Poole Pirates Vs Berwick Bandits 29/6/22
Tinker replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Yeah, Ricky Wells letting the team down big time. Never rated him to be honest. -
Agree about Doyley entirely. He was the one shining light last night amongst everything else that was going on. Total commitment to British Speedway and Speedway in general. Also total commitment to Ipswich and some of his racing last night was a joy to watch. Puts a lot of other riders to shame I'm afraid.

Love it!

Yes, yes, yes!

27/28 May - Scunny v Leicester KOC
Tinker replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I paid for the live stream last Friday. Is there any chance of a refund? If this is not possible and assuming I am allowed to watch a future stream for free, can I pick the meeting or does it have to be the replay? My preference would be a refund and second choice would be a meeting of my choosing. Many thanks in advance. -
Yes, but you'll have to change your name to Bomber Turnip!

I think Brennan might surprise you, good look to him anyway!

Poole Pirates Vs Berwick Bandits 18/5/22
Tinker replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Yeah, it's a difficult one Turnip, especially with the Berwick entourage presumably still in the area. Damned if you do and damned if you don't! Is it raining yet? -
It's OK but the best stream I've seen this season is defo from Plymouth. They have pit interviews with cameras focusing on the riders/bikes etc and the commentary continues during track grades etc. The Redcar stream goes eerily quiet when the tractors are buzzing around. Interview some riders/officials etc. Keep the interest going. Top marks to Plymouth so far, Edinburgh second and Redcar/Scunthorpe next on the list. Only watched four tracks' streams thus far.

Yes, crazy it's not being streamed. I think there would have been a lot of sign ups. Looks like it could be Edinburgh versus Leicester now but I know which one I'd prefer.

Plymouth to score at least 50. Oxford a bit flaky for me.

I also thought Kiri did a good job in presenting the show. Confident with the mic and very personable. You kind of felt comfortable when she was in front of the camera and wasn't going to mess anything up. There were one or two uncomfortable gaps when Kelvin and Jason were talking but understandable in the circumstances. I'm just wondering whether Eurosport might be considering bringing in an experienced commentator, thereby letting Kelvin revert back to his previous role? As far as Sam is concerned, I don't think he is as bad as what some people make out on this forum. All opinions of course but he seems quite a genial guy and I don't mind his input.

Yes, a clear cut case of the ref getting it wrong!

Scunthorpe v Birmingham 22.4.22
Tinker replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The Plymouth crew conducted live interviews during the match. Not sure how difficult it would be for Scunthorpe to do this? It just creates a different angle and more interest for the viewer. -

They did a good job and had lots of enthusiasm which is always a big plus. No criticism from me, just observation. Keep up the good work and I will tune in again later in the season. -

I am relatively new to all this streaming malarkey but in the last couple of weeks I have taken in three matches from Edinburgh, Plymouth and Scunthorpe. Let's start with the Scunthorpe one. I take on board the fact that this was only your second meeting and it's all relatively new to you. The commentary flowed and was interesting enough so well done for that. The only downside compared to the other two was that there were no pit shots or interviews with riders and/or officials. I feel as though this would have made for a much more interesting watch as in between races the camera was simply focused on the track. The Edinburgh stream did have some rider interviews but from what I can remember no pit shots. But so far, the most enjoyable stream was from Plymouth. There seemed to be more cameras involved in the production and there were plenty of pit shots and rider interviews. The graphics were good and the commentary was very good. I think all the streams were value for money and even though I had Plymouth top of my list, I do realise that ones decision can easily be swayed by how exciting the actual match/racing was. -
I thought they'd have to pay you to watch that!

Oh, that's a shame. Seems the best match on offer tonight.

Can't find a link for the live stream on the Redcar website. Does it just appear nearer the start time?

I assume that there is no live stream for the meeting tonight? -
Plymouth v Poole KO Cup 1st leg 5/4/22
Tinker replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Soft spot for both Plymouth and Berwick, so come on Plymouth and do the business. At least on their own circuit. -
Wolves v Sheffield LC 4th April 2022
Tinker replied to Beowulf's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I think the Wolves reserve pairing will have the edge over their Sheffield counterparts. This could prove crucial re the final outcome. A lot could depend on which CC turns up and I hope Steve Worrall scores well. -
Maybe a revised deal from Eurosport to ensure it's financially worth it moving up to the Premiership. Eurosport would benefit too because there would be bigger names/teams to promote and hopefully a return to these shores of GP riders etc. A six team Premiership is a touch laughable in some respects and something needs to change sooner rather than later to maintain interest levels. As mentioned earlier, I also think a cheaper to run Championship (without the wealthier teams) would encourage new tracks to join. More tracks means more opportunities for young riders to learn their trade.
