  1. Yes, seems the case unfortunately. So if they can't come up with new major venues go the opposite way and like I said, introduce a wildcard track every year. If nothing else it would create interest and would potentially throw a spanner in the works for some of the riders. Imagine a GP at Scunthorpe, Poole, Ipswich, Leicester etc. Just an idea of course but something radical needs to be done and new ideas need to be discussed. Probably back to the same old same old again next year though.
  2. Or look at new venues in major cities. Probably been discussed previously and would be expensive but would create alot of interest and publicity. Berlin, Munich, Budapest, London, Amsterdam etc. How many more people would travel to see a GP in Berlin compared to Teterow??
  3. Over the last few years the GP Series has got more and more boring. You watch a pretty boring meeting but then have the mindset that the next one will be better so you tune in again and hey presto, it's another boring one. Overall, not much excitement and very little real controversy. Riders too pally with each other, no real characters and the whole thing has become rather stale. No one to challenge the current champ (not his fault) and the emphasis quickly shifts to who is going to qualify for next year as opposed to who is going to be world champion. To liven things up why don't they have a wild card track every year, each participating country could nominate two tracks so the UK for instance could name Wolverhampton and Redcar. A draw is then made live on TV and a meeting is held at that particular venue. Just an idea of course but the series needs major surgery.
  4. You can possibly add Kings Lynn to that list as well, the way things are going.
  5. Well said Bagpuss. I must say that over the past year or so I have been one of TJ's biggest critics but I thought he rode his socks off tonight with plenty of aggression so well done to him. If only he could ride that every meeting!
  6. I'm surprised he's not guesting tonight for KL instead of Riss - missed a trick there imo. Quick change of kevlars between races, no problem. Jobs a good un'.
  7. As a neutral (although I have a soft spot for Kings Lynn having been there many times when holidaying in fabulous Norfolk), a Kings Lynn win would keep things very interesting for the 4th play off spot between Leicester and Ipswich.
  8. Bomber must be really fed up today with no gig anywhere. To be fair to the guy can't Sheffield scratch one of their riders tonight so Bomber can guest for them and at the same time guest in place of Ben Barker for Ipswich! With this hot weather about he'd be more than happy changing kevlars between races!
  9. Couldn't agree more. Very boring most of the time. OK live with the atmosphere but always quite drawn out on TV with a lot of follow the leader races. Give me British League racing any day of the week. Not as glam but usually a lot more interesting and at the end of the day, I personally prefer team speedway.
  10. I saw it as a tongue in cheek comment. How about Zmarzlik being handicapped and starting every GP on minus 5 points. That should make it a tad more interesting or even starting a quarter of a lap behind everyone in every race including the semis and final??
  11. Hi BB. Saw BV last night against the Witches and they were rampant. Also watched KL last week v Sheffield on BSN and several of their riders went missing. To be honest, can't see anything but a BV win but I really hope KL do eventually get their act together. Alex Brady has gone out on a limb with the Laguta signing and deserves some success so good luck to him and the team.
  12. Agreed, really enjoyed that. Belle Vue really up for it and lots of good close racing. Great race between Brady and Emil and also enjoyed watching Keynan Rew. Like his style of riding and defo one to watch for the future.
  13. Lots of people on here having a go at Alex and the KL management but no way could anyone have predicted last night's result. If Laguta had raced to a maximum and inspired the rest of the team to victory his signing would have been considered a masterstroke and everyone (bar the Sheffield fans) would have gone home happy. Very fine margins and I don't think anyone can knock Alex for making the changes he has. He was let down by certain team members not performing which it is sometimes hard to legislate for. At least Alex hasn't stood still and should be congratulated for bringing Laguta over to the UK. The team, however, still needs some changes/freshening up.
  14. Nice one Bagpuss. Always enjoy reading your posts and you always say it as it is. Appreciate that. For the sake of the league and the run in to the play offs, here's hoping things improve at KL.
  15. Couldn't agree more re Brady. Trying his best and things might turn around at some point. Good luck to him!
  16. Good luck Alex. Hope the signing is a massive success and puts KL back into contention for the play offs. Hope KL fans respond with huge numbers getting down to the stadium.
  17. Must be a bit disheartening for riders like Ryan Douglas piling up the points and then seeing three team members scoring zilch.
  18. What a silly and sad post, that's all I can say. I was just making a point, no need to get personal.
  19. The incident between Smarzlik and Doyle reminded me of an almost identical coming together in last year's Premier League Final between Brady Kurtz and Tobiasz Musielak. Kurtz fell off on the outside but it was Musielak who was excluded. I personally think Smarzlik should have gone.
  20. What's really worrying is that if Kings Lynn and Peterborough merged, taking all the best riders with them, they'd still be crap!
  21. As others have mentioned previously, the club/sponsor must have offered NP very good money to ride for Peterborough. What has now happened to this investment which must run into thousands of pounds? Can it not be used to sign a top rider which the management claim to be too expensive? All seems a bit strange.
  22. Watched the live stream, very impressed with Dan Gilkes style on the bike. Really hope he goes a long way.
  23. I don't think you can refer to Max as a "bang average rider." He's way better than that and you know it.
