  1. This is getting rather embarrassing for Glasgow. I hope Leicester put up more of a fight in the final.
  2. Glasgow riders in decent positions coming off bend two but just seem to get swallowed up. Poole on their A game, Glasgow very disappointing. Where's the fight from Brennan?
  3. Mmm, hard to tell. Sort of a coming together between blue and white. Big crash for both riders though at high speed. The other two crashes were certainly not Max's fault but as we know a very unforgiving sport at times.
  4. Feel so sorry for Max. Three big accidents recently and from what I can tell, none were his fault. Must be feeling totally and utterly bashed about! As usual it seems, the more serious accidents seem to happen on the continent and especially in Poland. All three of Max's accidents were in either Poland or Sweden. BV were without Brady Kurtz for the play offs last year following an accident in the Czech Republic. Get well soon Max.
  5. Edinburgh for me. As someone has already mentioned, they seem to be running into form at the right time. Can always count on Masters and Pickering for a bag full of points so I think a lot will depend on the contributions of Thomson and Castagna. Edinburgh are certainly the dark horses to be crowned champions.
  6. I think the GP's have been mediocre at best this year. To be honest I'm getting bored of watching them and it's all rather same old, same old. I much prefer watching the British League stuff any day of the week.
  7. As per my earlier post, it was a tongue in cheek comment regarding city clubs being forced to move into the top league. I just feel as though the Premier League is stagnating and a radical shake up is required, hence my idea of city tracks being at the top table. I'm sure most people on here will agree that something needs to be done so that we can move into 2023 with something new to look forward to and not the same old old! More teams are defo required equals more league matches and then they can do away with the Pairs which in all honesty has never taken off.
  8. Like I said earlier, cities is what we need. Glasgow, Plymouth, Oxford, Leicester etc.
  9. This is not as daft as it sounds. To give the Premier League a shot in the arm and keep Discovery/Eurosport happy why don't the powers that be enforce a top league with teams of city status only. Belle Vue (Mcr), Glasgow, Edinburgh (if running), Oxford, Plymouth, Leicester, Wolverhampton, Sheffield and Birmingham. A league of city heavyweights and all has a nice ring to it! The remaining teams from the Championship could form a league with the stand alone sides from the lower division. All rather tongue in cheek I know but the Premiership League (our top league after all) does need a massive shake up and city teams may resonate more with the press/sponsors etc.
  10. Edinburgh to sneak it for me. I like the togetherness of their side inspired by both Masters and Pickering.
  11. I think Sam Masters has this nailed on. Can't see either Kerr or Lawson winning tbh.
  12. We travelled up from Halifax as well and like you, stayed over in Glasgow on Friday and Saturday. Decided to get the train up which was great as we travelled via the picturesque Settle to Carlisle route. A very enjoyable weekend. Had a quick look at the betting beforehand and Kim Nilsson was the rank outsider at 125/1!
  13. Here here! I was there too, my first visit to Glasgow. Good enthusiastic crowd, good organisation (entry, stewards etc) and lots of exciting racing, thrills and spills. Unfortunate that riders were injured and this was the only downside. Loved the way you could stroll right into the pits before the meeting and be up close with the riders. How many other tracks allow you to do that? Well done Glasgow!
  14. Fully agree. I was there as well. Travelled up from Yorkshire. Fully agree. I was there and travelled up from Yorkshire.
  15. Leave him alone. He's an OK guy and he still has the enthusiasm.
  16. Spot on Ray C. That Shovlar guys comments make no sense at all. Entertainment is the key.
  17. Just some of my thoughts on last night's meeting which I watched on the live stream:- 1. I think the overall coverage is very good. The presenters do a sound job and there were plenty of rider/manager interviews. Commentators made one or two errors but not a problem and overall very good. 2. Very easy to sign onto the stream and who would have thought three years ago that we would now be able to watch live meetings in the British Championship etc. Great innovation. 3. I thought Belle Vue would have really kicked on in this tournament with top riders like Fricke, Kurtz and Zagar. Both BV riders were pretty disappointing last night and has Fricke stagnated to a degree? 4. Well done again to Jason Doyle. Always a pleasure to watch and an absolute credit to British Speedway. Always gives his all as he did again last night. 5. Bomber having a great season and another fantastic servant of British Speedway. Always great to watch. 6. Jack Holder and Adam Ellis very hit and miss. Holder can look great one minute and then pretty average the next. 7. Josh Pickering is another very entertaining rider and I can see him becoming the new Doyley in years to come. 8. I thought the track seemed to ride OK but as others have said, it seems to have lost its reputation as being one of the best passing tracks in the country. 9. If the powers that be continue with this competition next year they need to have a big re-think as regards the inclusion (or not) of the rising stars.
  18. I've got a picture but no sound. Anyone else got the same problem?
  19. I think the Aces will have too much firepower for the Tigers so I'm going for a 50-40 win. Would like to see Brennan and Blodorn score well.
  20. Is this meeting on Eurosport tonight? Some info I have seen suggests it is but I can't see confirmation anywhere either way. Cheers.
  21. Certain Berwick riders fighting for the cause, others dire I'm afraid. More effort from certain riders and who knows??
  22. Can Ricky Wells finally come to the party .......... very doubtful!!
  23. Chris Harris, what a fantastic servant to British Speedway. Wish there were more like him!
