Sheffield vs. Belle Vue Grand Final 2nd Leg 13/10/22

Quite a lot of doubt on here from BV supporters. I'm confident they can do it. -
Sheffield vs. Belle Vue Grand Final 2nd Leg 13/10/22

I think it's BV's to lose and surely they have the riders to see them through this. Lambert, Zagar and Kurtz are all quality and they will be fired up for this. A lot will depend on the other three of course but if Brennan can get one or two good gates in he might be difficult to catch. Lemon will be desperate to win this (first year in top job etc) and I think the riders will duly respond for him. A league championship a long time in coming and I don't think they will let it slip away again. -
Hope that's the case Lewy. I've developed quite a soft spot for both Plymouth and Berwick in the Championship. I've watched maybe three or four streams from Plymouth this year and always watch out for their results as well. Good luck for next year!

Whoops, I meant Kennett.

Sheffield v Wolves 06.19.22 PO semi second leg
Tinker replied to Cue Ball's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I thought the meeting together with the racing was the worst I've seen on TV all season. Enjoyed my visits to Owlerton when either Halifax or Bradford were riding and remember some cracking racing. Last night was a shadow of all that. -
Belle Vue -V Sheffield POF leg 1 Monday 10th Oct
Tinker replied to PhilTheAce's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I think it's very close to call. Yes, Wolves were poor last night but the Sheffield riders seem to have raised their game and were really getting stuck in. None more so than Kerr who could be a real spoiler in both legs. Holder and Ellis ride BV very well so the BV heat leaders won't have it all their own way by any means. Throw Mountain and Howarth into the mix (remember Mountain's performance in the British Final) and it could be one hell of a ding dong battle. BV will need to be on their A game as Sheffield will scrap for every point ..... bring it on! -

Same Steve Worral at Wolves as he was at BV. Can jump put of the start and win a race but then goes missing when you need him the most. Good gater at times but can't remember him ever coming from the back -

This is getting rather embarrassing for Glasgow. I hope Leicester put up more of a fight in the final. -

Glasgow riders in decent positions coming off bend two but just seem to get swallowed up. Poole on their A game, Glasgow very disappointing. Where's the fight from Brennan? -
Feel so sorry for Max. Three big accidents recently and from what I can tell, none were his fault. Must be feeling totally and utterly bashed about! As usual it seems, the more serious accidents seem to happen on the continent and especially in Poland. All three of Max's accidents were in either Poland or Sweden. BV were without Brady Kurtz for the play offs last year following an accident in the Czech Republic. Get well soon Max.

Edinburgh for me. As someone has already mentioned, they seem to be running into form at the right time. Can always count on Masters and Pickering for a bag full of points so I think a lot will depend on the contributions of Thomson and Castagna. Edinburgh are certainly the dark horses to be crowned champions.

British speedway is a joke.
Tinker replied to chrismorton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
As per my earlier post, it was a tongue in cheek comment regarding city clubs being forced to move into the top league. I just feel as though the Premier League is stagnating and a radical shake up is required, hence my idea of city tracks being at the top table. I'm sure most people on here will agree that something needs to be done so that we can move into 2023 with something new to look forward to and not the same old old! More teams are defo required equals more league matches and then they can do away with the Pairs which in all honesty has never taken off. -

Like I said earlier, cities is what we need. Glasgow, Plymouth, Oxford, Leicester etc. -

This is not as daft as it sounds. To give the Premier League a shot in the arm and keep Discovery/Eurosport happy why don't the powers that be enforce a top league with teams of city status only. Belle Vue (Mcr), Glasgow, Edinburgh (if running), Oxford, Plymouth, Leicester, Wolverhampton, Sheffield and Birmingham. A league of city heavyweights and all has a nice ring to it! The remaining teams from the Championship could form a league with the stand alone sides from the lower division. All rather tongue in cheek I know but the Premiership League (our top league after all) does need a massive shake up and city teams may resonate more with the press/sponsors etc. -

I think Sam Masters has this nailed on. Can't see either Kerr or Lawson winning tbh. -

We travelled up from Halifax as well and like you, stayed over in Glasgow on Friday and Saturday. Decided to get the train up which was great as we travelled via the picturesque Settle to Carlisle route. A very enjoyable weekend. Had a quick look at the betting beforehand and Kim Nilsson was the rank outsider at 125/1! -

Here here! I was there too, my first visit to Glasgow. Good enthusiastic crowd, good organisation (entry, stewards etc) and lots of exciting racing, thrills and spills. Unfortunate that riders were injured and this was the only downside. Loved the way you could stroll right into the pits before the meeting and be up close with the riders. How many other tracks allow you to do that? Well done Glasgow! -

Fully agree. I was there as well. Travelled up from Yorkshire. Fully agree. I was there and travelled up from Yorkshire. -
Leave him alone. He's an OK guy and he still has the enthusiasm.
