamed meetings then they are perfectly able to do so, once again sorry I can't copy and paste but here is the full article. https://greyhoundstar.co.uk/great-fit-pgr/
  17. Have to say I agree with your last sentence. I believe LR should consider resigning as Birmingham Team Manager but remain as co promoter now that would be in the best interests of Birmingham Speedway as a whole.
  18. Which brings me around to how did BV get around this promoters thingy when the previous promotion ended at the NSS ?.
  19. Those are the 2 obvious riders to replace and from a crowd point of view the sooner the better, people want to see a winning team and paying £20 to watch your team lose is not much fun. I dont blame the riders for the predicament the Brummies are in but having only 2 Heat leaders was always going to be a receipt for disaster.
  20. I presume so otherwise he would not have rode and taken 6 rides, if not Brum could have used a guest, obviously he was rusty but even if he had scored 6/7/8 you would have still won.
  21. Brummies not at full strength ? rr got 6 points for the Brummies which is probably a point or two more than Stefan would have got, I actually had this meeting down as being very winnable for Edinburgh but not a forgone conclusion so well done Edinburgh.
  22. Predictions, If it's rr at No1 for Plymouth then I can't see any way that Plymouth can win this meeting, I personally think this meeting will depend on how Complin goes if he does well Plymouth win, if he struggles then The Brummies should win.
  23. Any news on THJ is he unwell ?, was he at the opening meeting, it would be very unlike him to miss out on the opening.
  24. I take it that the guest facility for James Wright will be reduced by 25% for the matches this week which means a guest with an average of a fraction over 4.00 or can they use rr ?, away at Plymouth is never easy but the home fixture against Edinburgh on wednesday should give the Brummies a good chance of gaining their first points of the season, win that and they can honestly say their season is up and running, lose it then I fear the worst.
