  1. Agree entirely. Apart from the GP's, never really been a fan of individual events. All about league racing for me and always will be. Just wish we could go back to the halcyon days of say Halifax riding at Cradley with all the rivalry and large crowds etc. Needs to be more a sense of belonging to a team for both riders and supporters and as MikeBV regularly points out, greater financial rewards for winning the league and a proper trophy to go with it.
  2. Any 'Save Speedway" banners there Iain?
  3. What are you referring to, the half time prize draw?
  4. Oh, and I nearly forgot ..... Troy Batchelor?
  5. Bought the stream but I can't really think why?? Very drawn out meeting and why would anyone want to sign Stefan Neilsen and Paul Starke??
  6. What is up with you iainb? Obviously an ardent follower of speedway and you not only post on here regularly but seem to get to around to lots of speedway venues ...... but lots of negativity! Come on, let's have a touch more positivity. It's not all bad you know.
  7. Really enjoyed watching Ipswich ride this year so they've sort of become my adopted team. Just wish this was on TV tonight because it will be close and a lot at stake of course for the Witches. Their recent form has re-ignited interest in the play off positions and I hope they keep it going. Come on you Witches!
  8. Who exactly are you Hawk127? You talk absolute drivel.
  9. Hope so. As a neutral I want the race to get into the playoffs to go right down to the wire. Would really love to see Ipswich do it with more opportunities to see Emil and Doyley!
  10. Which forecast is that Phil? I only have the BBC app on my phone (which is unreliable at best) and could do with another one.
  11. I'm at a slight loss as to why both Jaimon Lidsey and Chris Holder have been picked in preference to Brady Kurtz. Do they both have better form on the continent? Also have to consider Holder's recent injury. Personally, I think I would have gone with Kurtz, riding well this year and would probably have upped his game even more so for the SWC.
  12. Yes, same here. Hope they fix it pronto. Trying different connections and players but all to no avail.
  13. BSN running out of riders to interview. Maybe try the tea lady next.
  14. Watched the stream. Really good meeting with some close racing. Probably one of the best I've seen this year. Hope Drew Kemp is OK. Hoping to get over to Scunny this year if the racing is this good!
  15. Well said, team sport for me all day long. Always has been, always will be.
  16. I'm sure many Wolves fans were looking forward to seeing Laguta ride at Monmore tonight but are now denied that pleasure. Seems crazy that Belle Vue fans had the opportunity to see him but Wolves fans won't. If riders are contracted to a club they should ride and certainly in all league matches.
  17. I only mentioned Budapest because I fancy going there for a weekend break and having a GP there would double the excitement! Seriously though, I am just toying with new ideas because something needs to be done. Volleyball at the North Pole could be fun??
  18. Yes, seems the case unfortunately. So if they can't come up with new major venues go the opposite way and like I said, introduce a wildcard track every year. If nothing else it would create interest and would potentially throw a spanner in the works for some of the riders. Imagine a GP at Scunthorpe, Poole, Ipswich, Leicester etc. Just an idea of course but something radical needs to be done and new ideas need to be discussed. Probably back to the same old same old again next year though.
  19. Or look at new venues in major cities. Probably been discussed previously and would be expensive but would create alot of interest and publicity. Berlin, Munich, Budapest, London, Amsterdam etc. How many more people would travel to see a GP in Berlin compared to Teterow??
  20. Over the last few years the GP Series has got more and more boring. You watch a pretty boring meeting but then have the mindset that the next one will be better so you tune in again and hey presto, it's another boring one. Overall, not much excitement and very little real controversy. Riders too pally with each other, no real characters and the whole thing has become rather stale. No one to challenge the current champ (not his fault) and the emphasis quickly shifts to who is going to qualify for next year as opposed to who is going to be world champion. To liven things up why don't they have a wild card track every year, each participating country could nominate two tracks so the UK for instance could name Wolverhampton and Redcar. A draw is then made live on TV and a meeting is held at that particular venue. Just an idea of course but the series needs major surgery.
  21. You can possibly add Kings Lynn to that list as well, the way things are going.
  22. Well said Bagpuss. I must say that over the past year or so I have been one of TJ's biggest critics but I thought he rode his socks off tonight with plenty of aggression so well done to him. If only he could ride that every meeting!
  23. I'm surprised he's not guesting tonight for KL instead of Riss - missed a trick there imo. Quick change of kevlars between races, no problem. Jobs a good un'.
  24. As a neutral (although I have a soft spot for Kings Lynn having been there many times when holidaying in fabulous Norfolk), a Kings Lynn win would keep things very interesting for the 4th play off spot between Leicester and Ipswich.
  25. Bomber must be really fed up today with no gig anywhere. To be fair to the guy can't Sheffield scratch one of their riders tonight so Bomber can guest for them and at the same time guest in place of Ben Barker for Ipswich! With this hot weather about he'd be more than happy changing kevlars between races!
